Many maps I download from ArcGIS have all text labels as individual letters of text instances grouped together to make a word. If i change the font size or scale it can ruin the formatting. I am aware you can copy the text group, click the type tool, make a new text object and paste the text and it will all flow properly together. I also have several scripts downloaded from the web that are supposed to combine the text into one object, but none are working. Is there an easy /automatic fix for this, that will fix every group of text on my map (many hundreds of text labels) into easily editable united text instances?edit: i addded "text paths.eps". When i tried to add an AI file it gave the error: "The attachment's text paths.ai content type (application/postscript) does not match its file extension and has been removed."  Hopefully eps works

I'm trying to record an action for work, but I'm running into a problem. In this action, I need to use the "Transform Each" feature, but when I playback my action, the Transform Each dialog box stays open and the action stops. When recording the action, the dialog box closes when I press "ok" or press "enter". Is there a way for me to have this recorded in the action? Is there a work around for this?  Thanks!

Whenever I export a selection in Illustrator as an SVG, it crashes every time. I can export for screens just fine. It's not until I make a selection that it crashes. Just curious if anyone else has this issue.I've tried updating it and uninstalling/reinstalling it, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

Can Alt Text somehow be embedded in an image and picked up by the app or software it is used in without having to manually enter the Alt Text in each application? Case in point for this approach: Embed in a brand logo or product imagery so it is consistently described and always Accessibile for Screen Readers. MS Office would be the primary destinations for the SVGs and PNGs.Thank you!

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to create multiple blank Illustrator files from a CSV, using the following parameters: File name CMYK color mode Width in cm Height in cm So the idea would be to provide a list of 500 items, and have the program automatically generate the files with the dimensions specified in the CSV. I’d like some guidance, tutorials, or anything that can help me get started with Illustrator plugin development. Right now, I’m facing a lot of issues after looking at the sample code in the 2025 SDK, I feel overwhelmed because there are so many files. The plugin I’m trying to build is full of errors, and I’m not sure if it’s because I linked the paths incorrectly or forgot to include something. It’s all very confusing to me.

How do I hide the display of Noto fonts in the font list? There are soooo many Noto fonts that show up in Illustrator when previewing fonts in font list. I realize these fonts are needed for system reasons, and that's fine. I just don't need to see them everytime I scroll through my fonts in Illustrator. Please let me know how I can hide these from view in the Illustrator font menu. Thanks.

I am trying to create a gradient mesh from shapes I made with the pen tool. I know that there must be a way to do this but I can't figure it out.

When using the Eyedropper tool (I), Illustrator samples black instead of the visible color from an object (like a rectangle in your custom palette). The correct color only appears if you go through the Color Guide.Possible solution:A PNG image with transparency, even if it's locked in the Layers panel, can interfere with the Eyedropper tool. Illustrator ends up sampling a transparent pixel from the PNG rather than the color from the object underneath.Open the Layers panelTemporarily turn off the visibility of the PNG image (click the eye icon next to the layer)Try the Eyedropper again — it should now correctly pick up the underlying color💡 Even if the PNG is locked, Illustrator still “sees” it when using the Eyedropper. Visibility overrides locking in this context.Hope it's helpful!

I really don't need generative expand everywhere. Give us the option to disable these popups.This is bad & cluttered UI design, and at this rate every windows is gonna have these.   On top of that, the info button doesn't even do anything...  

Hello.Have been trying to create hyperlinks in Illustrator CC following the usual procedures of typing the full URL, using Slices etc. Whatever I do, it just isn't outputting clickable links in the generated PDF. Does anyone know of other methods or if there is something I am missing in the way I'm saving or something?Many thanks.

Hi,So this is one of those problems which im sure has an easy answer. I make sculptures and I want to do a design at full scale to use the new 'dimensions' feature. I want to then scale the whole design down to A4 but keep the 'dimensions' the same ie if a side is 2000mm I want the a4 scale to show 2000mm. I guess I can save the design as a png then paste it onto a new artboard? Is it possible to set dimsnions to a ratio eg  1: 10 then I can draw on an A4 sized artboard to scale? thanks, Jake

Hi everyone! I've been checking the folders within my Mac's operating system (macOS Sequoia 15.5) and I've noticed two folders that refer to the preferences for Adobe programs, in my case ILLUSTRATOR. Both are located within the LIBRARY folder in the USERS folder and are different since within the LIBRARY folder we find the PREFERENCES folder and within this there is a folder called ADOBE and another named ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. I think the latter is where the ILLUSTRATOR preferences are stored, but within the other one, called ADOBE, I find several folders, one for each ADOBE program I have installed and consequently there is also one named ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. Well, within this one there are a bunch of folders named with different previous versions of ILLUSTRATOR, as you can see in the attached screenshot. Do I need all of these folders, or can they be deleted (I assume all except the one for the version I have installed...)? As always, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and prov

After exporting a design from illustrator to pdf, some of the text and images look blurry when opened. Even with high quality print settings. What'd be causing this? How to keep it sharp?

Hi,I'm troubled typing Bangla/Bijoy in my adobe illustrator cc-17 and cc20. I can type in other software eg. ms word, photoshop cs6.I changed the preference>type>indiac option but still now facing this type of worst situation. 

So how do I set a  scale for a flat, 2-D drawing in Illustrator? I know how to specify a page or panel/file size, and I can pick a type siz that's approprite, but how do I set a scale for the drawing itself?

Hello,I created a PDF file in Illustrator using multiple artboards—something I do regularly. However, with this particular file, I'm encountering an issue. When I open the PDF, I can see all the elements correctly. But when I open it in Illustrator, only the contents of the first three artboards are visible.I didn’t have any issues saving the file, and I’ve worked with larger files before without problems. This is the first time I’ve encountered something like this.I really need to modify the file, but this issue with Illustrator is preventing me from doing so. See video attached. My cursor wants to flicker any time I'm attempting to use scale and/or rotate. Using a $5,000 Mac so I don't think its CPU or hardware, definitely a software glitch. Any ideas?  Thanks. T
