I'm using the free trial to test Illustrator. I'm on a Mac Pro -Illustrator freezes and I have to force quit when I try to:1) save a pattern as a swatch - almost every time2) delete a swatch - almost every time3) export as jpg at 300dpi - every timeI've googled and tried unchecking GPU and resetting preferences -Is this a common problem?If so is there an easy fix?If it keeps happening I may have to delete before my subscription kicks in.

Hello,I’m experiencing an issue in Illustrator 2026 where Separations Preview does not work in CMYK mode. It doesn’t display individual color separations at all — neither CMYK channels nor PANTONE spot colors.What’s more confusing is that this also happens with older files that were created in previous versions and used to work correctly. After opening them in Illustrator 2026, Separations Preview still won’t show the individual colors.Has anyone else encountered this problem, or is it something specific to my setup?Any insights or workarounds would be appreciated.Thank you.

Eyedropper help for text! To apply color, stroke, style, etc, I can use the eyedropper to pick up attributes, hold the ALT key, and apply those attributes to multiple objects. But I can't do the same thing when applying text styles to multiple segments of text. Am I missing something?I do it in InDesign all the time, but I'm tearing my hair trying it in Illustrator. I'm having to switch back and forth between the eye dropper and the text tool over and over and over, to choose the text tool, select the text I'm adjusting, switch to the eydropper, select the style I'm copying, then rinse and repeat about 100 times. I think I'm developing carpal tunnel syndrome just thinkin about it.Note:• YES, I have all the boxes checked for text styles in the settings for the eydropper tool.• NO, I cannot just select all the text boxes at once and apply the selected style with one click. Hi everyone,I’m looking for better ways to present wall texture designs digitally before actual execution. Right now, I usually place texture overlays on wall photos and adjust blending modes in Adobe Photoshop to keep lighting and shadows realistic. Sometimes I also use smart objects to quickly switch between different texture options to present my Painting Services in Dubai Business.My goal is to make previews look as close to real as possible so clients can clearly understand the final result.What’s your workflow for presenting texture finishes digitally?Do you recommend any specific resolution, file format, or export settings for website or client presentations?Would appreciate your suggestions 🙂

Hallo liebe Community, ich wende mich an euch, weil ich kurz vor der Verzweiflung stehe und nicht mehr weiter weiß. Ich arbeite gerne und viel mit Illustrator, aber im jetzigen Zustand ist es nur noch ein Krampf.Alle bisherigen Hilfestellungen / Tipps aus dem Netz haben noch keine Lösung gebracht und ich hoffe, hier weitere Tipps oder Lösungsvorschläge von euch zu erhalten. Problembeschreibung:Kurz und knapp: Ich kann nicht ohne Ruckeln ein-/auszoomen oder verschieben (siehe Video anbei). Manchmal klappt es flüssiger, aber nur für kurze Zeit. Dann fängt es wieder an zu ruckeln. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob es sich um eine große oder kleine Datei handelt, oder ob sie lokal oder über das Netzwerk geöffnet wird. Whenever I create a new file with many many artboards, Illustrator makes two that it labels as 60, not just in name but also in the internal labeling that determines the order and exporting files. Going up to 200, it doesn't seem to have any other duplicates, but I am attaching a screenshot of all of the numbering for reference. One thing this does create a bottleneck in my workflow is that because there is no artboard 59, whatever is on the 59th artboard ends up exporting as 60 and then immediately gets overwritten by the real 60 when exporting from artboards.

Hey all,I had this issue in macOS 26.2, do I updated to 26.3 hoping things would improve. Both have issues.I try saving, the percentage goes up slowly, but eventually goes back down and keeps showing different seemingly random %s. It'll go 15%, then 34%, then 76%, then back down to something like 26%, then 40%, and just keeps going for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. It then eventually gives up and shows the error below:I've tried:Restarting Illustrator (and attempting to save the recovered file) Restarting the computer Checking for Illustrator updates (it's fully up-to-date) Saving to a different location (like the Desktop)Some information:I'm not using any 3rd party plugins. Files do save if I create a new one from scratch and try saving it. Existing files do not.

I'm using Illustrator CC (on a Win7 Pro machine) at a beginner level, probably halfway to intermediate. I'm trying to learn how to blend colors together for highlights of various types (skin tones, clothing, light on objects, etc.) so that when I'm making a graphic for a project I'll have a decent idea of which tool/technique is best for the specific effect I need. I'm trying to use the Smooth Color option in the blend tool. Late yesterday afternoon I recall creating two ellipses (one of which was a solid fill and one of which was a gradient going from black to transparent) and getting a smooth color transition between the two. It was a much harsher effect than I was looking for so I didn't keep it. This morning, while trying to replicate the same thing, I seem to be unable to use smooth color between two objects if one or more of them has a gradient applied. I only get what you see below, which is a step between the two objects.I've done searches and found multiple references to blend

I have been using the keyboard shortcut for non-breaking spaces for ages (Ctrl-Alt-X). Since the latest update, the shortcut does not work. I tried to customise my shortcuts, but it would not let me.

Hello, I have a design I created using the transform mirror tool. I created the guideline using the pen tool and reflection across that axis by drawing with the blob brush tool. Now that the design is finished, I don't know how to get everything that was drawn to combine into one vector so that I can fill individual sections and recolor it. If I delete the vertical reflect line, it causes both sides to come to the center. Even after selecting everything on the mirror layer and expanding, it doesn't remove the mirror function. please help!  

Colors in Illustrator don’t match colors elsewhere. I go to color settings and this is all I have: I tried to follow the instructions at the top of the dialogue box. Bridge crashes when I try to do this. I’ve already uninstalled/re-installed Bridge; it still crashes when I try to follow these instructions.  Side note: Why can’t I select “North America General Purpose,” as I’ve seen others have selected? From the settings drop down, I go to custom: Now, my previous version of Illustrator had an option called US Web Coated (SWOP). As you can see, that is no longer available to me. I have tried to download the ICC Color Profiles from Adobe.  These options do not appear when I try to load them via “Load,” per my  1st screenshot.  What can I do? How do I remove all the lines when I make a square? I think it's some setting I've messed up. 

I already knew CEP, but I just learned something new called UXP.However, I can find documentation for Photoshop,but I can't find documentation for illustration.When will it be released?

When drawing with the paint brush tool it stops drawing after about 8 seconds. If i drawer fast or slow it only drawers for a short time. I timed it to find that it only draws for 8 seconds. If I then start drawing again it will draw longer but still stop after about 30 seconds.

Hello,   I am creating 300+ icons and when I export them for screens there is always an extra pixel. Ex. they are supposed to be 24x24 but they save as 25x24.   I have tried multiple trouble shooting techniques that I have read in forums but nothing I have tried seems to work.   Has anyone found a solution to this?   THANKS!   {Renamed by MOD}

Hey all.  This is probably a really easy answer, but it’s late, my date got screwed, I’m irritated and blah blah blah.  I’m working on an annual report for a non-profit that I work for.  I need to create this text effect and am not sure how to do it.  I know I should just figure it out, but I already wasted two hours working on another concept that was more than I was capable of pulling off.  So, I’m a bit behind the 8 ball here time wise.   I would appreciate any help. thank you! 

Somehow, I created this transparent editable text layer but I can’t remember what I did or where I learned this, so I am hoping some experts can help. All text is editable. Nothing is masked and nothing is grouped. When click, both layers appear as a compound shape in the transparency panel. Blending is normal. Opacity 100%.  

Hi, I have a problem with my illustrator CC 2025. I have try to use the gaussian effect on vector object and when I apply multiply and adjusting the transparency, the effect changes. Can you see the difference with the first image and the last? Once I play around with the transparency of multiply blending, the gaussian changes effect differently even I change back to the same setting as initial starting.  Does anyone has this problem and solved them?

Hi, I have several specific swatch colors saved in the panel.I need to set the color of multiple selected elements to a specific Swatch color, but the Recolor Artwork menu doesn’t show me a list of the swatches I made. Please see attached screenshot. Is this something even possible to achieve in Illustrator?

The Layers panel displays thumbnails incorrectly. There are two main issues:1. The selected layer in the panel doesn't match the selected element in the document. To fix this, you need to change the pane properties (size) each time.2. The thumbnails look like the attached preview. 

Hi,Does anybody know how to paste an object into the perspective grid?Just to be more clear, I know how draw objects from scratch that will snap into the grid (Perspective Grid, there is a tool for that SHIFT+P) , but I have no idea how to copy and paste an existing object into the perspective grid so it snaps to it and act as any other object would normally do after drawing it by using the perspective grid.Your help much appreciated.Thanks
