Lightroom Classic

I normally do my work in Lightroom Desktop and sync images and their edits to the cloud.  My entire workflow starts in Lightroom (either desktop or mobile).  I load images to the cloud, then later I'll open Lightroom Classic and download everything I've done so I have a local copy/backup of my images.  I never start in Classic and sync smart previews to the cloud. Sometimes I need to use LrC, for soft-proofing for example.  If I have LrC set to save .xmps, when it downloads an image or the edits I've done to an image, what does it do?  Will it then create the .xmp and save it next to the raw that it downloads from the cloud?

Lightroom 14, 5, 1. When importing, I create a path (hard drive, folder, subfolder), but in the Library, LR creates a new hard drive, with the photos in the correct location, if I search for them in the Finder.But in the LR Folders I find two hard drives: in the newly created one, there is only the name of the subfolder, while in the normal one there are the other folders, but not the one just imported.

This specifically IS bugged, and has been for probably a year or two now since I've seen others and me posting about it with no fixes. The first 4-5 years using LR, never had crashing issues and then random crashes with no crash reports.I report it to Adobe and just get the response, we don't see a crash report on the account....where I reply, duh, I already told you that......Then find another post someone pin pointing it to the catalog pref. automatic writing metadata to XMP is the culprit.   So I try and turn it off and just manually select all the files and constantly save on my own, and that worked.  No crashes.....try turn it back on, instantly either on load up, or after switching every 5-10 photos, crash, no crash report, just as if someone went to task manager and end task.Again, tell Adobe that.....well we don't see a crash report....again, already stated that, please read the post.... So I keep it off, not a single crash since......then recently see

All of a sudden LRC will not minimize. When I open it, it fills the screen and moving my mouse to the top of the screen does not bring up the x,-,+. The app icons that appear when I bring my mouse off the bottom of the screen will not appear either. I have to go to Hot Corners, which reveals the app icons and I go from there. This has just begun. Hassle I'm using 15.7.1 (24G231). I don't want to upgrade to Tahoe 26 until I'm sure the bugs are worked out. Thank you.

Hi,   I am having issues in Tethering shoot, whereby lightroom will not connect to live view (but is able to import files from camera) and just hangs, it has to be killed in order quit. I am using lightroom on Intel Mac with MacOS Sequoia, camera is Canon 650D. Camera is able to connect via eos utlity and show live view.   Any help will be appreciated.   Thanks, TM

 I shoot sports... and it's super useful to rate in camera (very small % of shots are keepers), delete all the non-rated items.. and get a leg-up on editing by differntiating the 4-star images/video from the 2-stars.  I do this using the prominent "rating" button on the Canon R-series cameras.Photos work perfectly ... but when video comes into Lightroom the stars aren't preserved.  I realize this MAY be a gap with MP4 file format (which would be a huge bummer) .. but I would think/hope that LR could get the data from the camera and preserve it in the library, even if not in the video file.  (I'd change file names using LR rename to show the star rating).Can anuthing be done? 

SDR left, HDR right.The issue:As I increase the exposure in HDR mode, the blue is replaced by the light purple. It's present in the output files.  But as I increase the exposure in SDR mode, the blue doesn't shift hue (just gets lighter)I'm a newbie to HDR mode and this is puzzling. 

LrC 14.4 was released in June.   The update affects the operation of Photoshop.    Following the update and installation, and using the new embedded  Denoise , or , Super resolution feature, the screen flashed momentarily, and no perceived difference was noticed in RAW file.    When attempting to send the super resolution file to Photoshop for editing, Ps would start and the work space appears.  No file is transferred from Lightroom.  All menus do not open. Photoshop does not respond and closing Photoshop  is only possible via Task Manager.    The same procedure is then attempted with another RAW file in LrC but with no Super Resolution feature applied.   The file is transferred into Photoshop for editing as normal.  All functions in Photoshop respond as usual.   NOTE:   latest version of Photoshop is used, all graphics drivers are current, significant dedicated  SSD scratch disks are us

Since the last update opening photo in Photoshop by right clicking in Lightroom doesn't work anymore.   Working on a Mac Mini latest ver. of OSX

Bonjour, J'ai installé un nouveau PC portable Windows 11, et je dispose d'un écran secondaire 27 pouces.J'ai réinstallé les logiciels Adobe.Lorsque je "déplace" Ligthroom Classic et Ligthroom de mon écran de PC portable, vers mon écran secondaire, ils ne s'adaptent pas au niveau résolution.Tous les autres logiciels s'adaptent bien à la résolution de l'écran secondaire, y compris Photoshop.Avec mon ancien PC également en Windows 11 et ce même écran secondaire, cela fonctionnait très bien. Lightroom Classic et Lightroom sont donc inutilisables sur mon écran secondaire de 27 pouces (qui est mon écran de travail). Savez-vous comment résoudre ce problème ? Cordialement,Adrien

HELP: Unable to email photos from LrC version 14.5.1, neither outlook or gmail can be validated nor connected to the server.  Windows 11and utd.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

La carte contenant les jpg est transférée dans Photos et les photos en RAW sont enregistrées dans un disque dur où se trouve un catalogue lrcat qui leur est consacré. Une fois affichées dans LrC, je les indexe immédiatement en mots-clés hiérarchiques. Cela constitue en quelque sorte ma filmothèque, dont je ne modifie aucun fichier.Les RAW que je veux développer et conserver sont développées dans Capture One (qui reste pour moi le meilleur "derawtiseur") puis stockées dans un autre disque dur so

Previously, I had this preference to Tif but yesterday I changed it to PSD. However, even though I've restarted both Lightroom Class and Photoshop several times, when I choos a tif image and Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2025 - top item,Then Edit a CopyIt copies the image as a tif again and opens that in PS.

Hi.I'm curious, as after editing my photos looks 1:1 what gains is it to use lightroom 14.5 vs 12.x versions?after 14.x my lightroom work has been so slow, i updated from 1080 to 5060ti (1:1 but more vram), updated to 64gb of ram. And well is it just me or the 14.5 is just sooo slow, is it do some ai features? I want to roll back to 12.x as its substantionally faster than this new, good that adoba raised pricesd, but did not raise devs to optimize it better.... same with acrobat reader tho.. .or is it just me and everything is fast? 

When I try yo open LrC the splash screen appears for a few seconds but the app doesn't open. I'm using a MAC running Sonoma 14.0. Incidentally Photoshop opens fine and I have checked my Adobe account to make sure that my subscription is still in place. Any ideas? Philip

Hi, yesterday I updated my MacBook Pro to macOS Sonoma. Everything works fine, except Lightroom Classic wich doesn't start anymore. It's stuck at the "Loading" Pop up but then I get a spinning wheel and nothing happens. It basically freezes. I already re-installed it and re-startet the MacBook. Lightroom itself works. I only have issues with Lightroom Classic. Anyone else experiencing this? Any workarounds?  Thank you in advance

Does anyone know if it is possible within Lightroom/Photoshop or with a Plugin to view each individual histogram for multiple images at once? I'm interested in comparing the light and colour properties of all images in an album and would love to be able to view this data in a list-like view. Any help would be appreciated.

bonjour depuis la derniere mise a jour de ma tablette wacom mon stylet reste bloqué sur les curseurs de droite une fois debloqué ca fonctionne mais c'est enervant a chque reglages, ca ne le fait aps avec ma souris, wacom me dit que c'est lightroom qui pose probleme, mais ca fait 3 fois que je desinstalle et ré installe lightroom et ca ne change rien, que faire ? merci pour votre aide

Und plötzlich geht es nicht mehr: Lightroom Classic versucht zu Starten und stürzt nach einigen Sekunden ab. Voreinstellung habe ich zurückgesetzt - ohne Erfolg. Kommplette Neuinstallation des Programms hilft auch nicht. Photoshop läuft einwandfrei. Textweise habe ich Lightroom für Desktop, Web und Mobilgeräte installiert. Diese Version funktioniert. Wie bekomme ich Lightroom Classic wieder zum Laufen? System: MacOS 26.0.1. MacBook Pro 13Zoll mit Zweitmonitor Benq SW270C

I got a new laptop and installed Lightroom Classic on it. LR was uninstalled on the old computer. The problem is that when I start the program, the following window appears and then remains blank. I can't select anything, and when I close it using the cross, Lightroom closes as well. Somehow, I managed to import a few images, but they are not displayed in the Develop module. So I can't use Lightroom at all at the moment. When I was temporarily able to access the preferences, I noticed that my Adobe ID is not displayed in LR. I suspect that the link to my account has not yet been established, but I can't get anywhere with this blank white window. I have already tried uninstalling LR and reinstalling it. Unfortunately, this did not change anything. So I need help from Adobe to fix this problem. Best regards,Eike   

Hi,Issue:Lightroom Classic 14.5.1 Mac OS 14.8.1Canon R5II with the most recent firmware (1.1.1.) installed and using the RF 100-500mm L lens. The camera and lens data displays correctly in the library module, but in the develop module under lens corrections the Canon lens shown is the EF 100-400 mm L lens. Reviewed photos taken under previous versions of the camera firmware with the same camera and lens. The correct lens data is displayed in both the library module and under lens corrections in the develop module.Thanks.

Hello,I use  Lightroom Classic under Windows 11. All my images are located on a Synology Diskstation with DSM 7.1.1. The image Folder is mounted as a networkdrive via SMB with a user that has read and write permissions on that share and all folders within it. Until now everything worked well. I don't now exactly when it started but the day before tomorrow i realized, that Lightroom renames jpg files to name.tmp and does not recognize the images anymore. I have 10000 files renamed that way now! 😞I can reproduce this behavior like that: * rename the images to name.jpg* sync folder ib Lightroom -> images are back again* save metadata When save metatadate I sometimes get the message that there was an error saving the metadata. Errorcode is 29. "Unknown File I/O errror" is the messge translated from German. Afterwards the images are renamed to *.tmp again.  Can someone tell me, what happened? I didn't change permissions or something nlike that.&
