Magnetism isn't working on indesign 2024 and it makes my job difficult ! What can I do to bring magnetism back ? I've tried anything I could possibly find. What's the trick ? 

how do i get my columns to show up, why are they in the rest of the doc but not the parent page?                               regular                                      vs.                                    parent 

Suddenly the text stops filling a text box; a large part of the box remains empty, no matter what I do. The work around is to fit to text and flow to a new text box which I've put in place, but this may cause extra problems if the preceding text has to reflow. There is no page break I can find (and I deleted them all when I brought the text in from Word). I am making corrections to this complex document, and this problem just started occurring. I am attaching a screen capture and the original document. The problem is on page 30 (and others).   <Title renamed by moderator>  

I'm looking to do something simple. I want to simply hide parts of text that fall outside the edges of a page. I have a file where this has been done but can't seem to duplicate it on another file. I've pasted a sample of what I'm trying to do.   <Title renamed by moderator>

Bonjour, depuis quelques semaines, mon panneau couleur ne fonctionne plus, je ne peux plus modifier les couleurs via le panneau, les curseurs sont grisés comme s'ils n'étaient pas accessibles. La seule façon de choisir une couleur est d'en créer une nouvelle grâce au nuancier - galère donc. C'est un problème que j'avais rencontré sur illustrator il y a quelques temps et qui avait fini par se résoudre seul ou via un mise à jour qui m'aurait échappé. À noter : j'ai un mac book pro de 2015, avec la version 14.0.3 qui fonctionne très bien à part ça (donc pas la dernière version de la suite). Merci à vous

InDesign has been running on my Mac fine, up until today. Suddenly I cannot create a new file or access my Preferences (all greyed out - see screen grabs). Am I just being stupid?! Can anyone help?   Jack   InDesign 19.4 Mac Studio running Sonoma 14.5     <Title renamed by moderator>

I have many Indesign files that seem to no longer work. I've recently changed to a new laptop, and resynced Dropbox with my desktop. I'm running Indesign 19.4 within Sonoma 14.5 on a MacBook air (the latest). In the thumbnail I can see all linked content, images (PNG), types and various fonts, etc.   The error message is: Cannot place this file. Invalid PNG file.   I can see this is an old issue here on the community, but nothing new about this error. Any help would be most helpful.   <Title renamed by moderator>

Hi All, I am looking for the solution to fix Index pages.I have an array and need pages sorted as per below example:var myArray = [5, 6, 7, 43, 45, 65, 66, 77, 98, 99, 100, 123, 155, 166] output = [5ff, 43, 45, 65f, 77, 98ff, 123, 155, 166] so logic is if there is page range continue more than 2 thfn "ff" will add and if its just more than one time then "f". I am unable to logic this loop so any help will be appreciated. Thanks,Shonky

Hello, i've recently bought a new macbook pro, with the M3 chip and downloaded InDesign. When opening a document, it doesn't allow me to change my workspace to any of the adobe workspaces (essentials, essentials classic etc). How do I get them back? The option was there on my windows and on my 2020 mac, but have disapeared on my new mac.    <Title renamed by moderator>

When I use the layout grid to typeset it, why can't I control the width of the frame of the frame grid? It is always 1-2 words wider than the type area?Can't it be directly suitable for the type area when it is imported?The layout grid is 1 column. The frame grid is 2 columns

Hi, in 2012 I bought InDesign CS6. I want to install it on my new computer, but the email address I used in 2012 to make an Adobe ID is not recognized yet. Now I made a new account, but when I fill in the serial number, it says 'serial number is still in use'. What can I do to make it work?

Hi, I have been trying to learn more about blacks and how they're printed. Something I don't understand is this issue with an EPS logo I have placed on a document. It looks fine on in InDesign, on the exported PDF, but when printed has a more rich black behind it. 

Bonjour, Je viens de faire la mise à jour système sur mon Mac et depuis, c'est la gabegie dans InDesign (je n'ai pas encore testé Photoshop et Illustrator, mais j'en tremble d'avance)! On dirait que l'appli est devenue folle. L'écran clignote ou devient blanc dès que je fais un défilement manuel ou sélectionne une portion de texte, c'est insupportable! Avez-vous trouvé des parades et/ou savez-vous si Apple ou Adobe travaillent à résoudre ces problèmes?Merci pour vos lunières et très bone journée!

I've been using this template for years without a hitch, but today referenced file paths in data merge for images is referencing the incorrect folder. Text paths are completely OK. I have looked at merges from years ago and tried to re-run them and the same thing is happening.  For example I have a CSV with a path to folder SVG Company Logos, but the missing images are pointed to the folder where the INDD file is saved. In this case I set up a folder called "temp" since I started from scratch. If I put the images I'm referencing in that "temp" folder, it works, but I have always been able to reference a separate folder (SVG Company Logos).  Any thoughts on what has changed here? It's quite frutstrating as the workaround is not exactly conducive to the intention of data merge.

I inherited a book in Indesign to finish the project.  There are these "quotes marks in green" on some pages (see attachment).  They are not linked graphics and I can't highlight them as text.  Please identify and help me to change the color of the quote marks. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Michael

Hi, everyone! I am making a weekly planner in InDesign where each day should have listed the sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset etc. for three different cities. I have no problem using data merge to fill in all the correct months and dates, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to include all the solar and lunar stats without creating a monster of a spreadsheet. The challenge is that one row in the spreadsheet represents one week of data in InDesign. I am suddenly having a problem sending a 44-page booklet to my printer.  I have a print run of 250 and it tries to download the resources 250 times instead of once.  Of course, the system won't cope with this and crashes so I have to do a 10-copy run which is frustrating, has an InDesign update caused this?

Hi there,I'm looking for a solution to format chapter titles so that they wrap dynamically based on the length of the chapter number. The requirements are: The chapter title should start after an em space from the chapter number.The chapter title should wrap automatically without using the "indent to here" feature. For example, "CHAPTER ONE" and "CHAPTER TWELVE" should both have their titles aligned properly and wrap naturally based on the length of the chapter number. Please refer to the attached screenshot for a visual example of what I'm trying to achieve. Any help or guidance on achieving this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,Bhaskar
