Ciao a tutta la community, ho ripreso ad usare Illustrator da poco e non capisco se è un problema mio o qualcosa di nuovo introdotto con qualche aggiornamento. Voglio disegnare un cerchio perfetto con lo strumento Ellisse, ma non vedo più le linee orizzontale e verticale all'interno del cerchio mentre trascino il mouse per creare la forma. Vedi linee gialle nell''immagine. è qualcosa che posso ripristinare o non ci sono mai state e mi ricordo male?  

I am endlessly confused as to why Photoshop has a live editing "pattern preview" option, but Illustrator does not. Many surface designers work primarily with Illustrator and it is really irritating that that tech to live edit a pattern exists in Photoshop but not Illustrator. Is there a plan to add this feature to Illustrator anytime soon? It is such a useful tool that saves me significant time when creating repeating patterns and I would love to see it implemented in Illustrator! 

Can we add a feature to the Symbol Sprayer tool where it randomizes the symbols being sprayed? Let's say I shift select a handful of symbols I'd like to use and the symbol sprayer will just randomly spray all selected symbols instead of just one by one.

Initally the file I was working on started acting funky and partially frozen. I rebooted, and only got a blank gray launch page. I have tried: closing and re-launching rebooting computer ad nauseum updating the app deleting and reinstalling (including all adobe apps) CC cleaner tool (oy!) And a few other tips I came across regarding renaming some files(?). Nothing is working. The only change is that I now have a black opening screen. I am running a Macbook Pro 2014 (old, yes, but runs fine enough) with Big Sur (not new update). I hadn't changed anything when this started. Can someone please help me? Keeping in mind that I am not tech savvy and my son is no longer here to help me, lol! I am now at a complete loss and trying not to hyperventilate... Thanks!

Hi allI am very new to Adobe illustrator and working my way through tutorials and Youtube videos.  I found one which I would like to practice using the polar grid.  I found it in advanced setting, however when I select it there is no response, it seems to be stuck on line draw only despite clicking escape and selecting again.  I get the same response with the spiral tool, none  I have searched the web and FAQ and cannot find a solution.  Is it a setting option?   TIA Marjolyn

After autotrace, white areas appear around my drawing where the color is more or less transparent. Does anyone know if I can trim/delete them? 

I am creating an illustration using the Mesh Tool. When I select the color I want for 1 or more points the color turns to gray. Can someone advise why this is and how to correct it? Thanks for your time.

Hi all, I've been working on an Illustrator file, which is a map of Europe. Countries are grouped layers, and these countries have a subset of items (sometimes also grouped). The thing is that most subset items can appear in multiple countries, and must have the same name. See below for example.  All of a sudden, Illustrator not only shows 'x5F' in between items layers, but also adds '_#' after each item layer. However, I need all the layers in their original names. This was working great before, but suddenly changed. Basically, same name layers are suddenly no longer supported and I need it. Otherwhise I have to spend way to much time on changing this manually every time I create the SVG, and developers need this for a web application.  Example of current problem:Spain- Itemgroup   - I_x5F_G1- Item - Item Portugal- Itemgroup_2  -  I_x5F_G1_2- Item_2- Item_2 Example of previous situation and preferred situation:Spain- Itemgrou

Hello all, I am sharing this potential fix in hopes that it will help those who are experiencing the same issue I was going through. This might be a very specific issue relating to my PC, but if you've tried every possible suggestion recommended here and everywhere else, give this a try.  Let me start with a brief description of my PC. I have a custom desktop with a Threadripper 3970X, 256GB of RAM, and dual 3090 Ti with NVLink enabled and several nvme drives running Windows 11 with latest updates. In brief, my PC never had any issues with any of the Adobe suite programs. My problem started when a troubled, unrelated software kept causing my PC to crash. After resolving that very issue, I proceeded to continue with my work in Illustrator. I quickly realized that something was wrong when zooming in and out was extremely sluggish. Checking my Performance settings in Preferences, I found out that my GPUs were not detected and it states "Compatible GPU not displayed".&n

How do I access Adobe color themes from Illustator?

I'm having trouble saving a specific file to the cloud. The file is already an .aic and I can't seem to save any changes made to the file. I only started facing this problem a few days ago. Other .aic that I edit save to the cloud just fine.I have tried saving it locally, and that works. And then I try to reupload it to the cloud, but it gets stuck at around 80% at the "Preparing for save" dialog.Even duplicating the .aic file and then editing the duplicate does not allow me to save.I'm not sure what's wrong with the file.

Version: 27.8.1 (64 bit), WindowsOS: Windows 10 Since upgrading to 27.8.0, I have no longer been able to export layered PSDs from Illustrator. Unfortunately, downgrading versions doesn't seem to repair this, so it may be an error with Bridge or Photoshop or something deeper in CC. This happens regardless of the source and colourspace, and I've been having to deal with workarounds for a month. The only clue is that the export shows Error 2393, which support searching also doesn't reveal. Any advice? Flattened PSDs work but using a third party export script doesn't. Regardless of the export method, Illustrator delivers the error, locks up, and needs to be force quit.

My computer crashed while working in Adobe Illustrator. When I reopened Illustrator, I had a black screen and was unable to save my work. I quit and reopened the app but the recovery file did not open. Autosave is set up for every 2 minutes and I can see the autosaved version .aid but I can't get it to open. I've tried converting file to .ai, pdf, and eps.  When I try to open it in Acrobat I get the error "Adobe Acrobat could not open 'f54ee7a9-c886-4fcf-99a6-1bf792f7ed9c.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." Thanks for any help on this.

How can I import vector Illustrator files into Powerpoint, so I can edit them later. I have tried PDF (won't work), WMF text breacks up and scaling makes the text crap!EPS looks rubbish.Any ideas?Thanks

I'm on Windows 11, Intel 13th gen, 128GB RAM, 3090 RTX, and Illustrator is underperforming. It runs very poorly, just performing a one-step zoom causes the app to become unresponsive, and editing text is very slow. It ran better 20 years ago. I have no idea what the Illustrator team is doing, but this is far from ideal. I don't know, maybe it's time to abandon this. It's just too messy.

I have my dog's ink paw print. I have scanned it and I would like to create my business logo with it. Is there a way to take all the details of the paw print, change the colour from black and then add text to it? I am new to illustrator and I am not sure if this is even a possibility. Please help! 

To AI software development team, and to all users experiencing similar frustration ..Let me preface with AI has been my GO-TO for all my design files for the past twenty years. Posters, magazine, flyers, social graphics.. you name it. However it never ceases to amaze me that I can create a 626k file, prepare the file for print, and it balloons to 626MB ?!?!?!?! Yes, I've read ALL the technotes here – restart AI, delete prefs, embed your fonts, don't create outlines, etc. Mind you if you're asking someone to NOT create outlines for fonts is a non-starter. Many times bitten, and always shy – no matter how I save the PDF with fonts the printer always calls back asking for the fonts. YOU HAVE TO create outlines to have a successful print file. This has been 100% successful print results for me.That said, the AI wizard developers can't solve how a file can go from 626k to 626 megabytes ?! Boggles the mind.Before you ask me what kind of design files these are - Just for ie simple 2

Illustrator 25.2.3 on Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19042 Build 19042, x64-based PC I have a Variable Library where one of the variables for every single Data Set is a different quotation. It's crucial that the text is presented as a quote using quotation marks. However, when loading using Load Variable Library the quotation marks are removed during the process. I've tried saving as each of the four styles of CSV that Microsoft Excel allows with no success. Also tried a Copy Paste into Google Sheets and then saving from there as a CSV without success. Excel would not allow me to save as XML "because the workbook does not contain any XML mappings". Also tried replacing the quotation marks with Unicode symbols using «» but those did not translate to the "" symbol and just showed up as «». Tried going into Document Setup->Type to change Double Quotes back and forth from «» to "" but it doesn't refresh text that's already loaded. Not sure if there are other methods to tri

Hace unos meses el Illustrator se volvio exageradamente lento, esto pasa cuando son archivos que pesan arriba de 50 MB, antes no sucedia, hasta cambie varias cosas de Preferencias para un mejor rendimiento, al inicio funciono y ahora esta peor. Como dato estos archivos los guardo en un disco duro externo con 1.5 TB libres. Tengo una Microsoft Windows 10 con RAM de 64 e Illustrator se encuentra descargado en el disco local con 953 GB libres. 

My app is not full-screen and I had moved it down to the corner of the window. When I reopened my laptop there's a pop-up in the lower right corner that's partially out of frame. I can't click the "done" button because it's not on the screen, but because the pop-up is prioritized it won't let me move or enlarge the window to access the button. I tried tabbing to the "done" button to try to click via the return button, but it won't let me access the button via the keyboard. Right now I can't use Illustrator at all because I can't close the pop-up. I tried quitting out of Illustrator, tried deleting the app, and tried many ways to move or enlarge the window. After deleting the app I tried downloading the newest version, but it keeps giving me a conflict error. Please let me know how to get rid of the pop-up so I can use Illustrator again. 

Hello, I am trying to export an Illustrator file as a .psd for eventual animation. My layers look good in Illustrator before I export (first attached photo), but then when I open them up in Photoshop they have a folder icon next to them and the "pencil" layer I created is not inside a group (second attached photo). Does anyone know what the folder icon indicates? I am trying to get all of my exported layers in Photoshop to look like the third image, which is a sample I am working with and not one I made myself.

Hi guys, I've adjusted the bleed on my document and made sure to have my media reaching the edges of the bleed. No matter what, when I print, there is still a white border around the page. How do I fix this so that I can print my media full page with no white border? I've also tried messing with the printer but I don't have the option to adjust the printer margins.
