Let us rename the RAW file in the smart object, that's it!I've spent hours chatting with adobe agents on this subject with no result on what should be a relatively simple function. The smart object is not linked so I should be able to name it whatever I want without consequences to my work and/or workflow. thanks
HelloCan anyone help? Since the update at the end of May 2023, the brush shortcut for size and hardness control no longer works (ctrl + Alt + Right Mouse + drag left/right).I have gone into any tool, preferences to check, tried other keyboard shortcuts and watched tutorials. I even uninstalled and reinstalled PS.I suspect it's a bug, has anyone had the same problem or solved it already? Thanks
With the recent Camera RAW 18.4.1 update, a generative expand feature has been added to the geometry panel. Now, when I hit enter after setting alignment it starts trying to generative fill the image instead of saving my settings and exiting Camera RAW. Is there a way to disable the generative fill part of the panel or bypass it? It’s a minute detail, but I’m processing a lot of photos and generative fill now prioritizing the panel (when I almost never use it) and having to mouse back over to “ok” when I’m flying through on shortcuts it’s throwing me off.
The new Discover panel is a total nuisance. It pops up in front of my work all the time. If I close it, it just jumps back up. How do I disable it?
Adobe Photoshop Version: 27.8.0 20260610.r.13 4081857 x64 (final, Release)When using generative AI and a image is returned in the new layer i’ll notice absolutely nothing was changed. Not that i didn’t like it, but nothing was changed. if i change the model then something is returned with some changes based off my prompt. Here is the thing though. My credits get subtracted even when no changes were done. I mean pixel for pixel no difference. I report all of them. I also notice a lot more orange notifications popping up saying they can’t do this or that becuase of policy which is a complete false positive as if i run it again it works just fine. But even when it can’t do anything or tells me it was in violation even though it wasn’t, i get credits taken out. When doing images it only happens maybe 5-7 times a month. But when working on videos and the same thing happens thats a lot of credits that get taken back. even with Claude or Codex or ChatGPT they issue credits refunds
Often, work involves a file with several artboards or more (like one job I had 100 artboards) and would be great to be able to right click on an artboard layer and select View Artboard and my screen goes to that artboard. Saves time zoom panning to find it. TY!
Hello Adobe Photoshop Team,I would like to report a regression affecting the Quick Mask and Generative Fill workflow used to create watercolour, oil-painting and other generative art effects.Adobe previously demonstrated this workflow using Quick Mask to create an intensity-based selection, followed by Generative Fill through the Contextual Task Bar:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4THG0IPx9hchttps://www.adobe.com/learn/photoshop/web/create-art-styles-generative-fillWorkflow that previously workedOpen an image in Photoshop. Enter Quick Mask Mode. Fill the mask with a controlled percentage of grey to determine the strength of the generative transformation. Exit Quick Mask Mode to convert the mask into a selection. Use Generative Fill from the Contextual Task Bar. Enter a prompt such as “watercolour painting” or “oil painting.”This produced highly useful painterly interpretations while retaining the composition and visual structure of the original image.Current problemIn newer Photoshop u

When applying Shadows/Highlights (show more options) the radius settings for both Shadows and Highlights reset every time you make a change anywhere in the dialogue box.Photoshop 27.8.0 MacOS 26.5.2With an image open Image > Adjustments > Shadows/Highlights Show more Options selected make ajustments, e.g. set Shadow value, set Tone value, set Radius value. When you attempt to make any other change Radius resets back to 0.In the previous versions Radius did not reset.Video attached.
After the latest update, Photoshop (27.1 /win 11) started showing a very unpleasant bug.As soon as I open a PSD file, without doing anything (just by selecting a few layers), the fill content of several "fill layers" changes automatically. This happens with simple "Shape layers", rectangles.See my history state without doing anything elese but selecting a few layers in the freshly opened PSD: For example, a layer that originally had a black fill suddenly has a gradient applied. In another layer with a gradient, the orientation gets flipped by 180 degrees. It may seem random, but I suspect the "shape layer fill" is automatically set according to the first selected layer in a row! In any case, it completely ruins the opened document. I can re‑set the layers, but the same thing happens again the next time I open it. It’s extremely frustrating — basically, it makes the program unusable! I might try downgrading to a lower version to see if that helps. Please fix this serious issue ASAP.
Looking for some help with a custom script, hopefully someone has some insight for me. My end goal is to have a single PSD file with a set of images, each placed on their own artboard, with all artboards being a consistent size (in pixels). I can't use a batch process or anything traditional because I need the user to be able to adjust the placement of each photo within the artboard before exporting the resized images. Breaking it down a bit, I'm looking for the script to do the following actions: Have the user input a desired width and height for the artboards to be set to. These values will be the same across all the artboards (only need to prompt once), but it's important that the user is prompted for the dimensions since they will change. Have the user select a set of images from their computer to import (these will be a mix of sizes and aspect ratios, but always flat images.) Import all the images into their own individual artboards within a single PSD, with all
I know how to export to each psd file using the photoshop variables. But I want to know how to replicate artboards with the data in my csv file.
Device-mode Select Subject appears to leak retained memory by approximately 2–3 GB per image, even on small images around 1500–2000 px on the long side. Photoshop memory is limited to ~35 GB on a 64 GB Windows system, but once the retained memory reaches the Photoshop ceiling, the entire machine becomes nearly unusable despite apparent free RAM remaining.Cloud mode behaves differently: memory rises during Select Subject, then partially drops, and accumulates much more slowly. This strongly suggests the issue is specific to the local Device processing path rather than the images or action.Edit > Purge > All does not release the memory.Closing documents does not release the memory.Only quitting Photoshop clears it.After several images, Device mode begins falsely reporting that no subject/object can be found. This makes batch editing workflows a joke, because after 5 or 6 images using on device, the Select Subject starts reporting it can’t find subjects, even though they are there. The zoom using the option + scroll wheel in Photoshop on MacOS is too fast. It zooms in and out way too much with a slight scroll. I use the latest Photoshop version and I have this issue on both Magic Mouse and Magic MX 4. I tried googling the problem but still couldn't figure it out. Is there any newest working solutions to this problem?
mac, M1 MacOS 26.5.2 Adobe PS 27.8.0 Wand tool is not working. I have it sampling 3x3 pixels with a tolerance of 10. No matter what setting I use, using the wand tool selects the entire image. I’ve tried several images. I’ve opened and closed PS. It’s just all of a sudden very broken. I try quick selection, and that too is ignoring vastly different colors and it’s just acting like a marque tool.
I continue to have problems with Adobe and Partner generative tools returning terrible faces - the AI changes eye direction, adds smiles, adds glasses, changes expressions. So frustrating. A recent AI chat session here said to add statement like “Do NOT alter facial features" "Preserve every face exactly as it appears” That didn’t work either. The AI response said not to use “RESTORE” commands but instead just colorize. Kind of defeats my goal. Can any one help? This is taking hours and hours and multiple passes in the hopes of lucking out. Surely there is a simple way to adress this?
My computer: iMac (3,6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9, AMD Radeon Pro 5700 8 GB, 32GB 2667 MHz DDR4)Problem: PS 27.8 does not bootWhat does Adobe recommend for running PS 27.8 on an iMac?
Whenever I try to use my rectangular marquee tool, I get this:I am using version 27.8.0 on a Win 11 machine. I have been careful to make sure the correct layer is selected. I have no trouble with the lasso tools or select and mask, or with the other marquee tools. What is happening here?
Issue Summary:Using “Select > Subject” on an image triggers a hard crash of the entire machine with the error “Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x38) What failed: nviddmkm.sys”Sometimes results in corruption of the image that the command is run on as well as other images that are open at the same time making them no longer usable.Doesn’t occur every time the command is run.Workaround:Changing the preference “Image Processing > Select Subject and Remove Background” to "Cloud" prevents the issue.Documenting this issue here so maybe it might get fixed properly allowing local processing.Driver Info:Latest Nvidia Studio Driver 610.62Photoshop System Info and video of the crash occurring are attached.
When using Photoshop's Image Processor on my RAW files from Bridge (.CR2 files), every 2-5 photos (so far maximum ~12) I get an error telling me to check my access rights to the folder. I made sure there were no outstanding Adobe updates, restarted my computer (Dell XPS 15, Windows 10), waited a whole day, tried new folders in various locations, checked security permissions for the folders involved and security permissions for all Adobe program folders (i.e. Program Files, App Data, etc.). I have no idea how to fix this. I've tried Googling, but I can't seem to figure this out. Below is the error I am getting, which is for the JPEG folder the program itself created.

Make it easier to use for people. I now need to learn this because it is hard to use. Please make it easier to use by not making it impossible to scroll around and throw off people using easier tools.
Please can we have a colour picker in the neural filtre that adds colour to a black and white (technically grey scale) image. It would make the whole process a lot easier if we could choose a very specific colour to add manually to a section of a photograph, if the neural filtre doesn’t quite achieve the desired result by itself.
