Photoshop Elements

I am a 59-year-old business owner and I had a Photoshop subscription for over 3 years, I tried to learn how to do image retouching and so on without success. I could only resize my pictures. In the end, I decided to cancel my prescription because I wasn't using the full benefit.I came across an Adobe Element 6 software with the serial number I had for 22.  I wanted to use the resizing option only, nothing else. I have tried to upload it and running but I have a warning message that I need to contact ADOBE. I did so but no one from the technical department wanted to help., or advise me on how to successfully install the software which was provided by ADOBE  and legally bought 22 years ago. This product does not have an expiring date on it, so I do not understand why I can't use it again. I just need your opinon or help if this is okay with this community as ADOBE technical department has a lack of emphaphy Thank for those who will take the time to read this mess

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024, in part for its inclusion of the option to auto select backgrounds and subjects. I tried out the feature recently after photographing several model boats at our local maritime museum, and was disappointed in the results. The Select Background and Select Subject tools would outline the boat model but sometimes did not include the base or stand (or all of it) it rested upon, outline the boat model but not include the rudder and propeller (it followed the hull outline), outlined the leading edge of the sail but missed the mast stay line just ahead of it or jumped between the two halfway down the sail, would get very confused by models with rigging but no sails (select part of a rigging line and then jump to another and reverse direction), etc. My question for the community is, "Is there a way to refine a segment or portion of the selection once the program has performed its automated selection in Photoshop Elements 24?" What am I doing wrong?  I want to modify or replace the color in a selection, so I make the selection, create a new layer, and try to replace the color from the Enhance menu.  I get the message " can't do it because no pixels are selected."  The selection is OK; I can see the marching ants.  The same happens when I try other color adjustments and probably other adjustments as well.  Would appreciate some help.  Many thanks.

The rectangular marquee tool has suddenly switched to being round - how do I get out of this?

I am using PSE 2023 on Windows 11. I recently took some shots with my Nikon D7200 camera and AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm, 1:4.5-5.6 lens in manual exposure mode: ISO 200, shutter 1/1000, aperture f/8.0, focal length 300mm. The Organizer Information reports the correct ISO and shutter speed, but an F-stop of f/4.50, Aperture Value f/4.50, Max. Aperture Value f/1.00, and a Focal Length of 70.00 mm. Any thoughts?

How do you open, view and edit multiple images in PSE 2024 in the same workspace? In PSE 11 we could open multiple PDFs and blank files and view in the same workspace. 

When I use the Change Background feature in Elements 2024...and you find a photo on REPLACE BACKGROUND...from the Adobe Photostock button (suppose to be free in Element 2024) the backgrond pops in..but it won't save for you to use it..and you have to cancel and the backround goes away. I've tried everything.What am I doing wrong? HELP

My friend is making a major change from Photoshop Elements 2006 on a Windows 7 OS laptop to Photoshop Elements 2018 on a Windows 11 OS laptop.  She has about 20,000 photos - 95% of which are tagged and in catalogs.QUESTION:  Is there any way the images with associated tags can be imported and function in the new version of Photoshop elements given the photos were transferred as jpeg images from Windows Explorer.Thank you,MAV

When downloading raw files from camera to photoshop elements, two files of the same image are in Organizer. Why two?

Hello all, I have recently upgraded to Photoshop Elements 2024, and I'm missing a useful option in Camera Raw. In Photoshop Elements 2018 I have an option to "Save new Camera RAW standards". In PS Elements 2024 this option has disappeared. There is only "Use previous settings" (translated from German). However, this is not the same because previous settings could be anything but not the ones I'd want to use on each new picture. And adjusting all the settings from scratch for the majority of pictures will be very cumbersome! Does anybody have a solution to this issue?

I have been using Photoshop Elements 8 for several years on my Windows 10 PC.  Now, all of a sudden, my videos won't play. They are simple videos from my Samsung S23. They played just fine for years, although they were jerky. Now I receive an error message: "Your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (codec) installed." Help!

Hallo, I have a official license for photoshop element and premiere. When I install the mobile app I get the message " your adobe elements mobile app trial has expired"How can I solve this? thanx

Where to look to EASILY determine what OS's Adobe certifies the software will run under? Why does Adobe make this HARD to determine? With each OS upgrade - it is much more of a hassle to find Adobe's crisp advice than I feel it should be..  I'm holding off on the OS upgrade until I can get helpful information.  

I understand this is the forum to post wishes. It was provided to me by Adobe tech support. I strongly suggest that Photoshop Elements include support for network attached storage (NAS) of photos. I recently purchased a NAS. One of my goals was to move the photos from my hard drive of my Windows computer (d: drive) to the NAS (h: drive). This would free up space on the d: drive and would facilitate backup of the photos from the NAS to the cloud or an external hard drive. I read a forum post that suggested that the catalog should not be moved to the NAS, but that photos can be moved to the NAS. So, that was my plan. In PSE organizer I was able to move most of the photos to the NAS, but I regularly got error messages in organizer that prevented moving all photos. The error messages always occurred when the move was 90% complete. I worked with Adobe tech support for a couple weeks to solve this problem. In the end, the bottom line was that they did not know what the problem

I tried to send this message to an actual human in the "Help" section, but that went nowhere, so for my own sanity I'll post it here.... I've been using various version of PS Elements for years, and this particular issue has me questioning whether after all this time I will continue to do so or switch to another product. I'm talking about the absolutely INCESSANT pop-ups promoting newer versions/features that appear every few minutes in the lower left corner and that have to be cleared every single time with apparently no way whatsoever to stop them. It constantly interrupts my workflow and makes me irritated every time it happens, to the point that I am indeed questioning whether to continue using PSE. I am fully aware that a message from a single user such as myself is unlikely to make a change, but I figured you should at least be aware of how truly negatively it makes your product be viewed. If you lose me as a customer, this will be why.

I can't figure out how to take something from one picture and move it to another picture. Is that copy, cut and paste? In elements 10 I just put both pictures on the screen, used teh magent lasso on what I wanted to move, and then moved it. Now I can't even figure out how to get the 2 pictiures on the screen 

At the last update, the rulers in my Elements program now only show even numbers......2,4,6,8, etc.  I'm measuring in inches. How do i get ALL the numbers back, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,etc?  I have restored the program to factory default, nothing.  Old work that i have saved has all the numbers in the rulers, so i know i'm not crazy. HELP!

My mother has a license for Photoshop Elements 2018 and now that she has a new mac with new OS (Sonoma) PS Elements won't run and I can't install it after I have downloaded the file from her Adobe-account. Is there a way to upgrade it?

I'm running PSE 2022 on a PC and and Laptop. When I import images into PSE on the PC the file name is in the following format: 03 03 24_5759.CR3, when I import images onto the laptop the file names are in this format: 1R9A5778.CR3. How can I change the file name format in the Laptop so it appears like the format in the PC

I thought that the elemments 2024 home edition was a one time purchase. It has stopped loadingto my cumputer. Do I need a subscription for this or is there something else going on? This is a windows based versionAny help is appreciated.Thanks,Greg 

I have a very strange problem that has been bothering me for hours:When I create a new text area and type, my cursor stays on the left. If I use characters like ? or ! these links appear instead of where my cursor is. So this is very similar to the Arabic way of writing. I find everywhere online that you can adjust the 'paragraph direction'. However, this appears to only be possible with Photoshop CC/CS? But somehow this is still set up that way on my PS Elements 2023. The strange thing is that when I open an old file I can type the existing texts correctly, but as soon as I create a new text field I can't anymore... Anyone have any idea how to solve this?PS elements 2023, mac.

When Face IDs have been added to a picture and “Save Metadata to Files” is used, I can view the names of the people in the picture in the Mac Finder OK. I can select (but not open) the file and use “Get Info.” This lists the people marked in the picture under Keywords. I can also open the file and click Show the inspector > Keywords inspector. However, if I add a caption in Elements Organizer, this information on the people goes away. Instead, the caption is listed in the Finder with “Get Info” under “Title” and under “Description,” but the people are not listed anywhere. How can I view both the caption and the list of people keywords in the Mac Finder so that people who don’t have the Elements Organizer can view this information?

Hi AdobistsMy laptop recently died suddenly, so I needed to deactivate it a device from my Account. But when I logged in, my photoshop product was shown (hence I knew it was the correct account), but it showed NO devices. But it is installed on my home computer as well as the dead laptop.Help??
