Is there a planned roadmap for improvement or similar features release calendar for InDesign?  Given Affinity revamp is out, among others, is there a reason to keep a subscription for the next year if there is no plan to improve?  

Hi, I have a suggestion to make to the devs,I think the Distribute Horizontal/ Vertical centers button is very misleading, why do I say this? Because even thought I can understand the "center"of the squares being vertical and horizontal, The lines that stick out of the square are wrong. Distribute Horizontal Centers has Vertical lines sticking out, and Distribute Vertical Centers has horizontal lines sticking out. At first I thought I was crazy, but it is actually misleading when you're in a hurry and all you see is the lines. I think the squares kind of make sense but the lines showing the constraints don't. Horizontal is side-by-side, and thats absolutly correct, and vertical is one on top of the other, but the lines are super misleading, making me confused for no reason at all. I think this  should be changed because the lines that are sticking out are not the correct orientation. Idk maybe im stupid but it seems like it makes more sense like that...Distribute top edges an

I've installed the program several times, but I keep encountering the same error. I haven't encountered this problem with InDesign on my other computer. What causes this and how can I fix it?

Hi, i recently upgraded to the 2026 suite and now when i update indd. templates to my Adobe library, the thumbnails no longer preview? I really nope there is a trick to fix this error as we have 100's of shared templates we share accross the organisation. we couldn't possibly open these thumbnails for a visual as it would be very unresourceful . Can anyone help?

Every time I open InDesign, I find the context bar in the center of the screen. Even when I use the 'unpin' command, I move the context bar where I want it, and "pin" it. However, the bar keeps returning to the center, and the 'pin context bar' command doesn't seem to work.Screenshot attached.

When i place an image into a document, the image appears like these two below. I have never had an issue previously placing images into documents.    

I'm on InDesign 21.1 on Windows 11. When I click on a text frame, I see the alignment tools were removed from the  Control bar. Anyone know why this was done? Is there a way to reinstate it? 

Adobe just introduced, albeit in beta, PDF to InDesign in 2026. I just tried opening a PDF and it failed with no real reason. The joke here is that I was able top open and fully edit the PDF in Affinity by Canva. What gives?Adobe can;t even open their own format!

Buongiorno, terminato un libro fotografico in InDesign (l''11° ... lo preciso solo per dire che sono procedure che ho già fatto tante volte) al momento di creare il pdf qualità tipografica - sia utilizzando i predefiniti sia facendo esporta - fopo 10 - 15 minuti si blocca, compare una videata di errore di cui ho fatto copia e incolla ma è lunghissima e sono tutti codici di cui poco capisco e si chiude tutto, indesign compreso. Allego il documento con il papiello di report. Qualcuno può aiutarmi? Perché oggi dovrei far vedere il libro al cliente e domani mandarlo in stampa e sono abbastanza disperata. Hello, I'm going to do a series of labeling jobs in InDesign using Data Margin. I'm having one problem. I can't create a QR code from the numbers in a column of an Excel list. Name, surname, and address are fine. But I need to create a QR code from the numbers for each one. This Excel list already has a column. I open InDesign, run Data Margin, and import the CVS file I created. The headings appear, everything is fine, but I can't create the QR code. How can I create a QR code from the numbers in a column of a CVS file without relying on the internet or websites that create QR codes? Urgent help please... A short video would be enough. A short video showing how to create a QR code from just numbers would be sufficient.

I'm working on a long text document in InDesign 2026. I made changes to the 300 pages yesterday, saving frequently, exported it to a PDF and printed it out. I saved in both in Indesign 2026, and as IDML. Today, I find, after making additional changes (and saving frequently), that I'm working in a document that doesn't have yesterday's corrections.  I looked into History, but there are no previous versions. Revert is grayed out.  I'd love to find yesterday's final. If not, would loading the pdf into the indesign file work? And would it automatically flow into the design attributes that are in the program (as it was set up by someone else!). THANK YOU!!  

I've been stuck on this window whenever I try to "Save" or "Save As" my file..I have the most up to date version of InDesign, not sure what else to do? 

Hi. In a book with continuous text (text boxes linked), I have a style in each new chapter to make sure it starts in a new page. All frames have full justify in VERTICAL alignment, but I wanted something to detect the last frame before the new chapter to make it aligned top. That is because the last frame will probably have much less text and justify it will make it very ugly. Can be a style, script, GREP...Any idea? Many thanks,Luiz

Hi all, I've been using InDesign almost since it came out and have always thought it a brilliant programme, but I'm getting increasingly fed-up with the endless bugs which seem to be almost daily now.I was wondering if anyone has experienced either of these lately, and whether anyone has any fixes or workarounds? 1 - text disappears at random, sometimes a word or sentence at a time, sometimes en-masse, not reappearing until I hit the TAB button to clear /return menus, or otherwise use some workspace setting. This is happening on different machines, with fonts both cloud and local. 2 - I'm finding that even docs I've only just created, using the latest updated version of InDesign, then won't re-open on the same machine they were shut down on only minutes earlier, because they 'were created with a newer version of InDesign'.  In both cases, this obviously stops me in my tracks, usually at a point where production deadlines are bearing down on me. WTF Mr Adobe? Testversion läuft wunderbar, also keine Abhängigkeit von Windows11 etc.In meinen Augen haben die Adobe-Jungs keine Lust mehr auf CS6 sondern wollen lieber ein Abo verkaufen. Vermutlich sind die Server einfach down. For any packaged files (in my case full magazine issues), that have been finalized and moved to a backup drive, cloud storage, etc. InDesign now cannot find the Links folder sitting right next to the layout file without direct intervention. It appears the latest version of InDesign makes all linked files paths "absolute" and is unable to recover or even automatically seek the Links folder. This is the first version of InDesign to have this error (I've used ID since version 1.0). This problem is particularly sinister when utilizing any kind of cloud syncing service (though I suspect CC storage wouldn't be affected) such as Dropbox. Even when a file is fully packaged, if I use my laptop rather than the original workstation to open the fully packaged and synced file, InDesign reports all linked files as missing. I must then relink the files. While having packaged things previously means I only need relink one and the others will be "found," this only works most of the time. I've

I am unable to start/open the MakeGrid script in InDesign. Other scripts open, but since the latest update, the MakeGrid script isn't working. Anybody else having the issue or able to provide a solution?Thank you.

I decided there was a better way to do something and now I've created a mess for myself. At the end of sections of my textbook, I have Important Points boxes:Note that there is an anchored text frame at the top, overyling the top of the main text frame. Some of my Important Points boxes need to continue on the next page. I'd been manually copying and manually cutting and pasting between the two (or three) Important Point boxes, so the second one would look like this:Note that this header box text frame is in the same place, but needs to be longer (manually adjusted) and to say 2/2 rather than 1/2. I have an Object Style for both the tinted big text frame and the header text frame, and the header text frame is linked to the main tinted text frame. Originally I was manually copying the main text frame to a second frame and manually cutting and pasting text to get the Important Points text to appropriately divide the text between the two big tinted text frames. After packaging fonts, I need to restart ID 1-2 times before it correctly points to the Document fonts folder in the current directory.Sometimes it fails, which is quite frustrating.

Is it at all possible to link/place files from a MicroSoft Sharepoint site direct to Indesign? I would like to link a Word/Excel file direct to the sharepoint site and avoid using my local one drive. I know i can create a shortcut on my Onedrive from the sharepoint site but i want to keep the path in the links panel direct to the url and not to someones local onedrive which i know it adds when you create shortcuts. Essentially i like to mount a sharepoint site as a direct drive to the mac
