Photoshop

A partial layer appears in my Photoshop image after modifying a smart object image in camera raw following the addition of a mask layer.  The new partial layer appears when I return from camera raw to Photoshop. This problem just started a few days ago.  I have tried numerous techniques like double clicking on the camera raw icon, but the problem persists.  Your solution to this problem is greatly appreciated.

I have a bunch of fossils I am editing and would like to remove the background from them as easy and as painless as I can. I have over 140 of them that are going in a book

i am used to a tick to the right of the crop tool options bar - its comforting - i know i can press enter but…...help please...

I have had this issue with all versions of Photoshop past v 26.4.1 whereby I can’t close the app without crashing, even immediately after opening. I tried all the solutions I could find and out of desperation, I reset Windows completely and was able to get it to work for five days before it happens again. For context, I am using a Legion Pro 7i, with both Intel and Nvidia drivers, all up to date. I can’t make any preferences changes on the app itself because the app would crash and therefore not save the changes made. I open PS and amend a photo in ACR. But when I then go to open the file in PS the photo appears all bleached out. This happens also if I open a photo in ACR and don’t amend it. I’ve looked at the colour space and they are the same. This has happened recently, within the last week as prior to this everything was working perfectly

I updated to PS v27.8 and it will not open, no matter how I try. I've restarted my desktop, tried opening directly, tried opening a file, tried opening through Creative Cloud, and I only get a Crash report to fill out. I did the upgrade a couple days ago (Sunday 6/21/2026), and haven’t been able to open Photoshop since. I REALLY need to be able to use it ASAP.

im getting a bit desperate, i dont know what to do..Since this morning, any version of Photoshop i try keeps getting laggier and laggier. It started with the scrubby zoom, then the brush, the ruler etc.Despite that, my pc is running well ( 32Go RAM, 8Go VRAM ). I tried to follow many guides and tried this so far: resetting the preferences; changing the options in the performance tab (including enabling and disabling gpu mode); closing other apps; cleaning my pc from eventual craps ( there’s 150Go of free data on my driver right now); reinstalling the Photoshop; using other Photoshop versions; reinstalling my gpu drivers;The lags keep getting worse and worse (linked a video to show the lag) . I have no ideas what to do to fix this problems, it’s especially problematic since i use Photoshop daily.  Thank you in advance :)

Hi, So I already saw someone else ask a similar question however the Adobe people who replied were not at all helpful on that post so I am going to ask myself and make it super clear so that there is no confusion. So here is my problem: I've never had this issue before. I am using the most updated version of Photoshop. I am trying to create a singular line using the line tool. Whenever I use the line tool, it turns it into a very thin rectangle. It is deceiving at first because it looks like one line, however, it provides 6 points overlapping each other, which indicates that it is a rectangle (cause it is) I reset the tool already but it still does this.  I want to specifically use a dashed line, however because the line tool creates a rectangle, the dashed line looks funny because it is essentially two lines overlapping each other.  I have seen moderators say that the tool has always been like this, which I absolutely beg to differ and I am sure other art

Depuis la dernière mise à jour de Windows, j'ai des problèmes avec Photoshop. Lorsque je clique sur le tableau du dossier pour ouvrir un fichier, Photoshop se bloque. Impossible d'ouvrir une image. Il est nécessaire que je me tourne vers Alt+Supp pour le contraindre. De la même manière, lorsque j'enregistre un travail, quelquefois,  il me refuse l’accès au dossier d'enregistrement et se bloque. Donc, je force la fermeture pour perdre mon travail. Je vous prie de trouver une solution à ce problème. Dans le cas contraire, je serais contraint d’annuler mon abonnement.

Photoshop 2025 bug: auto numbering in lists using text tool causes file corruptionI have identified a bug. I noticed that a new feature was when you use the text tool and type1. text 2. text 3. text this triggers auto numbering.  Well it took me four hours to figure out this is what was currupting my files and it is very repeatable When you try to reopen the file, it says a problem wont allow it.   The auto numbering in text tool had been working ok without file corruption until very recently.   If I paste a list in text tool with numbers alread in place, it corrupts the file if I start inserting numbers before a list in the text tool, it corrupts   my work around is this: I type or paste this: text text text   to create a numbered list i do this:   t1. ext t2. ext t3. ext   than i backspace to remove the first letter to create my desire:   1. text 2. text 3. test   the auto numbering feature either needs to be removed or fixed   under

I am using M5 Pro Macbook Pro and it always crashes PS when i try to open my raw images - for HDR blending. It did work until the latest update, but since I updated PS and LrC, it just does not want to do it. Fix would be urgently needed for me, since I have tons of images that must be edited asap. Please fix this bug. I tried everything at this point, even sent reports on it too through the crash report.

I just updated my Adobe Photoshop to Adobe Photoshop 2026 on my HP Envy x360 2 in 1 labtop 14. I realized quickly I can't remove backgrounds or select a subject. For when I select subject the text comes up saying: " Couldn't find a a subject to select, there might not be prominent objects in the image", even though clearly there is a subject. For the when I want to use remove background it says: "Couldn't find background when there is clearly a background.

Hi when I begin to edit anything in PS I’m seeing the image darken as I interact with it. When i uncheck the “Use Graphics Prosessor” tick box it doesnt happen. I own a legitimate Photoshop CS5 perpetual license.The serial number is valid, but Adobe's activation server says it has already been activated on two computers.Those computers were replaced many years ago and no longer exist, therefore I cannot deactivate them.I only intend to use Photoshop on one current computer.Is there any current method in 2026 for Adobe to clear the two orphaned activations from the activation server?I can provide proof of ownership and registration if required.

I am experiencing significant issues with the Adobe Firefly Model 5 in Photoshop version 27.10. Compared to previous versions, the model’s performance has declined considerably. I prefer using the native model over partner models, as the latter often result in lower resolution and image displacement after generation. Additionally, I have noticed that the specific brightness tool I rely on is missing, and the current "Light" tool does not provide the same functionality or results. Could you please advise on how I can restore the previous behavior or locate these missing tools in the current version?

Quando eu termino de editar a imagem e vou exportar pra salvar no PC, não exporta. Carrega em 95% mas não exporta a imagem 

It truly drives me nuts that often when I click on a layer (in the layers panel) to then do something directly to that layer on the canvas, it many times will start working on / activate a different overlapping or adjacent layer, most times an adjustment layer. But of course it could be any layer that happens to be in the same vicinity. Is there any way to deactivate this? Photoshop didn't used to do this. You had to click on a layer (in the panel) to change it or work on it. My workaround is to temporarily lock or hide the layer I don't want to accidentally select, but it is silly that I have to do that. Whoever thought that clicking on a layer (to change to another layer) directly on the canvas was a good idea, probably doesn't actually USE photoshop on a regular basis. I cannot be the only person who hates this (?) Help!
