As the title says when I open an image in PS it starts going dark and light and keeps doing it.
Is there an easier way to duplicate a linked layer and unlink it from the original link so I can re-link that one instance to something else?Right now I’m duplicating the layer, making a smart object, and then double clicking into the smart object and re-linking. So every time my linked file changes, I have to go individually into each smart layer to update the link. Kind of a PITA. Back-story: making mockups of different label interations on the same package rendering (today, a bag of frozen chicken wings, woo hoo!). In this case, I’ve got all my labels in one Ps file and then turning on one layer at a time to export them as PNGs to place into a presentation document (Illustrator). Another way I sometimes do it is to create a separate Ps file for each instance of a link, but then I still have to open each file to update the link… Can I do something like this if I use artboards in Ps instead of just layers? I’d like to be able to open a file, have all the links update, and then export
I updated PS this morning and when I try to use the bandaid, wet brush or remove tool I get a pop up that says “is still downloading. Download complete “ then PS freezes. I have tried restarting the program several times.
I have IMac 2017 with OS Monterey, I have installed Photoshop 2025, now my I Mac is working very slow, Please suggest
Steps to reproduce:Any emoji at the start of layer name Long layer name that causes truncation ellipsis (...)If emoji at start AND no truncation, performance remains stable. If no emoji at start AND truncation, performance remains stable. Only when both emoji at start and truncation exists do you run into performance issues. This only affects the active tab and doesn’t seem to spike up CPU, but when you have many of these layers it becomes unusable.Solution for now is to remove the emoji at the start. Hi, I am on Photoshop 27.10 but it’s a bug I have experienced in several previous versions, too. Yet I have used Photoshop for 20 years and didn’t notice it before the last year or so.The bug happens when I have several files opened at once and i switch between each of them (working a bit on one then clicking and working on one another, eyedropping/selecting one color from one file then using it to fill a selection in one another ect). Currently it happens when I have seven 600ppp CMYK files opened. When the files are opened, everything works fine for quite a long time, then the bug happens after 1 hour or so : when i switch from one file to another and i start working on any layer of it, suddenly I see that the file is lagging like hell : every action takes 1 second or more to be implemented (a brush stroke, a magic wand selection etc). I can’t work on the file anymore and have to shut it down. Then several things can happen : when the file is shut, i can still work normally on the othe
Overnight, reference accuracy in Nanobanana Pro inside PS is absolutely terrible. Like, non-existant. And the reference image button is gray randomly. Are these known issues? If so, I need to cancel my three weekly credit re-ups…
On an Intel Mac with Tahoe 26.2.2. The file psa.prf does not exist either on my computer or on any backup disk. Pressing shift while opening Organizer still leads to a crash so I cannot create, repair, optimize or reset a catalogueThe folder OLS does not existI’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. The color profile file is not loading incorrectlyMore recent versions of Elements (2027) do not install (Error Code 103) despite using two different browsers (Safari and Firefox) and reloading multiple times.

I was working in Photoshop 2026 on my MacBook, using my magic wand tool as I always do, no issues. Somehow, I accidentally popped out the Core Tools bar from the window. It took me a minute to figure out how to get it back into place, but, when I did get it back, the magic wand to was not available to select anymore. It has always been in the group with the Object Selection Tool and Quick Selection Tool. That group is still there with the other two tools, but the Magic Wand Tool is just gone. What happened to it? What did I do? And, most importantly, how do I get my magic wand tool back? (I’ve been using Ps 2025 in the interim.) TIA.
Smudge tool lightens near-white edges in 8-bit RGB on Apple Silicon; same stroke is clean in 16-bit.Product: Photoshop (desktop), Apple Silicon M1Mode: RGB/8, Strength ~90%, Mode Normal StepsOpen an 8-bit RGB photo with a thin dark line on a near-white area (ceramic rim, paper edge, etc.). Smudge tool, Normal, Strength 90%, Finger Painting off. Stroke along/across that line. Convert the same file to 16 Bits/Channel and repeat the same stroke.Result: In 8-bit the stroked area lightens / washes out. In 16-bit it only smudges.Expected: 8-bit high-strength Smudge should move pixels without lifting luminance.Notes: Happens at the Strength needed to move a thin edge. Workaround is convert to 16-bit, smudge, convert back — not acceptable as daily practice.
Since the most recent PS 26 - 27.9.1- possibly a little earlier, Mask edges in mask view mode are extremely banded, no matter how much you feather and even whilst working in 16 bit. It seems to be more of a view-mode issue rather than actually showing as banding on the image - however it makes masking difficult to work with.detailed mask work showing banding in 16bit feathered mask edge banding
PS 27.8.0An error message pops immediately upon choosing the local device option for Remove Tool processing.GPU has 12 (just under 12) of ram on the card which is higher than listed requirements for this.Checked sys info and PS sees the GPU’s ram so I’m not sure where the disconnect is in the ram check sparking this error. Attached. screenshot showing error message and portion of sys info scrolled to gpu data seen.

The Adobe Firefly connector in Codex is repeatedly failing with:HTTP 403 Forbidden — “MCP streamable transport probe failed”Endpoint: https://photoshop-mcp-service.adobe.io/v3-creativity-b8f2a/mcpThe connector worked briefly and successfully generated images, but then began returning this error again. It occurs before Firefly receives the prompt, even when generating one image at a time. Disconnecting, reconnecting and restarting the app have not resolved it. Please investigate the connector’s authentication/transport authorization.
To better explain the situation, I will attach a screenshot. This is rather annoying and I don’t know how to move the small tiles out of the main workspace. There at the right side.
Please restore the "Delete Hidden Layers" command in the Layers panel menu.In recent versions of Photoshop (27.8), the Delete Hidden Layers command has disappeared from the Layers panel menu. It used to be available directly from the panel and was an essential productivity feature for many professional users.Removing this shortcut forces users to perform additional steps for a very common housekeeping task. This is a regression in usability rather than an improvement. Please restore Delete Hidden Layers to the Layers panel menu, where it was for many years. It was easy to find, consistent with professional workflows, and saved valuable time when cleaning complex PSD files. Many long-time Photoshop users rely on this command every day. Bringing it back would improve workflow efficiency at virtually no cost. Thanks a lot in advanceBest regardsCleo (senior art director and graphic designer with over 20 years of daily Photoshop use)
I am currently working on a Mac mini, Tahoe 26.7. I have the Creative Cloud Photography plan with 1 TB on a yearly plan. The issue that I have been experiencing is the inability to use the REMOVE TOOL when taking an image from Lightroom Classic into Photoshop. When I click on the remove tool, I get a message: Required components are being downloaded. Check back later to use the feature once the download is complete. I do that, hit ok and nothing. I will try again and hit cancel and briefly a message says that the download successfully installed. There is still no change to the situation and the option bar for the remove tool does not appear. The mouse just turns into a cross hair.I also noted that the PS icon appears again on my dock when I am working in photoshop in this situation. I am not sure if this is a relevant matter. I am running Lightroom 15.5.1, camera raw 18.5.1 and Photoshop 2026, 27.10.0 release.I have spent 3 hours on 3 separate occasions with tech support at Ado
