Does Illustrator have architectural rules and the ability to scale measurements? To lay out wood or structural plans, we use an architectural scale (ruler) which breaks down an inch (English Unit) to 12 parts representing 12inches to a foot. On the same ruler, to draw a large object to fit on a paper plan (like a deck), the ruler has the option of breaking down an inch into halves, quarters, eighths, etc., each of which has 12 marks representing inches. It would be impossible to draw a 12-foot deck on a piece of copy paper, but if we use an architectural half-inch equals a foot scale, 12 feet will fit. Okay, you may not get that, but all I want to know is if I can lay out a 12-foot deck in Illustrator, using inch and foot measurements.Below is a sample architect scale.

Using Adobe Illustrator CC (20.1.0 64-bit)I have applied gradient to the text, and it is displaying black. Just to prove that this actually is happening, I made a rectangle and applied the exact same gradient. The gradient is working on the rectangle. Nothing, and I mean nothing I can do will make a gradient work on the text. I can change the text color to red or any solid color and it will work on the text, just not a gradient. Just so you can see that the actual characters themselves have that gradient applied, here is a snapshot of "some" of the characters selected. You will note the black to bright green gradient is indeed applied to the characters themselves.Gradients are not showing up on my text. Gradients are working on shapes.It is really making me think that this is a bug that nobody can solve. I have read the other threads, which are now quite old, and have videos which don't exist. I've never had this happen before but I'm trying to align objects and it keeps defaulting to align to artboard. Even when I draw new objects the align to object selection is greyed out. Tried restarting Illustrator and it is still not working. Grrrrr!

Adobe Illustrator smart guides are not working since the latest update for AUG 2025.Yes I have checked that my preferences have it turned on and yes I have tried re-launching Illustrator.A co-worker of mine has the same problem.

Pessoal, meu illustrator depois que abro o arquivo e começo a usar, após solicitar para salvar. Ele trava e não consigo mais salvar como .ai. Tenho que Exportar e salvar como PDF ou perco o arquivo., Alguém pode me ajudar!!! Heeeelp!!!! 

Illustrator 29.7.1 - Everything is up to date.MacBook Pro Sequoia 15.6 For a few months, my CC Library in Illustrator simply would not load. The entire window was blank, refreshing did not work, restarting the program did not work, restarting my computer did not work. I pretty much just gave up on it for a while.  Now, it's back! But, behaving very odd. I have our brand colors saved in our cc library so I can easily change colors in a document. When I have an element selected, typically, I can go over to my cc library and click the color. I want it to change to easily. But now, either nothing happens at all when I click my desired color, or even worse, changes to a different brand color that I did not select. Everything is now showing, our logos, graphic elements, etc - but I can't click on anything. Even when I try to drag and drop a logo from the cc library to my art board, nothing happens.Other Notes:Does not matter what document I am working on, this is the

Bonjour, voici mon souci depuis deux jours environ. Aussi, il y a Illustrator 2025 et Photoshop 2025 qui font maintenant partie de ma vie depuis quelques semaines. Mon métier, c'est graphiste-lettreur. Le travail que je suis en train de faire pour un client en ce moment est de réaliser des lettres de vinyle adhésif pour placer dans les embossages du panneau arrière de sa camionnette Honda R-I-D-G-E-L-I-N-E. Après avoir calqué chaque embossage sur un papier et fait un scan à 150 dpi ou 300 dpi pour chacune des lettresR-I-D-G-E-L-I-N-E (à leur grandeur réelle), je sauvegarde chaque fichier en .jpg. J'ai imprimé quelques-uns des fichiers .jpg, et ils sont à la bonne grandeur. Le souci :Lorsque j'importe les fichiers dans Illustrator 2025, les lettres scannées sont toujours presque le double de la grandeur réelle nécessaire pour faire un retracé exacte avec la plume. Pago mi suscripción puntualmente todos los meses, tengo internet estable y siempre guardo mis proyectos en local para no depender de la nube. A pesar de esto, sigo sufriendo bloqueos parciales en las aplicaciones: funciones que se limitan, proyectos que no se abren o se restringen como si mi licencia no estuviera activa.Ya confirmé en mi cuenta que la suscripción está vigente y el pago está al día. No se trata de falta de internet ni de facturación, y me ocurre incluso trabajando en proyectos guardados en mi PC.Esto me hace perder muchísimo tiempo y productividad, y necesito una solución definitiva.👉 ¿Alguien más pasó por lo mismo?👉 ¿Existe un procedimiento oficial para evitar que el sistema de Adobe bloquee a usuarios con licencia activa?Agradezco cualquier ayuda de la comunidad o del soporte oficial de Adobe.Gracias.

Hi, In illustrator, the default pattern used to export the artboards is {FileName}_{ArtBoardName}.{Ext}. However, I want the file names to be different than that (e.g., instead of _, maybe i want to use - or seomthing). I can rename the files afterwards, but it's tidious and error prone. I looked through settings but didn't see any settings that controls the pattern used for generating the name. It should be a pretty basic but useful functionality so I am surprised that it's not built-in, so I am wondering if I am not looking the at the right place. Does similar functionality exists, and if so, is there any description how to use it? I looed through settings and online manual but didn't see anything. Hoping someone has secret tricks. Thanks,

I've created an ASE file with all of our corporate brand compliant colors. But when I save the ASE, Adobe changes the color mixes on its own. When I reopen the ASE in Illustrator, the colors have changed. For example, if I save a color swatch as CMYK 85, 46, 0, 0 Adobe changes it to CMYK 84.64, 45.8, 0. 0. I'm trying to make this ASE downloadable for all of our designers, but if it isn't accurate this is useless.

Worked a lot with Figma for the creation of our website. I work a lot with auto layout, it gives you the option to align everything as easy as it can do. I would LOVE to have this in illustrator. but only if it works just as good 😉 

Hi, I've been an Illustrator user for the better part of 10 years now and just run into this debilitating issue. It's a prime part of my workflow to quickly hit ESC after typing to exit the text box, but all of a sudden I can't???? I've tried editing the Keyboard increment option in my preferences (which some threads have found success with), but it's not changing. Is there any news on this? An update I've missed? Or is my Illustrator just busted? Thanks in advance!

How can I restore my custom Toolbar? There was a Toolbar folder in the AppData directory, and I was restoring my custom toolbar by copying and pasting it into that folder. But it doesn't work anymore. By copying and pasting, my custom Toolbar (with its name) was appeared in this Window.

Hola, desde hace tiempo se me presenta este problema cuando intento guardar archivos grandes. Los archivos son nuevos, es decir, no son archivos que alguien mas me compartiera y puedan estar corruptos o dañados. Mi computadora es considerablemente potente, 32GB en RAM, tarjeta grafica NVIDIA de 6GB y Procesador Core i5 12450HX. No entiendo porque pasa esto, solo sucede con archivos grandes. Espero que me puedan ayudar. Adjunto, dejo el mensaje que me muestra Illustrator.

Until now, when I selected several elements with different positions on the Z-axis, the Z-axis position of the copied elements would correspond to that of the original elements. Example: If I alt-dragged one element that was in front and one that was behind a third element, the copied elements would also be infront and behind. Now, as soon as I alt-drag several elements, they all end up in front of the uppermost of the original elements. Is this a bug or has this been an intentional change to something I find much worse? It is really annoying that I now loose all depth information as soon as I alt-drag more than one element, and it really messes up my workflow. Is there a way to change this back?

Another oddity since the update 29.7.1 - Mac OS Ventura 13.7.7When rotating simple vectors, these ghost elements start randomly appearing. See in this example, the light teal bar was rotating but left odd shards in its path. They vanish after deselecting.
