We have Indesign plugin to generate the Indesign file at Indesign , using the uxp script to generate the Indesign file , While generating the Indesign we needed the loader for  client don't allow to plugin , please could you provide the code to prepare loader .Thanks

Dieses kleine Symbol "Nur Text einfügen" (T) das ständig in der letzten Zeile des vorhandenen Textes angezeigt wird, wenn man Text aus einer anderen Anwendung kopiert ist unfassbar nervig und optisch eine derartige typografische Störung, dass die Arbeit erschwert wird.

I was trying to make an overset in the footnote area. But when I enter more and more text in the foot note it just grows upword. Is it possible to have an overset in the footnote area? 

I'm developing a plugin for Adobe InDesign that allows users to add media from plugin. Currently, there is a feature to identify updated media versions within plugin's backend and display them in the Links panel.I'm looking to implement a new feature that mirrors InDesign's functionality: the ability to update selected plugin media with their latest versions in a single action. InDesign allows users to achieve this by selecting media in the Links panel, right-clicking, and selecting "Update URL."However, I'm unsure how to replicate this behaviour within my plugin. Is there a recommended approach for plugins to interact with the Links panel and update selected media? Any guidance or resources on achieving this functionality would be greatly appreciated

Hi, we have an InDesign server license, the limited version for a totally in house solution. What I can't understand from any searches, is whether we can run two or more instances on one server in order to increase throughput, so is the licensing:  Per machine/server, so we can run say two instances on one server, but not two servers with one instance each, or Per instance - so if we want to run two instances of InDesign server on different ports on the same machine, we'd have to pay for another license. Does anybody know the answer please?

I have just come up against a problem where I am exporting a PDF from Indesign, which is outputting the images at 244ppi, not 300ppi. The original images are at 300 ppi. I have tried all high-resolution exports from the preset menu and the export menu options All the high-resolution options have these same values for the compression. I have tried, high-quality, press quality and the PDFx1 options. I have also tried compatibility up to Acrobat 8 to no avail. Does anyone know how to fix this so I get the images coming out as 300 PPI in the pdf? 

Hi there – I have a scripting problem outlined below but not sure if its even possible.Is it possible use javascript to loop through all groups in a document and then target the group that contains the word “CALLOUT” with a find replace GREP to remove some pricing? And not touch the groups that don’t contain the  “CALLOUT” . The callout text box and the text box with the pricing are independent  of each other. FIND was \$\d+(\.\d{2})? now \$\d+(\.\d{2})? & delete. If possible what would that javascript look likeThe group on the left does not contain the callout and the group items on the right does.There could be many of these groups in a document. Any help appreciated. 

I have two images I have created in Photoshop 2024 for two different books I have completed.First book - the cover design imports into InDesign within the parameters of the book cover template.  The cover photo is 6x9, 1800x2700 (pixels).  The book cover template I set in Indesign is 6x9.  I can design the spine and back cover matter and look perfect.Second cover - the cover photo is same parameters - 6x9 at 1800x2700 pixels.  Same template design.  The spine is set larger due to more pages.  I import the second photo into the new template and it blows up beyond the Indesign workspace.  I can't seem to change the scale of this image without cutting off huge portions of the original image.Why would two different images of the same file size behave differently?  I recreated the second book cover template w/in InDesign and got the same results.  The only difference between the two files is one is a larger file size for the data contained by 233

I oftern work on different machines/upgrade machines and sign into my adobe account. Every time I loose all my document presets. I make a lot of preset document templates, and have to make them all many times a year currently. It would be a great feature to have these presets saved in the cloud, so no matter which machine a user is working on, their presets are there once signed in. 

I am working on a 5" x 8" book that has a 5.125" x 8.25" trim size with the printer. For bleed settings, then, I have 0.125" (3.175mm) on the top, bottom, and outside, and 0.0" bleed on the inside. My book has some special circumstances (replicating something that needs to remain a certain size because it is "real" size), so I don't have flexibility really in terms of the total size my content takes up. Including my page numbers, I currently have about 5mm of space at the top above the page numbers and 13mm of space at the bottom below the text. However, after a couple draft prints, I realized that there is some fluctuation in the cut so that in some prints I get 1mm of space at the top and then about 18mm of space at the bottom. I am trying to figure out what the easiest way would be to basically move all the content of every single page (images/text/etc.) down about 3-4mm so then I can have around 8-9mm at the top and then 10mm at the bottom. I thought maybe I sho

I have a bunch of .p65 files that I need to open and convert to InDesign. I was able to open them a few months ago but cannot seem to be able to replicate now.I have both CC (InDesign 2019) and CS5.5 running on Mac OS 10.14.4.When I try to open the .p65 in CS5.5, I get an error: "The PageMaker document is damaged and cannot be recovered."When I try to open in CC, I get this error: Cannot open the file "xxxx.p65". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.Again, I know I was able to open these docs a few months ago, but I didn't think to convert them (dumb). Any ideas?

When you click, wait half a second, then drag an item, ID displays a high quality preview while dragging, not just the usual frame outline when dragging. This is convenient for placing items accurately viusually.  When it works. When doing this with a AI vector image inside the image container, ID shows both a high- and low resolution composite simultaneously.  Why. I just can‘t. Please fix.

Our entire team's InDesign keeps locking up when trying to export to PDF or place an image. We've uninstalled/reinstalled, removed preferences, reverted to a previous version, and tried PDFing various ways. Anyone else having issues like these?

Hi,I have 10 seperate indesign files I am trying to combine into one book. The first number of the section number starts correctly in each page, but the second number is not reseting. For example, currently in file 1, the section numbers go 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, ..., 1.5Afterwards in file 2, the section numbers go 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, ... 2.11 and then in 3, 3.12, 3.13, etc. However, I want the section numbers to start at x.1 in each chapter. so in file 2, it should start at 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.. Is this possible and how can I can this?Thanks

InDesign 2024 19.4.0.63 is choppy and freezes with MAC OS Sonoma 14.5 (Open-Core-Patcher.app on Mac Retina 5K, 27'', iMac ultimo 2014, 3,5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2 GB, Memory 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3). Is there a known problem with Open-Core-Patcher on Mac ultimo 2014 or similar?

Help! See attached screen recordings and screenshot. This has been happening for a long time. Sometimes, when I go into, or out of, preview mode (by pressing "W"), I get really strange effects.  I don't know what's causing it because it doesn't happen all the time and seems rando. Sometimes it will be resolved if I zoom in or out. Sometimes I have to just save my file and restart InDesign. Anybody know what's happening here?  I'm on Mac OSX Sonoma and InDesign 2024. But, this has been happening for several versions of InDesign and in previous OS versions. Thanks!

Hi there,I was wondering if there is a way to invert the pages and text colors of a placed multi-page pdf once it's in InDesign? In the past, I've literally had to select "Edit With" then "Photoshop" for every individual page in order to invert and add a textured background, before saving and then dropping it back in place of the page. Is this the only way to do it? **For context, I'm not seasoned in this program yet and have never used a word document rather than a pdf, so I realize there might be more functionality for a docx than a pdf. Problem is, I use one main program to format the bulk of my books, then transfer to InDesign after generated to create additional formatting the other program does not offer.

I recall seeing an Adobe online publication some while ago that was devoted to accessibility in InDesign. Of course, I can't find it again. Does anyone have a link?

I’m running InDesign 19.4.0.63 on a Mac Studio running MacOS Sonoma 14.5. Everything has been fine until this morning. Now I can’t open anything: ID hangs up the moment I try to open any document. I’ve nuked my preferences and caches and ultimately reinstalled ID. No improvement. ANyone have this experience? Any ideas?

Hi all, I am creating manuals that have headers and images/dimensional drawings. I will need to edit these manuals with additional text and or images to add delete. I have been using one large text box on an A4 layout and then adding everything inside. The textboxes are linked at the end of the bottom of each page to the next page so that the headers (levels 1-4) and table of contents will all sync properly. However, this means that when I add in text the images get thrown around at times. I may of course also delete text, add in several pages, delete images, etc as needed when updating these documents. I should note manauls are around 200 pages long. This creates a bit of chaos and the only strength of this practice seems to be the linking of the headers. I do realize I could manaually adjust the headers, but was not sure if this is the best approach.It was suggested to me to make small textboxes for each section and then I can add or edit these but the issue is it seems the headers w
