I'm having an issue that only seems to have begun recently. Previously, when I scaled a line path, the bounding box for the path would be set according to the anchor points on the line - in other words, if I have a diagonal straight line with two anchor points, the bounding box would have the two anchor points as the two opposite corners in a rectangle. Now, however, it seems that the bounding box is set to conform to the overall shape of the path. In other words, if you change the stroke thickness of the path, the bounding box also changes size. You can see this in the picture I've attached - the blue shows the current bounding box, and red shows what the bounding box should've been set to and what it would have been in the previous settings. The new setting is not great for my uses as I have a lot of line drawings where lines are meant to connect at the anchor points, not at the visual boundaries of the path itself. I have recently updated Illustrator to 2025 as have all of the designers at my work.We use a Graphtec Plotter and the Cutting Master plugin will not install into the updated AI 2025.Has anyone figured how to do this, it has been fine with AI 2024. Do I have to un-install 2024 before continuing?

In Illustrator have 13 artboards that at 100% zoom level appear to be my desired size (9.4 by 4.7 inches). When I hold my ruler up to my monitor (WQHD), it's the exact size I want. I want to export for screens, but I cannot get any exported version to appear on my screen again in any other place (Photoshop, Portfolio, default Windows photos app) as 9.4x4.7 inches. They all report the same pixel dimension (677x339) and roughly the same smaller appearance. Even when I export a simple rectangle at my desired size, it still appears smaller everytime. I initially had my document set up in inches, and then switched it to pixels after my artwork and artboards were on some janky half-pixel sizes. When I export, I use the export-for-screen option. I'm aware that typical screen resolution is 72ppi. When I switched my doc setup from inches to pixels, I made sure that I was using whole pixel values, and that my document was indeed 677x339 pixels. I multiplied my desired file size in inches by

Hi,I’m encountering a persistent issue with Adobe Illustrator on my MacBook running macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 and Illustrator version 29.2.1.When I launch Illustrator, I receive an error message stating that I’ve reached the activation limit for devices. However, when I check the list of activated devices in my Adobe account, I only see my MacBook listed, but it appears duplicated 11 times.Here’s what I’ve tried so far:Confirmed that I have only one device activated.Restarted my MacBook.Updated Illustrator to the latest version.Signed out and signed back into Adobe Creative Cloud.Despite these steps, the problem persists. Hi,I have downloaded a corrupted .ai file from Adobe Stock "AdobeStock_136174951". It´s a name card. Illustrator gives me the attached error message "Illustrator could partially open this file" and then it opens an empty artboard.How do I go about getting my credit back?Why do you not have a way of reporting this? There are only two options to report a file on Adobe Stock:"You may report the following issues:Content contains the names of people (including artists' names)Content may infringe on IP rights (such as copyright, design, or trademark rights, model or property rights)" How useless is this?Kind RegardsMarton   

Bonjour à tous, J'ai un problème d'affichage sur Illustrator 2021 : Quand je déplace un objet (une forme) le contour de selection disparait pendant le déplacement. Il s'affiche de nouveau une fois le déplacement effectué. Ce qui est problematique lors de certaines actions comme le calage d'un objet par desssus un autre par exemple.la seule solution pour garder l'affichage du contour pendant le déplacement est de basculer en Command/Ybref pas très ergonomique..J'ai peut- être fait une mauvaise manip lors d'un raccourci clavier, et je n'ai pas trouvé l'option qui permette de rétablir cette fonction.. Si vous avez la réponse, merci d'avance. 

I can't find a way to select same fill or same stroke, on Illustrator for iPad. Please advise.

I am having a very strange experience in creating artwork in Adobe Illustrator. I have some older files, specifically for one client, and noticed the colors were duller than when created. I wrote it off as me creating the files incorrectly many years ago. However, I recently updated to Creative Cloud and designed a new project from scratch for a new client with new colors. When I went back to that file today to expand on the project I noticed the colors were duller than previously. I compared some of the color values to the original artwork and noticed that they had been changed slightly (ie: RGB 67 > 67, 187 > 168, 219 > 200; 241>222, 172>153, 27>27; etc).The files are, and always have been, RGB. It would appear as if my colors are being changed from the time I save and close, to the time I re-open. Any ideas?

I'm trying to get the template for Visual Studio to work from the Illustrator 2025 SDK. I've followed the directions in the getting started and the Readme.txt placed all the files from the Template folder in samplecode as they have shown in the Visual Studio directory and I can see the SDK Project in the wizard but when I create it I get  "project creation failed" am I missing something does anyone have this working? I'm using Visual Studio 2022 Community.

So it looks like Illustrator 2025 has changed the zoom keyboard shortcut from Command/Space Bar to simply the Z key. Why do they do this?

My illustrator finds any word abusive when I am trying to generate an image with AI.Why?  

I created a clipping mask and now I have a big transparent bounding box around the image. How do I crop out all the extra empty space to just leave the image as my object?

In the new version Illustrator (29.1) always crashes when I try to save several artboards as eps. Now I can only save one or two pages at a time without crashing. This is really tedious with many pages. I hope that the problem will be fixed quickly!

I just can't get it to work.I would like to have the background under my dieline in the outline shapes.Dieline has no padding (this is not possible) so it only has an outline.The following steps don't work:1. Group [Command + G2. Composite path3. Create cutout path 

Hi, idk why but ever since the 2025 update of illustrator whenever i click to fast or in certain spots of the program it will click through the app and select another app behind it. If i remove all apps on that screen it will start glitching and flickering instead. Ive tried installing new graphics drivers, unchecking and cheking gpu performance in the settings and reinstalling twice. 

Hola,Cuando actulizo Illustrator (y supongo que pasará con más aplicaciones) los ajustes de Calco de Imagen que creee pata mi trabajo desaparecen.Es un engorro porque soy ilustrador profesional y vectorizo mucho dibujos hechos en mapa de bits para una marca en concreto que demanda cierta homogeneidad en el trazo, lo colores y el dibujo. Además utilizao diferentes ajustes creados por mí para diferentes clientes. El problema viene cuando actualizo a una versioón más reciente y esta elimina los presets que había creado para este calco de imagen y tengo que volverlos a hacer. ¿hay alguna manera de poder incluir estos presets en la versión nueva del software que actualizo? Muchas gracias! ÀlexMac mini i7 intel core 16GB RAM

Hi. I hope someone can help me. I was working on a logo and when I tried to type something all my fonts were gone except for Myriad Pro. I tried the Character Window and the Type Tab. Nothing. I'm working in a relatively simple Ai file, and it lags unbelievably bad when I'm simply trying to move a simple text layer aroundThere's no special effects applied to the text, it's simply grouped together and isolated so that I'm adjusting only the individual text layers on a map. That Ai file is a measly 2.1 mb, so what's the deal?It's all vector format, not using pixel view, CMYK document, no affect on whether smart guides are on or off. Hi, I know this has been a recurring issue through the years, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I've just put up with it forever, but I'm to the point where I simply can't use the brush and pencil tools to draw in illustrator due to the constant flickering of the cursor.  I'm using the most recent version of Illustrator CC on a Macbook Pro 2022. This happens on when using the mouse as well as using my Cintiq Touch HD 24. Any help would be amazing. I've suffered for too long 😞 C

Hi community. I have a made a custom path, added some text on it. Im trying to mirror the path and the text. so reposition it depending on the distance Ill need.  The problem Im facing is, the text is opposite to the correct left to right, as the words would show. When I mirror, reflect the path with the text. Id like the text to be correctly orientated if possible,    Thank you.  

Hola! Estoy queriendo descubrir por qué cuando arrastro con la herramienta mano mi lienzo, todo se "sacude", o "rebota" mientras me voy desplazando y cuando me detengo queda en su lugar. No sé si es una cuestión de la placa de video, del monitor o qué. Nunca me había pasado, pero resientemente descargué el programa en mi PC (suelo usarlo en mi trabajo) y acá hace este extraño efecto. Ojalá alguien sepa de qué estoy hablando y sepa cual es el motivo, o mejor, cómo solucionarlo. Muchas gracias!

Hey there,I was just wondering if there is a setting that keeps the artboard names visible? Seems rather silly/redundant but I can't figure it out.(I realize they are there in document setup + artboard panel, I am asking if the name can 'stick' to the board in all views) Thanks for your help! 🙂 Ayla

I'm running Illustrator 2023 on a windows machine and I can't get Illustrator to stop doing it's auto-indenting whenever I start a sentence with a number and push space. I had this problem in 2022 as well and I went into the preferences and turned off 'Automatic bulleted and numbered lists while typing', that worked in 2022. But in 2023 it's holding me hostage to it and I literally can't type a number without it autospacing. If I click the numbered list icon after and click the no slash then it removes the number at the begining and only leaves the letters. It's like some kind of cruel joke.
