A simple change that I think would increase quality of life use for Photoshop. It would be helpful if the document I am working on would remember the ruler units that I set for it. I am a designer that is always switching between print and web, thus changing between pixels and inches and mm quite often — several times per day. While it's not difficult to go up to the ruler and right-click to switch the units, I think with all the other information PS documents contain, it wouldn't be too difficult for them to remember the unit of measurement that was previously selected for that particular document.
Es wäre sehr hilfreich, wenn es möglich wäre mit Aktionen Gruppe zu öffnen und zu schließen
Hi, I have an idea that can potentially be a creative way to generate interesting patterns using the gradient tool. I was inspired by the noise gradient type in the gradient editor that offers a roughness slider. This creates sharp and discrete gradient patterns at 100% roughness. However, the smoothness slider in the solid gradient type cannot be used to generate discrete patterns. Imagine I can specify alternating discrete patterns of black and white at every increment of 10% location (using 100% roughness) and use an angle gradient to generate a "light ray effects". This can be interesting. Thanks,Dave Wong
The current version of the focus stacking function in Photoshop produces lousy results and needs to be revamped. (An additional integration into Lightroom Classic (like HDR and Panorama Stitching) would be adequate on this occasion.) It would be nice to be able to thicken the grid lines to make them more visible.
I use Quick Actions more than the other options in the Properties panel (Ps 2022, Win 10). I don't want to have to keep collapsing the Transform, Align/Distribute, Canvas & Rulers and Grids categories in the Properties Panel so I can more easily see/get to the Quick Actions and the link that's there to access more Quick Actions. My idea/proposal is for Adobe Developers to develop the same kind of re-arrangement and/or viewing capabilities in the Ps Properties Panel that they've made available in Adobe Camera Raw. (I'm hoping it's code that could be ported over...). Specifically my idea envisions:(1) Giving users the ability to re-arrange the order of the functional components within the Properties Panel (I'd personally like to be able to put Quick Actions at the top for greater visibility). (2) Allow a mix of expanded and collapsed functional components within the Properties Panel. If we could collapse selective components in the Properties Panel (and hav
I see you took away the Export As> JPG compression's "Good, Very Good, Excellent, Great" and converted it to numbers 1 - 7. This is an improvement but not a good fix. We need the percentages back so that we can regain precise control over our jpgs. Please watch my screen recording to see what we're talking about.
Here is my idea to improve drop shadow:A scale slider (to scale Spread and Size options) or adding a vanishing point option. It will make them look more natural. Thank you.
As any professional user I tend to work a lot with paths. But one thing that drives me crazy is that fact, that when I have both a path and a layer active and use Free Transform the path has priority and gains focus. In some cases that probably makes sense, but I would love the ability to lock paths like you could do with layers. That would also enable us to use paths as guides. There have been numerous feature request on angled or arbitrary guides (like in Illustrator) and I would love them too, but theoretically you could at least use paths as guides. But right now that's a pain because as I said as soon as you hit CMD+T (for Free Transform) you are not working on the layer anymore, you're transforming the path (hence you transform your guide).
I work on a psd file with hundreds of layers. Each layer is uniquely numbered. It's a great feature for Photoshop to save all the layers in batches, but I'm having trouble setting the names of the files. The layers I have are named in the order of 05,04,03,02,01,00, but when you save the layer, strings in the order of 0000,0001,0002,0003,0004,0005 are automatically included in the file name. It will be in reverse of the order I want it to be. I have to do a lot of manual work to turn this around again. Users should be able to select these auto-naming features when saving a layer. Please allow the automatic naming function to be deleted, or auto-naming in the reverse order.
Is there an opacity slider for masks , if not why not?thank you most excellently
Hi Adobe, Upon a latest tech help to fix Creative Cloud from a persistent login issue (which still has me login every..single...time I use Adobe products) , Adobe did a fine job of erasing my 2018 version of Photoshop. Now I'm stuck using the latest one, which isn't really that different, but there's one thing that is super annoying. Upon Save For Web, the Filename extension is highlighted for easy type/replace naming. The really extremely annoying thing is that it highlights the whole dang file including extension. So when I rename the file it removes the extension. (!??!) It's Save for Web -- I ALREADY KNOW IT'S A PNG. What's worse is if I forget to re-type the stupid extension before hitting enter upon rename, I have to go back into Finder (OS X), locate the file and then add the dang extension. It then asks if I want to rename the extensinon, I select yes and then return to Photoshop. I work in ad priduction. Do you know how many times I have to save
When selecting a specific tool in the tool panel, why don't you press the shortcut key continuously so that the detailed options of the selected specific tool can be selected in turns?
I'm very surprised that this isn't already a feature because almost every editing app has it, even photoshop express. I want to be able to correct the hue/saturation on all the colors in the picture. Not just the master. This is one of the editing I do mostly on my pictures. I give you a screenshot from the computer version and one from ps express. Here you can see this is missing on photoshop for iPad. Please fix this as son as possible
I miss this a lot, even photoshop express has it. As for now you can only control HSL for master (all colours at the same time) If i want to make a blue lighter and with less hue and more turquoise i cant do that without effecting the other colours to.
I'm a visually impaired user, and working in "dark mode" allows me to spend more time editing as light backgrounds are extremely tiring. Especially it is very difficult to read black text on a white background. Meaning I have to get much closer to the screen, which causes neck fatigue. The options to customize the user interface and make it darker are great, amd go a long way to helping, but they are incomplete. Dropdown menus and right-click menus remain white. Screenshot so you see what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/wgvoDlj This is an accessibility issue. The workaround is to color-incpvert everything on the screen using Windows accessibility shortcuts, but that slows down the pace of work, amd obviously permanently working color inverted or similar isn't a great idea when editing photos. For context I'm running Photoshop 22.5.0 on Windows 10. Your chat support assures me it is not possible to change the color of these menus currently.
As part of my regular work flow, I will recolor differnt photos of the same product (ex: stacks of folded blankets). To save time I will put all the layer adjustments into a layer group and use the layer menu>Duplicate Group to send the adjustments to the other photos (where I just then have to create new masks). But this can be up to 5 to 20 images. Using the drop down menu for each duplictaion can get tedious. There has to be a better way.
I don't want to have to click on a folder everytime I want to access a swatch. The beauty of Adobe over the decades was that they understood the concept, "why make a user click twice, when once will do." I guess the new generation of programmers grew up in the Microsoft ecosystem where multiple clicks were required to accomplish anything. Please stop fixing things that aren't broke. Production time means money, please stop wasting mine. Upvote it if you agree, please.
Hi, It would be great to allow vector strokes / paths / points to use the Alignment tool when drawing something in Photoshop.. just like it's possible in IllustratorCheers
I often spend long enough hunting through the preferences tab in Photoshop that it makes me seriously consider how much I really want to change a preference. In mac os preferences, however, I just go right in and search for what I want. I never even try to hunt it down manually; the process is so simple and fast. Please impliment this in Photoshop.
When someone first installs Photoshop, and try to save a Photoshop document they will be presentet with a dialog asking if they want to "Maximize Compatibility". New users have no idea what this means, and it is extremely rare that a user would benefit from unchecking this option. For Experienced users it's just a minor nuisance, and they can check "Don't show again" to get rid of the dialog box. The setting is controlled from Preferences > File Handling > File Compatibility, and I propose simply changing this default from "Ask" to "Always". A simple change, that removes an annoying and unnesscessary dialog when saving, resulting in a better/smoother experience for new (and experienced) users, while still allowing users with special needs to go into Preferences to change it.
The Move Tool currently defaults ot Auto-Select being enabled by default. This was changed a few years ago, we're past all the confusion this caused, so we've had time to see how well this change worked (or not). Argument for keeping it: New users who don't understand layers can click on this on the image to move them, and this can be intuitive for someone completely new to Photoshop. Unfortunately, in my experience (doing support on /r/Photoshop and holding Photoshop classes) this option being enabled by default causes more problems than it solves, and experienced users tend to turn it off. With overlapping layers it is easy to move the wrong layer as it will usually grab the top layer, making it "impossible" to move the desired layer.Example: Here, clicking the icon will grab the text layer. Not what new users expect!Example: Here, clicking the icon will grab the adjustment layer on top. Not what new users expect! Inexperienced users who are not aware of this settin
If someone installs Photoshop in one language (e.g. Norwegian), then want to switch it over to English, it is not intuitive. Changing language after installation is a shared UX problem for every CC app, but they employ different solutions so it's very inconsistent. If someone shows up with e.g. a norwegian-language Photoshop, then the steps to change language ends up like this:1. Quit Photoshop2. Go to the CC Desktop App3. Settings, apps, and change install language to English (International).4. Back5. Wait for list to update6. Click Install behind Photoshop and wait for installation7. Start Photoshop (it's still Norwegian!?). Not what the user expects.8. Go to Preferences, look around until you find the relevant language dropdown which now has both Norwegian and English in it. Change and restart. It would be *oh so much* better if we could start directly at step 8, show all languages in the list, and then give a message saying you need to restart Ps for the changes to take effect (it wo
Today, under Edit > Color Settings you can turn on warning for profile mismatches and missing profiles when opening images, but not when pasting something with a missing profile. There is a nice empty spot where the option would sit: This feature would be very useful when copy/pasting from outside Photoshop where you very often end up pasting untagged image data - so it doesn't convert automatically.A very common practical scenario is when pasting a screenshot. To get the colors accurate you would first need to assign the display profile to the screenshot, then convert it to e.g. sRGB (or whatever you use for editing). So you can't paste a screenshot directly into a document (unless that document happens to be using the display profile). The dialog/warning should be similar to the other 3 "ask when"-warnings, and have two options:1. Choose a profile for pasted image using a drop-down (preserve color appearance)2. Don't convert (preserve color numbers)
Problem: Blurring causes banding/posterization (for 8-bit/channel files). It is most apparent with very heavy (large radius) blurs. Gaussian blur is the most commonly used blur filter. I suggest adding a dithering option to it (for adding a diffusion dither). A simple checkbox would do: Side notes: If someone has visible banding, they might try to use gaussian blur to blend the steps to fix it. This will often not work well (if in 8-bit) since Gaussian Blur isn't dithered. A workaround is to use the old Spatter filter set to Smoothness 1 (after the gaussian blur). Very few people would be aware of this, so it would be better if Gaussian Blur did a better job! 🙂
