When LR tries to export a photo that's corrupt, the export hangs and never completes. It should produce an error message instead. Worse, there isn't a way for a plugin to detect and recover gracefully. The call to rendition:waitForRender() will never return, even after the user cancels the corresponding task in the progress bar. Several of my plugins rely on exporting photos, e.g. Any Vision. To reproduce on LR 13.2 / Mac OS 14.4.1: 1. Download this tiny catalog: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/48dtex70opjseeyhsm0hn/corrupt-bug.2024.04.25.zip?rlkey=hrf6fsoogaklqw77so3n723a0&dl=0 2. Copy the script "corrupt-bug.lua" from the catalog folder into the Scripts subfolder of the Lightroom settings folder. 3. Start LR. 4. Select the one photo and do File > Export, exporting it as a JPEG. Observe that the export never completes, with the progress bar showing: Also observe that the following error appears when LR is run from Terminal

Hello, I've had images with the exclamation marks and have had to relocate them before, but this is something entirely different. In the library module, I was reordering some photos between my 2nd shooter and myself for a wedding. I had 22 photos selected and was moving them to a new section of the wedding. I dropped them and they dissapppeared. Now, they are still there in the folder on my hard drive (images 892-914). In my lightroom folder it says 916 of 957 photos (because there's some stacks). I've turned off all filters. I've tried to see if they are available to import, but they are grayed out as if they are already there.I really don't understand what's happening. I went to ALL PHOTOS in lightroom and searched for the filenames, but they still don't show up. Help?
I was trying to remove a distraction on the corner of the image, and was only selecting what was visible in the crop and the remove tool was giving me weird results. Took me a while to discover that's because I was not selecting the full object till the actual end of the image, which was ocluded by the crop. What I think a better behaviour should be is, to show the whole uncropped image when you're applying any of the Healing/Remove/AI fill tools, with some minor overlay of what's cropped. If you're using those tool on a portion of the distraction you usually get weird results. Here's some Remove Tool results by selecting what's visible (after the crop) I can cincumvent this by drawing a much larger area outside the cropped frame to get good results. But... Not a bug but annoying: Notice how the pin is now greyed out. I can't select it as it's center is outside the limits of the crop.
Hi, I used before Luminar Flex in my Lightroom. Now I want removed the plugins. Iwas just doing that from Preferenser/External Editing BUT Flex is still in my Modules (photo below). Can I just removed those files?
Version: 14.0.1 Platform and OS Version: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 When exporting an HDR image from a plugin, one cannot turn off the maximum compatibility setting. This results in overly large files that are not yet widely processed correctly. The following creates a minimal (?) plugin that reproduces the problem. Expected: two exports are created, one with maximum compatibility off ("normal" HDR render) and one with maximum compatibility on (SDR + gainmap(?) render). Actual: two identical files are rendered. LR 14 uses invalid keystroke syntax for the Next and Previous Variation commands in the TranslatedStrings files for 8 of the 16 languages. I transferred my Lightroom Classic catalog and photos from PC (catalog was on internal SSD & photos were on external SSD) to MacBook Air, with both the catalog & photos on the internal drive. I obviously did something wrong because every image on both on Lightroom Mobile as well as Lightroom desktop have been moved to the deleted status and are no longer appearing in my albums. I can't figure out what I did wrong. As I'm writing this, the All Synced Photographs on Lightroom Classic on the PC is counting down toward zero.I still have my original catalog and photos in multiple places, so I'm not concerned (at least not yet) that I'll lose everything. Can anyone help who is very knowledgeable about all aspects of Lightroom's syncing process?
Bonjour,Dans le même sujet, je ne trouve pas comment redimensionner la fenêtre Préférences.C'est agaçant.Si quelqu'un peut m'aider, merci Good morning,In the same topic, I can't find how to resize the Preferences window. It's annoying. If anyone can help me, thank you
[Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
Hoping someone can help.My Lightroom classic library is stored on an external drive with additional safety copies on different drives.I have recently included my main external drive in my Time Machine back up and was experimenting to find out the process of recovering my Lightroom Library should anything happen to the drive. I successfully restored the library from Time Machine to a spare external drive. The files and folders are the same size and all images appear to be there but as the new drive has a different name all images have the exclamation mark. Does anyone know the best way to fully restore a Lightroom library in the event that I had to rely on the Time Machine copy backed up on a completely new drive? Many thanks in advance.
Hello everyone, I've a MacBook Air M1 and the desplay default resolution is 1440 x 900; if I'm setting on "More Space" the resolution is 1680 x 1050. Why in the LrC Catalog Settings the Standard Preview Size if is set on Auto is 3360px?
When attempting to open a file in LRC, I got this notification -The Lightroom catalog cannot be opened because it is too new to be used by this version of Lightroom. Would you like to select a different catalog?- However, no update is available. Any idea why this is happening/ how to fix it?
I'm having problems with my primary catalogue, so I'm importing it into a new catalogue to troubleshoot and see if the issues will go away. However, it's already taking over an hr to import, even with virtual copies. I think I'll be better off trying other ideas due to a deadline, and would think that cancelling this shouldn't affect the catalogue being important in any negative way, but wanted to check in first. Should I let this run its course, or can I cancel without fear? I don't care about the new catalogue I just made. Thanks!
I have already read previous message about it but no solution or broken link I try to delete image and I always get this error "?:0: attempt to index field 'rootFile' (a nil value)" I cant find the solution, the folder all in read and delete so what to do ? because I can manage without any issue my external diskthis ,is lightroom 11.3.1 and os 12.3.1 Any idea please ?
Every time I turn on the Spot Removal tool, the photo turns to a black and white sketch looking thing... What's going on?! I've restarted LR as well as my computer. MacOS Mojave 10.14.6. LR Classic 8.4.
Hi, LR Classc version 14.0.1 is all of a sudden missiing the apply button. So now, when I click add, the apply button is misssing, when I hot generate, its removes every single time and is not adding to my selection. Even when I click add, the only button now available, is to 'remove', and it does just that. I click re-generate so many times, and it removes, not adds. I have uninstalled LR, Updated, nothing is working.
Hi there,Just wanted to use LR6 on a new laptop.unlinked it from the old one. After entering the serial - which I confirmed with the support team is all fine and active, the QR prompt to login with adobe results in a cycle. I login, I accept the terms, the window closes and nothing happens anymore. When running LR again, I'm stuck with the login prompt once more. Any ideas? Customer service so far was all but helpful... Thanks!
I have LRC 14.0.1 and want to import a PSE 2025 catalog. It doesn't appear supported yet. When could I expect that? I want to switch over to LRC 🙂 Thanks,Patrick
14.01 on Mac Studio M2 running 15.1.1 from Grid View - Toggling Zoom inconsistently displays Green Image F key inconsistently displays Black Screen size of black or green is dependent on the Zoom Double clicking in the image will zoom just fine. Can't figure this one out.
I'm having real problems using the secondary display in Lightroom since updating to a new M3 Macbook Pro, with dual Apple studio displays. Running LR 13.2, which was fine on my old imac.I normally use one display for the Lightroom main screen and develop module, and the second display with the Lightroom secondary display in Loupe view. This has always worked really well till now, however all if does now is constantly flicker, especially when moving between images. The main trigger seems to be changing the rating of an image, and then the dsecondary display disappears momentarily.Sometimes it just disappears, and I need to click on the main window for it to reappear. It is not my montor connection, as only the LR window flickers, not anything else on the display. I've tried running the main window and secondary display window on the same screen, but it still disappears in the same way, but then bounces back up in the middle of my second display, not where I positioned it. It's
Ligthroom Classic 7.5 Windows10 32 gig of memoryAll Photos is showing 4 gray thumbs that I can't delete. The thumbs are not in my folders, which shows a count of 4 fewer photos than all photos does. When I try to delete the 4 empty thumbs it prompts this error message: an internal error has occurred: ?:0: attempt to index field 'rootFile' (a nil value). Also, the thumbs show no metadata, and a right click to locate in the folder in library returns no results.I have disabled all plugins, no change, synchronize photos, no change, find missing photos, no change. I searched the forum, and the web andhave not found a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob
I recently updated my iOS to Ventura 13.7.1 to be able to downloaded the October updates to LR Classic and PS. After doing so I am finding LRC to be running slow on my iMac. Basically, when moving the sliders there is a delayed reaction that is slowing my workflow down. Currently I have around 275GB of 1TB on my harddrive available and for the most part before doing the update I wouldn't experience a slow down in LR unless I had less than 20% storage space available. If I exit LR and restart my computer it usually runs well for a few minutes and then starts running slow again. I am using a 2017 iMac and running the latest version 14.0.1 Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
I am a hobbyist photographer, and I primarily use Lightroom on MacOS for photo organization (importing and sorting) and editing. I have a collection of approximately 14,000 photos, which totals around 600-700 GB. Currently, my photos are stored across multiple SD cards (used with my camera) and a 2 TB external hard drive that serves as my main storage location. I am considering adding a cloud-based backup for all my photos. My family and I share a 2 TB iCloud Drive subscription, of which only about 450 GB is currently used. I would like to explore the possibility of backing up my photos to iCloud in addition to my external hard drive. Here is my current workflow:I import images from my SD cards into Lightroom.During import, Lightroom saves the images to my external hard drive, organized by year, then quarter, and finally by shoot. My question is whether there is an efficient way to integrate iCloud Drive into this workflow. Specifically:Can I configure Lightroom or my sy
