Hey, so I've got a few pdfs with no bitmaps at all, just vectors, 12 in number. I need to apply a series of changes to them and then save them back in a Illustrator Default pdf format. I started doing them 1 by 1 in and saving them back, all ok no problem saving was almost instantly. Then I thought I should make an .ai with all of them on each artboard, do the changes 1 time and will affect all, then use the Export for Screen/PDF (set to Illustrator Default) feature and export them. The problem is Illustrator then freezes and the export take a long long time, talking about 1 appearing in the folder after around 3-5 minutes, while if I were to export them manualy this would been almost instant. I also noticed the size is different (from 2.5mb to 13mb) even tho I used the same pdf presset (Illustrator Default). Can anyone explain to me why is this happening ? Thanks !

I have in issue consigned to the v27 of the Mac version of Illustrator where the colors are all dull for both RGB and CMYK color spaces when compared with: The exact same version of Illustrator on another laptop replicating the same CMYK swatch with the exact same color settings (same proofing settings, same FOGRA39 profiles)On the same laptop with side by side windows running Photoshop / Affinity replicating the same CMYK swatch in the same color mode (which shows correctly in Photoshop / Affinity)An exported PDF from the plagued Illustrator version with CMYK color profile  (which shows correctly in Preview and Acrobat)Even the Recently Opened previews in the home screen of Illustrator show correctly, but revert to dull versions when opened See swtaches and differences below, with the 'correct' version shown in Illustrator. I should emphasise these are colours I have been working with for years and have always looked correct in my previous laptop running Illustrato

I can’t save my file as an SVG or export artbords to SVG.When I try to save the file as an SVG I get: An unknown error occured.When I try to export I get: Unable to export as SVG.I am running Illustrator 29.5.1 on Mac 15.5I tried saving in different locations on my system. I also tried it with a minimum file meaning a new file with only a simple one color rectangle.

Is there a way to change the keyboard increment preference in Illustrator with Extendscript?

I built a print ad in Illustrator and "Saved As" a pdf file with embedded images and outlined fonts.When it printed in the magazine, the curves of the letters were jacked up and small sections of the illustrator guides showed up!They sent the file back to me (same file name as what I sent them) and when I opened it in Acrobat, all the issues were present. I opened that file in Illustrator and all the outlined text was converted back to fonts.Any ideas as to why my provided PDF file with outlined text couldn't just be opened and printed without this jacked up mess? IMAGE 1: Top shows my outlined PDF file in Illustrator with content selected. I got a new printer yesterday (HP OfficeJet Pro 6968) and when I print, the colors are very different than they are on the screen.Some colors are muddy, some colors are just a bad match.Never had this issue with my previous printer (HP Envy 5530).  Have not changed any settings.I spent 3 hours on the phone with HP yesterday with no resolution.  Wondering what my print settings should be to get the best match?  Or if there is some other issue?I print a lot for clients so I really need to resolve this.Thanks!

Illustrator 29.6 added a new option in the Smart Guides section of the application preferences. It's called "Align to Last Position".   I tried to find out what that option is supposed to do, but so far I couldn't spot it. Also, currently it's not mentioned in the Illustrator User Guide.   What is the purpose of it?

The workflow with the pencil tool and brush tool with access to path smoothing is already so fantastic, I'm almost ashamed to mention a slight improvement.  LOL  When you hold the Alt key the little smoothing toolbox pops up and that is fantastic, but it would be slightly improved if it were possible to make it pop up close to the cursor.  Currently, it pops up somewhere and I find myself searching for it.   So, this would be a nice little improvement to an already unbelievably good workflow. And the smoothing itself is just fantastic.  I can't praise it enough.  Adobe really knocked this one out the park.

I need to use a single CSV file to populate text fields across all these artboards with different language translations. I'm using the Variables panel and the VariableImporter.jsx script to manage this.The Problems: I've run into a series of errors that seem to be connected, and I can't get past them. Here they are in the order I usually encounter them:1. The "Multiple Object Attributes" Error: After I import my CSV with the script, I immediately get a warning dialog with a yellow triangle. I used to double-click over any layer to activate the layer option dialogue box. recently after updating to Illustrator 2021 the layers option is gone especially with files I have made with earlier Illustrator Version and on children layers only.all layers I have made in an earlier version of Illustrator have colors that I couldn't change in the newer version of Illustrator.This is what I got when double-click over any layer to change its color for example.       

When we create additional artboards those are not in the layer panel. Where do they go?   

Hi, I wanted to edit some letters using the Pencil Tool, but whenever I click with the left mouse button and start drawing, I can’t see any line following the Pencil Tool. It's really inconvenient to have to open Illustrator every time just to check the contents of a file.For example, Blender recently added thumbnail previews. Even free software is doing it.

i used to be able to export ai files into standard dxf files but now the export reads autodesk realdwg (*dxf) which does not convert pattern in correct size. when i bring the new dxf file into a PDS system the scale is too small . when before i was ble to do it in 2024 illstrator

I'm trying to use the Generate Vectors (Beta) In Adobe Illustrator 2025.  I can load it and type in whatever I want, when I click generate it brings up a loading bar and tip as if it's generating soemrhing but then my box remains blank.  I've previously used it with no issue so seems to be since having the 2025 update.  I'm having this issue with Gen Shape Fill (Beta) too.  Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix which can be suggested please?  Thanks

In all previous versions of Illustrator, I was abel to have 3 panels stacked on top of eachother, docked on the side. Each panel having 3-5 tool tabs. The same is true of 2023. However, previously I was able to set the height of eight panel and it wouldn't change based on the tabs height. So, for instance, Id havelayers, Pathfinder, and artboards on topProperties, Alignment and Stroke in the center panelAnd then, (lets say) Swatches, Symbols, and Assets in Bottom Panel.Ive always been able to adjust the height of each (for instance) panel so they took up a 3rd of the space and they'd be fixed regardless of other tools size. If there was empty sapace, theres emply space. If there was more info beyond panel, it'd provide a scroll bar within the panel. But, now when I select a tab, everything resize based on that tab. In most cases It collapses the other panels all together, like if you have the "Properties" tab selected in center Panel, The top panel and bottom collapse to accomidate. I

I have been using the program for many years now, and among the many new features I miss a radial menu that can speed up my work.I use 2 third-party radial menus but in my opinion one implemented in the program would be perfect.

 Hi! I am trying to export my project, in which I used 70% opacity for some images to make them lighter, but when I look at the final exported files, these images become much lighter. What settings should I change to make my export look the same as in illustrator?

Hi,I need support and advice on what to do. I have prepared a project in Illustrator containing graphic elements and blocks of text. My problem is that after saving and closing the project currently when I open it again the texts are no longer visible as if they are white.I can select the texts with the cursor but I cannot change any of the text features. However, in the file preview the texts on the project are normally visible. Please help, what should I do? 

Here you can see there is a positive sign next to hand sign. I assume this is used to copy properties of the lyers. How to get this?
