Hi everyone,I'm pretty new to Illustrator and I need a little help with something.I got a design for a logo, so the background needs to be transparent.In my first design ideas I used a white circle, put a black box above it and then just wrote over it.As you can see the end of the white line from the circle is straight.But when I combine the box and the circle, so that I can have a transparent background later, it turns out like this: I want the end of the white line to be straight. How do I do that? Can I do that?

When exporting from ArcGIS Pro, and opening the .aix files in Adobe Illustrator, there is an initial error warning saying "to preserve appearance, some text has been outlined" and my project has issues with some lines of text being outlined which makes it challenging to edit or reflow the text. There is no pattern to discern which lines of text are affected and no symbols in the lines of text that could cause an issue. It is completely random which lines of text are outlined and when re-exporting the same project layout from ArcGIS Pro the same lines of text are affected. I have only noticed this with the font Palatino Linotype so far. I have tried exporting from ArcGIS Pro using different fonts and they do not have the same issue. Illustrator is updated to the newest version, the plugin ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud is on version 3.9, and ArcGIS is updated to the newest version.

When I cut-and-paste layers with content (with Paste Remember Layers) the pasted copy doesn't go into the selected blank layer but duplicates and leaves content in the existing layer. Paste-in-Place acts the same way. How does one copy-and-paste content to a new layer, and/or to a new artboard? Personally, i love adjusting sizes and positions just by simply dragging arrows around using my mouse. It is far simpler for me, if each time drag something it doesn't "jump" too far. I know it could be set somewhere in the top toolbar, but i've done that on someone else's computer. Also, the sensitivity has been much higher by the time i was starting my project. If somebody could tell me how to deal with this, or reccomend me a better way to do these size adjustments etc. it would be lovely.

I am trying to use pathfinder on this shoe so combine all the black and outline the stroke but when i select it-the entire shoe turns black. I go through the shoe and select all the pieces but its taking a long time. help

hello everyone I have any issue with my laptop it is core i5 Lenovo IdeaPad 310 and has 4GB Nvidia mx 920 along with 12GB RAM .Everytime I'm starting illustrator the laptop freeze and the task manager will show cpu 100% for system interrupt.

I'm having issues with exporting artwork from Illustrator, which features a stroke (100pt, round cap) with a gradient (2x colours in gradient, applied along the stroke). I keep getting these weird white breaks, almost like some pixels are missing or are not rendering correctly.  I've tried:Exporting a png directly from illustrator and it appearsExpanding the stroke and exporting and it appearsI've started a new doc and pasted it in there and exported, still appears I've increased the resolution of gradients in my doc setup setting, still appears when exporting.  When it does NOT appear:Placing the AI file into indesign, exporting it as a pngExporting as a jpg from IllustratorWhen you expand the stroke with a solid colour, then manually set the gradient with the free form gradient setting and adding in your point to create the gradual fade from one colour to another. > my current solution to the problem I've checked the artwork and there's no extra points, weird shapes sitting ontop

anytime i open an AI file now al these temp files appear....in all my years of illustrator never seen this.  yes they normally disappear but why are they even showing? they get left over too if theres a crash which i get but why are they appearing where the AI file lives now?  id assume this was happening in library in the past.....  

umm why cant i see handles of my anchor point i am confused how to get handles 

Is there a way of fixing certain objects within an illustrator file (so that they can't be accidentally moved/resized), while maintaining the ability to align other objects to these fixed objects? thanks!

Now all the Chinese font’s names are written in Chinese! How stupid is that! How are you supposed to find a font that you have used in another application? In my case “Songti SC” In the words of the great Victor Meldrew “I don’t believe it!”This will make a complete mess of many of my projects. Is there a way of reversing this ridiculous nonsense so you can read them in English? and why on earth have they done it?

Spacebar stopped working. My txt pulldown menus are grayed out.. Most keyboard commands not working. Running Tahoe 26.2. Tried restarts, uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting my waycom. How am I supposed to fix this? I can't work!

Hi, Why am I only able to move my text box and not able to adjust the sizing, in illustrator?

Let’s say I want to target Illustrator 2026. I’ve seen examples like:<Host Name="ILST" Version="[30.0,30.9]" /> But if a 30.10 comes out, or even a 30.9.1, it falls outside that range. Is there a good way to cover all future 2026 versions?

Please see screenshot below. I need to be able to access the transparency options to resize my preset option when saving an Illustrator file to .eps (the printers use .eps files to work with their software, so saving to another file type is not an option). Can anyone tell me why these are greyed out and how I can fix that? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Hello, I'm fairly new to AI and am currently trying to solve this problem I have in the best way possible. I'm trying to duplicate these sheep (attached below) in a uniform way, but need a way to hide the "extra" lines behind the first sheep. I have been trying to use the erase tool but I'm sure there is a cleaner and more efficient way to achieve this. Does anyone have a good tip or tool for this purpose? I'm having a similar issue with the legs as I need them to follow the shape of the "wool", I feel like both this issues are related and could be solved with a similar tool perhaps?  All my attempts end up looking sloppy...  Thank you! 

After an hour of googling and trying a couple of suggestions on how to do this - I've tried using CC Libraries and saving out a .ase file - I feel like I'm spinning my wheels, nothing has worked, and now I'm wasting a lot of time. Thus I must ask here and hope that an AI expert can help me, even if the answer is that it isn't possible to do what I need so that I can just stop trying/looking. Illustrator v30.1Windows 11 I have 20 different Illustrator files. Each one has a geological diagram in it with a lot of polygon fills, lines, and text labels - suffice to say they're complex images. My client wants to change the colours in the legend, and right now I'm having to go through and change that colour in every document one by one. I am brand new to Illustrator. I just received news that, as a longtime MS Publisher user, Microsoft is dropping Publisher and is not going to even allow contunued use without support.  I am trying to switch to Illustrator. I have downloarded the Avery Template for the label I want to use.But I can find no way to edit and add text, artwork or anything to the label. Please help!

This issue was noted by other users in 2024, but started happening to me a few months ago and I've yet to find a solution.  In most cases when I execute an Ungroup or Unlock command, Illustrator hangs for 5-10 seconds. Often, the cursor also becomes "possessed", eeirly sliding across the screen and not responding to commands.  Then, once the hiccup has passed, back to normal as if nothing has happened.  Needlessy to say this is a severe drag on my workflow and I am getting asked why things are taking so long to complete.  (Unfortunately, the answer is because Adobe...) It is doubtful that it's a hardware or settings issue, as Illustrator worked flawlessly when I first got this machine and the bug can be triggered no matter how simple the file is -- even just ungrouping a few open paths on an empty artboard will do it.  I have also completely wiped and reinstalled both the OS and all software, so it's not a virus or other issue.  My suspicion is that t
