InDesign

Since I often work with different clients who have a specific color palette indicated in the Guideline, I created the COLOR Libraries for each one, implementing them over the years. So they can be used in the 3 Adobe programs: Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop (and wherever you can use it as it is very useful. Now I run into a big problem: InDesign doesn't treat the "gradient" swatch as normally as it does in Adobe Illustrator. In fact I would say that it has been doing it for some time: if you save the gradient it saves you a separate file with the gradient. Illustrator instead saves a Gradient sample. It's just not possible to make InDesign consistent with other programs. Because it works well in Illustrator while in Indesign it is decidedly more complex and not very useful. Thanks for listening.

This behavior appears to be new in InDesign 21.0.2. In earlier versions, when InDesign was open with a document and you opened another document, the application window did not resize; the new document opened in a new tab within the same window. In InDesign 21.0.2, if you have a window open with a document you are working on and then open another document, the window’s width suddenly expands to accommodate the new document. If your InDesign window is sized just wide enough for the current document and positioned on the right side of the screen so you can work with other applications simultaneously, the window now stretches far beyond the right edge of the screen. As a result, you may only see the left edge of the newly opened document. If the window size remained unchanged, the new document would be visible centered within the existing window. Users size their windows to meet their needs. InDesign shouldn't override that and think it knows a better window size.

Having problems in last month with pins unmapping between SRL and Indd. Anyone else experiencing this? Commonalities: mac user mixed with HP users, human error of design boxes being moved or deleted. Inconsistent occurrence.

Estoy trabajando un libro dec 372 paginas y esot aplicando correcciones pagina por pagina. de pronto un spre3ad de dos paginas enfrentadas salen los cuadros de las fotos blamncos y el fondo del spread transparente y sin textos. todo las demas paginas se ven perfectas. que puede ser y como corregirlo?

 Good morning, this has been driving me crazy. So i decided to map it out. I am not really sure what to call the very top Bar, but the areas in green I can click and hold and move the App around, the non-green areas does not move the app. Is this just me? It's so annoyingAny fixes?

Desde que instale la ultima actualizacion de Indesing no puedo trabajar tranquila, si no es que se cierra cuando trabajo con la tipografia, se cierra con otra funcion.-Tambien tengo problema con las impresiones desde indesing con la resolucion de los png.- La verdad que me resulto un desastre la utlima actualizacion. Muchos errores.- Ya desistale e instale varias veces y sigue igual

I have numerous InDesign files with a lot of text, and hyperlinks interspersed throughout that text. Is there a way to put the hyperlinks on a separate layer so that when I export the file to an Adobe PDF, I can turn the hyperlinks on/off in the layers panel of the PDF? 

Hello to the community,I am using the current last versions of InDesign (21.1) and Illustrator (30.1) on Windows, French versions.I can no longer save InDesign files after having imported an Illustrator artwork. The InDesign file is systematically corrupted. Worse, once imported, even if I remove the artwork, I cannot still save my file. I have already worked from scratch, by saving Illustrator artwork with latest version, creating a new InDesign file: nothing works. I have also deleted all software parameters (from C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Adobe). Nothing helps.Thank you for your help: I attach below one of the files I want to import, but I have the same problems with other simpler images.To be complete, I did not encounter any problem with previous versions, and with the same files.Regards,Pascal Garin

HiWhen I import an MWWord doc containing links, it seems that InDesign sometimes applies my 'Hyperlink' character style to the links, sometimes not. The only way I know that the Hyperlink style is applied to all links is if i select the text, go to the Hyperlinks window, click on one of the list of selected hyperlinks and then sent the style to "Hyperlink".  But does anyone know what's going on? I"d really like some automated process to unfailingly apply the Hyperlink style to all hyperlinks. Any clues? Thanks!best,Kurt

Need to add "$" to multiple cells in many tables. I'm hoping to automatically, like find and replace. Would there be a GREP for this? It's for French figures, so the "$" is at the end of the cell, i.e., "345 $".

I'm going crazy. I must be. I hate the animated zoom. I am target-zooming and don't want some smooth glide in. I've never selected this option and suddenly it's ON. I've literally read through evey single selection in Preferences. WHERE. IS. IT. 

Looking for a script to make multiple files into PDF but also have the ability to add a password to it from Indesign. To save me keep going into the properties section. Would be a added bonus to if i could change the name of the file to.

Hi. I have a question. Is it possible to create an interactive checklist in InDesign that adds a checkbox to a given task, which is then checked off and also checked off in the tracker on another page? The tracker will ultimately collect all tasks from the entire document.

I have a document in single page layout with threaded text from page to page based on a master layout and I separate chapters with single page chapter divider based on a different master (chapter divider pages have a background color that expants to page bleed). Each time I place a page break at the end of chapter I manualy insert a new page from master with a chapter divider and text is flowing at the next page. In case I add a new page break on the first page or is needed to add text (e.g. edits) is there a way that the chapter divider page could also follow the text flow automatically at the appropriate page position? I can no longer Copy any comments in Review window (Share for Review). I should be able to copy the text from the comment directly into the window. But this function is disabled in this version of InDesign. Now I have to manually type text. It was a problem last years resolved by a new version, but in 21.1 InDesign, this problem still appen. What's going on Adobe !? 

Hello, when we try to view our presentation (https://indd.adobe.com/view/xxxx), we only see the header. From the first part of 'interactivity', the page goed blank. When we use the 'Download PDF' function, the presentation is shown in full (but -of course- static).In 'webmaster tools' we see: "13b84ffa-5d50-4ba6-b9bc-a00c947d72ed:1 Refused to execute script from 'https://indd.adobe.com/newrelic_browser/newrelic.js' because its MIME type ('text/html') is not executable, and strict MIME type checking is enabled."Doen anyone have the same issue?

When I export my indesign files to pdf, colored lines appear where the images should be. I've unchecked the GPU, made sure the apps have full disc access and tried different acrobat presets.

Hello,I’m experiencing an issue with InDesign files created by my colleague. Whenever she creates a document using the Inter font and saves it, when I open the file on my computer, all the text that should be Bold, SemiBold, etc., appears in a strange Light version.I’ve tried:Installing the font locally on my computerChecking if Inter is installed as Adobe Fonts, which it isMass replacing the font in the document…but it only works for Regular.When I export, I see the wrong fontThe only current workaround is replacing each instance manually, which is impossible for a catalogue of over 50 pages. When I click on the text, I do see the font is Inter and  it's "bold", though doesn't appear as bold. When I click on "bold" again, then it appears as it should be.Could you please advise on how to resolve this?

Auriez-vous une solution car à chaque ouverture il manque de nouveau des photos ? Je précise que je l'ai bien importée et non copier/coller. Je vous remercie par avance
