Hello,For almost 2 years, we have been testing and debugging our PLNs in their release versions, as we could not get the debug versions to build/link, and it was still possible to run in the VS2019 debugger with breakpoints etc...Now, we have some quiet time, and I deceided to try to get the debug version of the PLN to build and finally managed to et the debug version of my PLN to build and link.But, when I try to use the "normal" version of InDesign to load my debug PLN, nothing happens.Do I need to also install the DEBUG version of InDesign (yuk!) ?Very best regards,Olivier

I have an interactive PDF created in indesign. I have hyperlinks in my doc that open/connect to pdfs in a separate folder where the hyperlinked pdfs are stored.  I would like to have this interactive pdf placed on a website maintaining the separate file structure and its links. How do you accomplish this?

Hello, Updated to Adobe 2025 months ago, and it was working last week until I needed a Mac update. It was not working after it needed an update (crashes on load and shows "not responding"). I updated my Mac, and it still won't work. MacOS Sequoia 15.5. 2022 Mac Studio Apple M1 Max.I have deleted Cache, Preferences, cmd+shift+option+control on start, reinstall, etc., and nothing has worked. Old installs are not working. I've never had this problem with any Adobe app before. Any help?

I’m working on the design below, and when I press W, the layout changes back and forth—see screenshots below. The version on the left is how it should look, on the right, how it should not look. The issue disappears after I restart the application, but it returns soon after. This is a significant issue for professional designers, it means we can no longer rely on the accuracy of what your software displays. Setup: macOS Tahoe 26.1, InDesign 21.0.1. PS: The screenshot on the right seems to display a previous step in the process, for unknown reasons.PPS: I’m not talking about how ‘W’ hides/shows the bounding boxes, I’m talking about the design itself changing. 

Hi.  I am creating an ebook and adds an audio file to some pages.  Is there a way that an audio scrubber or controller be available? I have tried placing the audio itself and expanding it, makes it visible on the page but the audio scrubber doesn't act properly on different versions of iPhones.  It only acts correctly on iPhone 17 but on other models, the scrubber shrinks or jumps around the page.  Not having the problem on Mac and iPad.   Please help.  Thank you.

Will not launch with Windows 11. Error 0xc0000142.Also, Indesign 2025 20.5.1 freezes when trying to edit paragraph style options.

Recently my CS6 InDesign had pink around all the text in my newsletter. The font choices Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic are in wrong order and have [brackets around them.]  Whole page is pink, but i can still read the black fonts. It prints out without the pink, and a PDF isn't affected, but it's tough to see through all that as I'm composing or cutting-and-pasting.  Hellllppp!!!!                                             Bill D. 

Hi 🙂The fractions in InDesign 2026 (bottom expression) are much greater in size than in InDesign 2025 (upper expression), even though I've both set at 8pt. Can I somehow set the 2026 fractions to the size of the 2025 ones? Thanks in advance.

Wenn ich im Verknüpfungsfenster Bilder mit Sonderzeichen im Dateinamen wo anders hinkopieren will aus dem Kontexmenü funktioniert das nicht. Es gibt eine Fehlermeldung. Wieso läßt Adobe in ihrer Adobe Stock Bibliothek zu, Bilder mit Sonderzeichen zu benennen? Könnt ihr das in Zukunft korigieren? 

Hi, I’m using version 21.0 on Mac. When I move (for example) a rectangle next to another rectangle, they appear to snap into contact. However, when I zoom in, I can see they aren’t perfectly adjacent, there’s a small gap between them, the width of which seems to depend on how zoomed in I was when I aligned the elements. A quick online search shows this is a known, ongoing issue that still hasn’t been fixed. Please look into it, it’s quite frustrating to work with. NOTE: My InDesign environment has Snap to Guides and Smart Guides active, and Snap to Document Grid not active.

Wir haben hier ein InDesign-Dokument in das eine Illustratordatei eingebunden worden ist an unterschiedlichen Positionen mit unterschiedlichen Beschnittrahmen.Beim PDF-Export werden auch die durch den Zuschnitt des Illustrator-Dokuments "unsichtbaren" Elemente mit exportiert. Sie sind zwar unsichtbar in der exportierten PDF, aber wenn ich die PDF-Datei mit z.B. Illustrator wieder öffne, kann ich die unsichtbaren Pfade sehen.Warum werden die unsichtbaren Pfade mit ausgegeben?Wenn ich das InDesign-Dokument als Postscriptdatei dem Distiller übergbebe, passiert das nicht.

I just closed my mac without turning it off, and when i opened it the next day, i could not do anything on my document. I can open new documents, but all menus are gray, like there is an opened window that does not exist. Also, i cannot quit indeisng, nor click on "about indesign".... I triesd to delete preferences, caches, et reinstall it, nothing has worked...

how can i lock all text boxes, but not the text and all frames with pictures, but not the pictures so that all pages have the same layout without having things move around

We have created literally thousands of pieces of artwork in Indesign that have been exported as PDF and sent to various large format printers over many years. Recently it came to light that one of the PDFs containing tints of black had printed 'brown' by introducing cyan, magneta and yellow into the mix. The InDesign file showed as pure black, the exported PDF only showed pure black, but CM and Y were printed in addition to the black. On the face of it, because the PDF shows no cyan, magenta or yellow in the grey, the blame would be placed on the RIP, but is this the case? Is it possible to create a PDF that shows one CMYK mix but prints another? Indesign is set to CMYK, synched to Europe General Purpose 3,PDF 1.6, PDF/X-4:2010, no colour conversion. Intent profile: document CMYK coated FOGRA39

That didn't work for me and I have the same problem in InDesign CC 2017 AND InDesign 2018. It was fine until I upgraded to CC2017 10.1.3. This is maddening. I have a big job to finish that's full of photos in circle frames. They have to be perfect circles and I can no longer create them. I guess I could export and .idml, open that in a previous version where it DOES work, then when I'm done, export the document AGAIN as an idml so I can reopen it in CC 2018 to export a 3rd time for my client. Can't understand how Adobe can do the 'who me?' response as though it isn't their problem, which it so obviously is.

I am creating an index for a parts catalog where each SKU needs to be it's own index entry. I can create a reference in the index panel for the "RSR-0003", but when I try to add the "RSR-003" it just combines the entry with the RSR-0003 and creates a second page reference. How do I keep this from happening?When I generate the index, it doesn't include the RSR-003.  

Don't ever recall this being an issue in the past, but today I'm getting this bizarre issue.  I've created my doc (in Adobe InDesign 2025) and exported it as an interactive PDF. In the Export view settings, its set to 'Fit Width'. When the PDF file is initially loaded, this zoom level (zoom level is 190%) is honoured. When I click on any of the Table of Contents links the PDF navigates to the correct page but the zoom level reverts to what i assume is either 'fit page' or 'fit height' (zoom level changes to 80%) and ignores the 'Fit Width' setting from the InDesign Export panel. Can't see any other options anywhere, but it has been a while since I set up a TOC, so could be overlooking something very obvious! Any suggestions or thoughts would be very much appreciated

We are using InDesign 2023 (18.5.4) on Mac Studio, yes I know we should be using the latest version but we need a plug-in that only works in 2023 and can't be updated. Our libraries worked earlier this week and yesterday they stopped with a message that reads:"This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and connot be opened until the other user closes it." I'm the administrator/owner of the libraries and my co-workers have "view & use" rights, we're all getting the same message when trying to drag an item out of the library.  I've searched for similar topics and tried all of the possible solutions (updating the CC app, trashing the CC Library folder, etc.) nothing has worked. Funny thing is the libraries work in 2024 and up. Has Adobe turned off library support for 2023? Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on a fix would be greatly appreciated!

OMG, this is the same thing that happened when we updated to InDesign v21.  We are getting the error message:"Application Error, The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000142). Click OK to close the application." IT has to get involved. I have 20+ InDesign users that are working on deadlines. I can no longer open my InDesign files. The following error message appears:   "InDesign could not open the file because it was created in a newer version (Adobe Indesign 21.0). You can convert and open this file, but content created with features from the latest versions may be lost. To take full advantage of all features, it is recommended to update to the latest version."   I have updated my version and tried to convert the file, but neither worked, and I can no longer access my file. Is there any other way I can still open my file?    <Title renamed by MOD>

 I exported a PDF from InDesign that needs to be digitally accessible. The problem is that Adobe InDesign places all footnotes (note) in a p-tag (p). You can, of course, manually extract the footnotes from the p-tag in Acrobat. But it's a document with almost 100 footnotes, so that would be a lot of manual work.Is there a way to do this automatically? For example, with a (preflight) script? I hope so 😉
