I was exploring the Flare Tool in Illustrator and noticed the 'Longest Ring' and 'Longest Ray' options in the dialog box. After experimenting several times, I realized that these settings aren’t 100% precise. Instead, they seem to act as parameters that Illustrator uses in a built-in random generation algorithm to create more natural and organic-looking rays and rings. If the tool used exact values, the flare would likely look too artificial. Did I understand this correctly?

I am having trouble turning my jpeg and png into linework (vector art) in Illustrator. When I hit image trace, I get this. Tried both files (jpeg and png)  Then I went into Photoshop and removed the background. Imported it in illustrator and got this result. A little bit better but the type is a little wonky and needs alot of work.       

Illustrator has been playing up and recently it has been failing to load shapes and images from template files i have been using for over a year. It is also adding background to shapes when im moving the shape but then dissapears when it stops moving. It's also messing up when adjusting the transparency of a shape or object. This has only happened in the last few days. I have tried uninstalling illustrator and then re-installing it as well as resetting my preferences but no changes. Any idea what might be going on. When I first start Illustrator and open a file with a single artboard to export to jpeg or png, the "Suffix" checkbox is unchecked in the explorer window for selecting where to save the file, but Illustrator adds the suffix to the file name anyway. The problem disappears if I check the box and then uncheck it immediately. After restarting Illustrator, the bug returns.Another problem with the checkbox in explorer is also observed when saving eps files with multiple artboards, if I uncheck the "Use Artboards" checkbox so that it saves one file, Illustrator still saves one common file + all artboards separately.I've written before about problems with these checkboxes in early versions of illustrator 2020, they were fixed, why are these bugs coming back in newer versions?Thanks

I'm trying to drag colors from an image to use while I'm drawing and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm not really sure what triggers it, but I'll be copying colors with the eyedropper fine and then all of a sudden I go to get another color and it won't work and I have no idea how to figure out how to get it to work again. it grabs a blank color and turns whatever shape I have selected blank.

Does anyone have a detailed tutorial on creating plugins specifically for Illustrator?---------I'm having problems creating a plugin for IllustratorNo matter how I make it, it won't show up in IllustratorI tried the following, but to no avail:- The script type works, but it is not suitable for my job- I tried several kinds of CEP/ExtendScript, but it doesn't work and doesn't appear in Illustrator- I used C++/SDKs  and created an .aip file, but it still doesn't appear in Illustrator- The UXP type doesn't support Illustrator at the moment, although I tried to find a way to do thatI feel really confused, because I tried it on three different computers, but none of them worked---------So if any of you know of new courses, I'd really appreciate it

This is a combination of single pattern. Is it possible to make it one single layer? not image. That means I should be able reverse it to original state of single pattern. File is uploaded as well. This is what I want. You can see here pattern layer without dropdown arrow mark, which is converted into a with dropdown arrow mark. Hi community. I am trying to make somethign wild, trying to somehow "recolor artwork" via code, the main idea si to have a design with non-pantone colors and then the script with just assig the closest match possible to the fill color. I transferred all my fonts in Fontbook from my mac to my pc, Windows 11. The transfer was successful because I can see them in Photoshop, but I can't see them in Illustrator. I've searched for answers, but I haven't found any answer this specific. How do I get them to show up in illustrator?

Since yesterday a regular feature is now gone. I have a clip group on a layer. I want to edit some of the objects inside the clip group. I used to be able to double click the clipping group and go inside isolation mode. Isolation mode is now gone. When I double click the clip group, nothing happens.

Hi Adobe Community,I’m comfortable using Photoshop and can draw anything there, but I’m struggling in Illustrator. I tried vectorizing a raster image, but the result got disrupted and didn’t preserve the details well. What’s the best approach or workflow in Illustrator to convert raster images to clean, accurate vector graphics? Are there any tips, tools, or settings that can help preserve the quality during conversion?

Hi everybody !I am kind of  new to illustrator, and have been trying to find a way to align the stem part of this (N) serif letter with the rest of the paragraph instead of the serif bottom and top part, but I have no clue how to do it. What would be the best way way to do that ?Thank you !

I'm new to Illustrator and am having issues scrolling on side panels. As you can see in the attached photo, part of the panel hides under my desktop bar and I can't scroll up or down to reveal the whole panel. This happens with generative recolor as well. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks!

I'm working on an event map and trying to update names that are listed on the map next to their location, but I don't know how to remove the existing words to replace them with new ones. Is this possible to do on this on Illustrator?

Dear all,now that Adobe CC documents no longer appear in the macOS Finder—nor there seems to be a way to make them appear there in any way—I find that it is no longer possible to Load Styles (in this case Paragraph Styles) between cloud documents (or from a cloud document to a local one). Since I assume this is an intentional change, what should one do now? Thanks! PS: I tried to create a CC library and to drag and drop a paragraph style to the new library. No effect. Pressing the + button only gives me "Fill color" as an option. Something seems wrong here.

Bonjour,Je rencontre un sérieux problème depuis une journée alors que je travaillais à modifier mes formes vectoriels crée sur Illustrator, je me suis rendu compte qu'il est devenue impossible d'afficher les points d'ancgrage quand je clique sur une forme avec l'outil "Selection direct" et à cose de cela je ne peux plus manier mes lignes directrices et cela m'empêche d'avancer sur mon travail !Je pense avoir fait une fausse manipulation avec la paume de ma main gauche, mais je ne sais pas comment retourner à la forme initiale de cet incident.

So I am helping someone with her design work which she did in RGB on Canva initially. Now we need to participate in the conference and we need to submit final files for Stand wall Panels in Illustrator to be printed which will be in CMYK format and 1 Panel will have to be in RGB format to be displayed on the stand desk. I tried to find the same vivid purple 7e57ff which we have on our Logo, Text in Canva but when I put it on Illustrator its very dimmed and very different version of purple. What can I do to get very vivid /bright purple in Illustrator as in Canva? See the photos of what we get in the attached.  Thanks! 

Is there a way to dynamically retrieve all the possible variants of a globally defined object, such as Justification, from a script?   In other words, I want to enumerate all the values under Justification—such as Justification.LEFT, Justification.CENTER, Justification.RIGHT, etc.—into an array dynamically, instead of hardcoding all the variations myself.   I tried code like the example below, but it seems that each value does not actually exist in Illustrator until it is explicitly referenced in the source code. var justificationArray = [] ; for(var propName in Justification) { justificationArray.push(propName) ; } alert(justificationArray) ;   Use case: Addressing an issue where specified text attributes are ignored when their values match the default values of the character/paragraph styles applied to that text. Dear Community, I would like to know how to screen record only the artboard, in Illustrator. My goal is to make a timelapse video of what happens on the artboard when I make elements visible one by one (I would start by having all the elements hidden).P.S. I added my collection of vectors and one of the issues that came back is: "Your vector file contains a raster/bitmap image, and vector files must not contain raster elements." This is simply not accurate. My files do not contain any raster elements. I know this for certain, and there is no way that all files have that. Do I need to save them as SVG not eps? How do I deal with this problem? I will give one file as an example below. I have included the SVG and the EPS. 

I am using an oval shape and tryint to use the pencil too to change the shape - With the same shape selected - one time it fills the pencil part but does not change the shape - then a few strokes later it adds the pencil line only - at one point it deleted points that outlined the shape.Example 3 shows what happened when added the pencil stroke from the stroke of the shape - it cut it into 2 parts.    All of this started with latest update.   I made all suggested changes to the preferences and it didn't fix the problem.  I als drew from the path which also didn't work.

Im over it. 2x this week since last update. Any recommendations on another application I can use?

Hi everyone,I’m experiencing a serious issue in Illustrator.When I create a new document, everything works fine: objects display at the correct size on the artboard, and their dimensions in the Properties/Transform panel are accurate.But after I save the file, close Illustrator, and reopen the same document, the objects still look visually correct on the artboard. However, in the Properties/Transform panel their dimensions suddenly become extremely large.The problem is that once this happens, all Illustrator tools (transform, align, distribute, scaling, etc.) start following these incorrect giant dimensions, which makes it impossible to keep working normally in the same file. It also affects zoom and scroll performance, which become very slow or freeze.So visually the artwork looks right, but Illustrator is treating it as if it were scaled to enormous values.Has anyone else faced this? Could it be a units/scale mismatch or a known bug in how Illustrator handles saved files? Any workaro
