Hi, i have a table with 3 columns and one row. on cell has a number, next is copy, and next and icon.as you can see below. I have situations in which the copy runs two lines.  how can i set the height of my table that starts with the number 18 to match my cell with the number 17, i have table styles and cell styles set up. i just don't know how do i set a cell height. The art directors I work with use an InDesign template to select various crops for each image. (such as 1:1, 9:16, etc for various outputs). The template has the crop boxes preset and they move the master image around within each box to set the placement of the crop they want. They don't want to change the process in InDesign as the doc is used for other things also I'm trying to find a way to transfer these into my working image in photoshop as paths or masks so once retouching is complete I can run an action to automate the output of the various crops. Currently I have to manually apply all the various crops to the working file by eye. Its often 3-5 crops acorss 80+ images so really hoping to find some shortcuts  Thanks

I love InDesign's Share for Review feature. It makes it quick and easy to communicate with stakeholders and to leave comments where needed. However, I frequently find myself in a situation where I really want to leave a comment straight from the application – without first uploading the document and navigating to the website, only to try to find the spot I want to comment on online. Rather, just opening the Review panel and leaving a comment from there (with a pin or one of the other tools) would be sooo much easier! A few examples I often find myself struggling with: - I find a typo but don't have authorisation to change the document without client approval (text replace tool to suggest a corrected version). - I want to take some creative freedoms but need client approval (e. g. using the pin tool to drop a note what liberties I took).     <Title renamed by MOD>

Changing the font in the character panel and in the "Advanced Workspace" top left panel  does not effect a permanent change even within the same text box. I've disabled Minion through Font Book. I've searched my drive and thrown it away. It just won't die.   <Title renamed by MOD>

Havia um comando no InDesign que quando vc importava um PDF com várias páginas ele importava e criava as páginas que faltavam para completar a importação. É isto? Ou eu estou confundindo com textos importados que ele cria páginas para inserir o resto dos textos???

When attempting to export the PDF file on Windows 10 22H2 using InDesign, I encounter the following error: "Failed to Export the PDF file.Possible cause of failure is present on spread with page number "1"."I've found solutions to this issue on forums, but they were all for Mac users. I'm seeking guidance on how to resolve this on Windows.

I'm having an issue with moving and adjusting line elements in InDesign.    The issue I'm having is that when I adjust a line's length, it also moves itself up or down slightly, making it unaligned in my layout. See picture example below with a before and after. (Sorry if the ruler lines are hard to see) Hopefully you can see that the black line was center aligned with the ruler, but is moved slightly upward after I shortened it. My solution to this for a while was to use the direct selection tool to move the end point where I wanted, but this is a little more tedious. Or I just realign the line after it moves, but this is also tedious.          In addition to this, I noticed when I have a line with an endcap, another issue arises. If I use the arrows on my keyboard to move the line in any direction, it moves DIAGONALLY. See below examples when I use the up arrow to nudge the line, it moves diagonally up and to the left. Hi - I had 3 large files that I have been working on for the last few weeks. The last edits I made were this morning (16th March). InDesign updated after I finished working on them. I have just tried to open the files - they are showing in "Open Recent" but the files are no longer there. I have searched my PC & external drives but cannot find them. I have versions of the files from 14th March. The only .indd files I have dated 16th March are "Adobe Experimentation" files which I guess were placed on my PC during the update. The update seems to have removed today's version of the three files. Can anyone help me recover them?

I know many people have posted about this before, but now I'm compelled to raise it. Again. Having just updated to InDesign v19.4, running Sonoma 14.5 on my 2019 iMac, the issue where InDesign won't allow you to save a document or undo actions is back again, just like I've had on-and-off with the past several versions of InDesign. It's clearly an unresolved bug —why does it keep happening, and why should I pay Adobe for this kind of experience? Yes, I can salvage my work by exporting it as an IMDL, or force quit and see what's recovered when I reopen the application, but it's such a rubbish experience, so flaky and unstable, and these are the most basic functions anyone would want to utilise. What is the problem here, and when will Adobe finally sort it out? Rant over, thanks.

Hi, Dear Friends!I sometimes have pages in InDesign that run a little too far to the beginning of the next page. These pages are almost all text, fonts of different sizes, and paragraphs with borders and shading. Is there a way to tell the ID string everything on this page so the entire content fits on one page and will do it optimally to retain quality? I know there is a function in MS Word for this, but can it be done in ID?Thank you, and have a good day!Susan Flamingo

I am unable to open a file from the initial InDesign screen of recent documents. The message is "This file is already open by another user.." I am the only user as it is my personal iMac using Catalina. I am using the current version of InDesign 15.0.1. Also I keep having to relink many of my images although they have not been moved. This has been going on for some time. Can someone please help identify the problem?    

I work on a team of 3 designers and there are many instances when we need to access and make updates to someone else’s files. It looks like if someone other than the original owner of the document is trying to update the "Share" link a new InDesign file needs to be created. Is there any work around for this? The attached screenshot shows the error message we receive. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! 

Hallo,ich habe ein Layout mit Vektorgrafik (.eps), dieses möchte ich in geringer auflösung gerastert als pdf exportiert haben. Das funktioniert aber nicht. Immer ist bleibt die grafik in der pdf in vektoren.Früher war das nicht so glaube ich. Das kann doch nicht wahr sein das dies nicht mehr funktioniert!?Lange telefonat mit adobe-helfern hat nichts gebracht.Ich bin frustriert von adobe!

I'm having this 'here we go again' feeling, I've just encountered a major problem for my web-app business with Publish Online which is great when it works, but upon opening one of my client's web-apps, I discovered to my horror that there's now a gap all the way round the app, effectively shrinking the highly optimised layout to the point of ruining it on a smaller smart phone.Also, again to my horror, links aren't functioning, as well as swiping being disabled!What's really odd is that the same publish online document already open in my mobile from yesterday works fine and links are all OK?

I've recently had an issue working in Indesign and exporting an interactive PDF where some colours in the document change/go missing. The document is in RGB and created for use as an interactive planner used in an annotation app.   In indesign the colours are great, once exported and opened in Acrobat, the colours are great but when uploaded into Goodnotes, or simply opening the PDF on my iPhone, the colours change...   Would appreciate any advice on this issue!

Every time I am trying to open indesign documents, use indesign and/or quit indesign the same message pops up " Cannot handle the request because a modal dialog or alert is active". I have no clue what to do and am very desperate ! please help

Hi to the whole community.I have a lot of very similar documents with fields that I have tried format with the Indesing "Find/Change List" script, however I do that in some cases work but other cases don't.I attach the InDesign document and FindChangeList file with some examples.I attached two files (InDesign with some text and the .txt files with the examples of grep find/appliedParagrpahStyle that work and those that don't work).In the .txt file you can see //It works very well and //But the others such as chapter, section and others do not work.Can anyone help me?I am very grateful for that.

hi, I don't understand why InDesign doesn't offer "target: blank" to open a new page in the "hyperlink / url" function? Can someone tell me why this simple little checkbox is not present (and it could make our lives easier)? Thanks!   <Title renamed by MOD>

Dear people i can't seem to find this issue anywhere else. Maybe I overlooked it but for an assignment I need this to be finished ASAP. I have this design here. and as you can tell i have the text form around the letters. but for some reasons there is like these bigger gaps inbetween and I can't seem to fix them. It's not done with tab, not too many space bar ticks either. it's just this weird gaps. Earlier it also had issue with moving text when i would make the text box smaller or bigger. to where it would cut out the copied text in general instead of just the few words that wouldn't fit. could someone help a student out here!??   <Title renamed by MOD>  

I need a serif font with a glyph for the Latin aa (shown above). I placed a Word doc into InDesign with the text in Times New Roman. The glyph displays when I view the source doc in Word but not when I place the text in InDesign. I tried entering the Unicode (U+A733) but still got the missing glyph. Searching the Glyphs Panel with the code doesn't find it either. Thanks in advance for any help!         <Titile renamed by MOD>

Hi, Im doing a script that ends up with images loaded in the place gun. Is there a way to only enable the "grid-tool" with the script, so you dont need to press cmd+shift when placing the images on the page?

Graphic Design teacher here (high school). One of my 29 students cannot create a new file or open any existing files saved to his InDesign account. All students are working with me step-by-step on the same version of InDesign (no updates) and same iMac computers and for some reason, just one student's is giving him this error message when he clicks "Create" on a new file, or tries to open an existing file:"No content collected. Collect page item(s) using the Content Collector tool, then place them using the Content Placer tool." We've never even touched the Content Collector tools as the students are just learning to use InDesign for the first time together.Their iMacs are running Sonoma 14.6.1, InDesign Version 19.5 via Creative Cloud for K12 schools.  Thanks!       <Title renamed by MOD>

Olá, Estou a criar um catálogo onde tenho de copiar e editar muitas tabelas para as formatar de novo. Nas linhas, tenho de selecionar e escrever manualmente o tamanho que pretendo. Há forma de criar um estilo ou regra e não ter de estar sempre a escrever a medida?

I'm not sure what's going on but when opening Indesign 2024 now he top menu where you go File, Save has disappeared and I can't see how to get it back. Does anyone have a solution for this please?
