I’ve been running into an issue with large PSD files (1GB+). Even with a decent machine (32GB RAM, SSD, dedicated GPU), Photoshop starts lagging after multiple smart objects + adjustment layers.I’ve tried:Converting layers to smart objectsLinked vs embedded smart objectsIncreasing cache levels & scratch disk spaceDisabling GPU accelerationStill facing slowdowns after a while. My questions for the community:How do you optimize performance when working with large, complex PSDs?Are there “best practices” for managing smart objects, adjustment layers, or linked assets in big projects?Any hidden tips/tricks for speeding up workflows at scale?Would love to hear how other pros handle heavy Photoshop projects without constant lag or crashes.
There has to be a way to loosen the restrictions on generative fill and Firefly, working with bikini and lingerie images makes using it impossible. as soon as i select some skin photoshop is suddenly a conservative dad.I just want to replace the models leg and generative AI can help in seconds but forces me to suffer for 15 minutes of manipulation and colour grading like a chump using Adobe CS6. TLDR: Adobe please let us use AI on skin and blonde hair.
Hello, can you please enable layers with pictures using indexed colors please?when working with this kind of content, it's really a nightmare not having access to layers Best regards,
I have an Adobe Pro license but I cannot access the pro features on Photoshop Web - the crowns are all inaccessible. Please help! Thank you!

Gracias
Hello everyone, I’ve written an ExtendScript panel for Photoshop that opens a custom dialog via File > Export > My Script. However, I’ve noticed that if a user clicks the menu item multiple times, it opens multiple instances of the same window. I want to ensure only one instance of the dialog is open at a time—a common feature in many apps. For example, even in modded apps like [link removed] you typically can’t open the same chat window twice; it just brings the existing one to focus. What’s the best practice in ExtendScript to achieve this? Should I use a global variable to check if the window exists, or is there a more robust method using window.find()? Thanks for your help!
Hi all,I'm trying to create (for personal use) the image below. I have a hi-res version of the dog head on the person's body but it is simply black and white without the sort of illustrative distortion that you see in the below image. Here is the comparsion - Any ideas? The purpose of this project is to recreate the scan of the cover art in high resolution for my music library. Thank you!
How do I upscale an image from fire fly with very low resolution to 30x40 Extra -Large 3:4. 9000x12000 to upload to gelato
I have not come across any option in Photoshop that can separate colors strictly according to theoretical principles. Here’s the basic theory that should ideally be followed:1. Tertiary colors: These are created by mixing primary and secondary colors, as shown in image (A). For example, orange is a mix of red and yellow. If red is completely removed, as in image (B), it should also be removed from orange, leaving only a shade of yellow.2. Complete removal of primaries: If red, green, and blue are entirely removed from an image, as in image (C), the affected areas should appear gray. The luminance values should follow the correct order: blue (lowest), red, then green. According to the standard grayscale conversion formula Y = 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B, the expected luminance values are: -Blue: 29 -Red: 76 -Green: 150So far, I haven’t found any option in Photoshop that truly separates colors according to theory. Is there a recommended approach, workaround, or thir
I really like Photoshop but occasionally improvements appear to be a backward step to me.The easiest way to explain this change is that on all previous versions, if I save a Raw image to Jpeg, do a change to the image, then save again and it would automatically save it back to the previous locasion and file format. Now every option defaults to .PSD. In preferences > File Handling, I have the legacy box ticked for Legacy Save As but it doesn't help. Pease return to save as previous file fomat.Regards Geoff Reader
Recent updates have removed the cursor on the remove tool, Mac OS edition, silicone. This is not the case on the Beta Version and I can't figure out what is going on. I can't find how wide the brush is until I start generating an overlay. Wonder if there is a wat to reset this or if I have turned it off by mistake. I am using the standard cursors..
I have an ExtendScript, which has this/* <javascriptresource> <name>My Script</name> <category>scriptexport</category> <menu>export</menu> <about>Some description</about> <eventid>Some ID</eventid> </javascriptresource> */When I go to File > Export > MyScript, it opens a window/dialog, which allows the user to provide some inputs. Now, I just realise that, if I click on File > Export > MyScript multiple times, it will keep opening new windows. Is it possible to prevent this, i.e. at most 1 window should be opened at a time? It’s probably possible but is there an easy way to do it? If not, what do you recommend?
Hello everyone, this code retrieved with xtools from a saved action selects the gradient:function Action1() { // Select function step1(enabled, withDialog) { if (enabled != undefined && !enabled) return; var dialogMode = (withDialog ? DialogModes.ALL : DialogModes.NO); var desc1 = new ActionDescriptor(); var ref1 = new ActionReference(); ref1.putName(cTID('Grdn'), "Foreground to Transparent"); desc1.putReference(cTID('null'), ref1); executeAction(cTID('slct'), desc1, dialogMode); }; step1(); // Select };but it uses the name to select the "foreground to Transparent" gradient, which I assume would be different if Photoshop is installed with another language. Is there a reliable way to select it?
In my script, I have some alerts and confirms (e.g. if I detect a problem, I may use a confirm to ask the user if they want to proceed). Now, often this works well, but sometimes the confirm dialogs remains open after I click "yes" or "no". I suppose this is similar to my other problem. I tried to place a app.refresh() after some of those dialogs, but the issue still happens. Do you know how to definitively solve this issue?
In trying to use the lasso tool one of two things are occurring:(1) I receive this message -- "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edge will not be visible."(2) When I release my pen tool the selection mysteriously shrinks to a size smaller than I had selected. Is there a solution to this problem?
I get these messages (There was a problem with generator) and (The operation could not be completed. The system cannot find the path specified) . Save for web does not work now also.
Good evening. I use both photoshop and lightroom CC for my image workflow on MacOS. I noticed recently that Lightroom was way behind and lagging when I moved through the grid, the images would take seconds to switch. This just started recently happening and I wanted to dig in. I nailed the problem down to Photoshop not releasing memory when I close images. I have many computers but take a Macbook Pro with a M2 MAX process, 32 GB of ram with me on the road. Typically I will edit for hours after a shoot. This involves a ton of graphics, especially when moving between lightroom and photoshop. Howevcer I don't usually have more that 5 images open at a time on PS. I close each image after editing to push bak into lightroom after adding graphic bat have found that Photoshop only releases partial memory for each image closed and memory grows progressively over time. Today I found that Photoshop was using over 22GB of ram at idle with no images open. I am currently on version 26.10.0. Sit
Buenos dias! con la ultima actualización de Photoshop no abre el programa! como lo solucionaron?
Hello folks,Is it possible to copy-merge to clipboard without selecting the whole document first? better yet, is it possible to do that for the whole document even if we have a selection (ignoring it)? currently I have a function that selects the whole document, copy-merges, then deselects again. but for advanced functionalities, I want to keep my current selection and copy-merge to clipboard, without having to first save my selection, select the whole document, then copy-merge before reloading my selection.
Looking to recolour this knited beanie, into three new shades, however it's proving to be beyond my Photoshop abilities. Any recomendations on how best to replace each colour, would much appreciated.
