Photoshop Elements

I have purchased PSE 2024. The content aware is grayed out? Need help!

This just happened out of the blue this morning, was working fine last night. The problem is that my text is stuck in upper case. 1. The caps lock key is not on 2. I am not using an all upper case text- it happens regardless of font type 3. I have tried to reset my tools and it hasn't worked. Any ideas? Oh and I am using PSE6.0

I realize Photoshop Elements 15 is an old version at this point but I'm actually more accustomed to working with Photoshop Elements 10! I'm trying to replicate something I did in Elements 10 all the time using Elements 15 instead.   In Elements 10, I would often open an image and create a complex selection. Then, I might want to use that same selection in a second image. So I would open the second image. Then return to the first image (with the selection active). And I would drag the second image from the Project Bin and drop it onto the first image in the main window. That would effectively add the second image as a new layer in the first image, which would allow me to apply the selection I created to the second image.   I can't seem to do that in Elements 15. I have both images open. In the first image, I create my selection. But I can't click and drag the second image and drop it onto the first image to add it as an additional layer. Can someone explain how I would do that

Elements 20 already installed on max number of computers, but don't have access to old machine to deactivate program.   I just spent the last hour on chat with Adobe Support, which is completely useless for me.  I was told that because version 20 is no longer supported, they can not help me activate my software.  She suggested I upgrade, to which I replied Why would I ever purchase anything else from Adobe when I already bought this software and they refuse to activate it???  She says I was allowed 2 activations, but the software is only installed on one other machine, and I don't have that computer in my possession anymore to physically deactivate it.  She said the servers are no longer active because they no longer support this version. Is there any known workaround for this issue?  I can't be the only one that no longer has an old computer to deactivate the program!Thanks in advance! Colleen

This seems to run all the time, even when I am not using the program.

I put 2024 on my Macbook Air (M2), and got a temporary version on my PC. I then used the PC version to convert my PSE 2020 catalog, no problem. Then I backed up the converted catalog to external exFat disk, again no problem. When I try to restore to the Macbook, however, PSE crashes right before finishing (although only about 1/2 the folders appear on the disk). I have tried multiple ways with no luck. I wondered if I could copy over all the folders with the images, then do a backup of the catalog structure and restore just that. I am going to leave everything on EHD due to size limitations. Is this a feasible solution?

Sorry, I'm sure this is a simple one. The title says it all... I did something that replaced my usual pane showing the layers in my image with one showing Artistic/Classic "thingies" (I don't even know what they are called as I don't use PE for anything artistic). I do need those layers, though, as I copy some from one image to another. Advice, please...Paul.

I have a Canon EOS750D which I have used Photoshop Element 15 to edit photos for several years.  Today when I tried to open a file it gave me about 25% of the image then pixilated junk for the rest.  When I re-downloaded the file from my camera SD card it refused to recognise itat all!  The file opens fine in Windows photos application?  I have tried the Adobe DNG converter and it too refuses to recognise the format at all.  A lot of my photo archive is stored in CR2 file format so an very worried!  Would a newer version of Elements help? Do I need to turn off the CR2 format on the camera?Any advice would be welcome. 

I've been told in a response to a related questions I asked in another thread that when I move photos within Organizer the files will be renamed with a -1 suffix. But the original photos are actually duplicated, not overwritten!! Why?!Upon opening Organizer for the first time, I decided to better organize my photos and moved around hundreds of them. That's what you do with an organizer, right?!So I check my Windows 10 Pictures folder and find hundreds of exact duplicates (same size, dimensions, etc) of the photos I moved. These duplicate photos do NOT show in Organizer, only on my hard drive. I deleted them only to find that Organizer now says these photos are missing....and I have to reconnect each.Why does Organizer make duplicates? They consume disk space, a precious commodity for those of us who have a very modestly sized Solid-state drive.

I was using Photoshop Elements 30 day trial, finished compositing an image and couldn't export it because the export button was grayed out. There doesn't seem to be anything that happens when I try to click "Export" that tells me why this is. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is or how i can fix it? Are you unable to export during your 30 day trial or something? 

Hi again I have Photoshop 12 Elements and had to Uninstall, then Reinstall  the program, but then had Invalid S/N issues, but resolved that w/Adobe Support. The Elements App is working now, but I plug in my Camera to download pixtures under Organizer, to a camera device its always worked with before, but now when I get to the photos from camera Download window I get No Device Found ?  Even after Refresh List several times. Had this App long time, & its always worked, now after all this, Elements itself works and I can access my foldered pix, but App does not recognize my camera its always worked with to download the photos after I refresh list. How do I get program to work with my camera again....a Canon SD1100 IS. Appreciate any direction on this. Best regards

My Mac Book Pro 2023 won't accept my Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 

Hello.I use Photoshop Elements 2021 for Mac.I have an RGB image that is a logo : gray images and black text on transparent background. I would like to change black to red (and therefore gray to light red...). How can I do? 

I can load Organiser but when I try to load Editor it crashes saying it can't find ippcvy8.dll,When I check Support it says the reason is SSE4.2 is required for latest version.I am running an intel i7 processor with SSE4.2, still crashes.

I have not had this issue before. I uploaded or imported from my SD card through my SD card slot on my Dell computer about 1600 photos directly to my catalog to work on. This is a Windows 10 computer with a 500 gb C drive and a 2 T D drive where the photos are stored. The C drive is just for fast startup as it is a SSD. The 2 T drive is mechanical. It took approx. 2 hours to upload those photos. It was painstakenly slow! I had about that same amount that I uploaded about a month ago without issue. The only changes I have made to the computer was the installation of a new monitor. I just tried the card in my laptop to see if it would upload faster or not and it is much faster but I was not uploading to the catalog in Elements on my laptop, just to a file on desktop. Any ideas of what might be going on? 

Just installed Photoshop  Elements 2020. How can I open it without the organizer (or whatever its called)?

I'm switching from being a longtime Photoshop user to Photoshop Elements 2024. I'm used to the tool shortcuts in PS and the tool shortcuts are different in Elements . Can someone please tell me how to change them to match PS tools?  thank you! I'm on Mac (Sonoma ) 14.4.1

i recently had to reinstall photoshop elements 2019 on a new computer. After re-installing elements  i imported all my photos and videos from files that were saved on an external backup drive. {it was not an  elements backup} the result was that i now have as many as 3 to 4 duplicate photos and videos in the new elements app catalog. my question is this, if i first back up my now new elements files with the elements app process to an external drive and then use a third party program to identify all the duplicate files and delete the duplicates from the elements backup, can i then delete all the photos from the still existing elements catalog on my windows 10 computer and import the now cleaned up external file with only single photos and videos from the external backup drive to adobe photoshop elements? and if done this way will i lose any of the of the albums or other edits that i have done previously in elements?  Also when I import the cleaned up elements backup file

Hi! I actually just recently downloaded PSE 2024. The content aware is grayed out. I thought somewhere to make a selection. I was trying to correct an older photo with lines across the face. Also is there a way to fix a blurred photo? Its almost like I'm starting over as I was using PSE 11.

I have all my photos available in my library (thousands) on my iPhone with the beta "Mobile Elements," but they are not organized into their albums.Does anyone know the steps to store and access your PSE Albums with Mobile Elements via an iPhone?  

Kann man bei Photoshop Elements 2024 auf dem Startbildschirm die "letzte Dateien" entfernen ? Im Menü kann man sie nur öffnen.

The Installer pops up an error, saying "Sign in failed. Please retry to load sign-in window again." But I didn't see the sign-in window yet, and didn't enter any passcode either. Can someone tell me what issue it is and how to fix it? Thanks.

I have Photoshop Elements 2023 for Mac, running on a Mac Studio with Mac OS 14.4. When I try to open an HEIC image taken with an iPhone 14 Pro, it sometimes works, and sometimes says "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements cannot recognize the file extension." Both files are .HEIC images, and both are marked by GraphicConverter as "HDR". I finally realized that the ones that won't open are using 10-bit color. (GraphicConverter reports the file format as "HEIC 10-bit", which don't work in Photoshop Elements; and reports the format a "HEIC" for the ones that do). What is going on? My iPhone lets me choose JPG or HEIC, but there is no setting I can see for disabling 10-bit HEIC. And why won't Photoshop read 10-bit HEIC files, if that is one of the common formats produced by iPhones now? I also can't find any mention of this issue on the Internet.
