The Zoom feature in lightroom has started to behave strangely. If I click on the 100% option, rather than zooming it reduces the image so that it fills approximately 50% of the workspace. If I then select a lower zoom level (say, 50%), the image is reduced further. I can only zoom by selecting a value such as 200% or higher, but it is hard to say what zoom level that actually corresponds to. What's going on here? Thanks.
The behavior of importing with LRC seems to have changed (for the worse) recently. I want to import a TIFF file that surely is somewhere in my catalog, though I do not know exactly where. A copy of the TIFF file is in a folder on my desktop but what I need is a JPEG file. I want to derive a JPEG file from that TIFF file. But when I try to import that TIFF file, the new import dialog simply provides me no way to import it , apparently because it is already somewhere in my catalog (thought it does not say where). In what seems to be a new import dialog, it does not even display the file extention (which would be a big convenience). If I filter for files ending in .tif, no files are displayed though I know for certain there are several .tif files in the folder.
Lightroom has become cripplingly slow. I have tried a number of things to no avail. My set-up:Dell PC xps 8940 Intel Core i9-10900cpu @2.80 32g ram Intel uhd graphics 630 Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 super I keep my photos on an external WD drive. It's 5 Tb. I use 2.95 and have 1.58 free. Things I have already tried:Created a new catalog Reset my preferencesUpdated all drivers. Tested all the drives/processors I could for any issues. Everything returns as being good. I even refreshed my PC and then reinstalled everything. Still nothing. I can't help but think that the issue has to do with conflicts between LRC and LR Mobile. I don't have much to base that on other than I have been using a tablet to cull photos and the my system seemed to slow when I did that. It really broke when I tried to import ~1k photos from LR mobile into my old catalog a few weeks ago. I ended up creating that new catalog. It was so bad that that is why I created the new catalog. Right now, for example, I'm trying t
HELP updated LR classic yesterday to newest update now can't view or edit anything in my catalog and images can't be viewed all greyed out can't import any either won't shut down I have to force it using Mac studio
Hello,Am I the only one having issues with LrC's masking? As shown in the screenshot that's attached, the mask no longer fully covers the object. There also seems to be an issue with the feathering of the mask, making a distinct line between what is and isn't part of the mask. I've been having various problems for months (this is not my first posting regarding masking), This is what I believe keeps getting my stock images refused. I'm getting frustrated. Everything started going wrong after a recent update. Please fix this issue, Adobe! This image has only been processed in Lightroom Classic, the most recent version as I'm a monthly subscriber. Not sure what other info you might need, but I use a windows based desktop. Thanks for any insight you can provide.
I am using lightroom classic 14.3.1 right now and recently I want to rebuild my catalog so I created a new one and trying to import the photos from NAS (local network). For the first several thousand it was okay, but after that, the import seems impossible anymore. I break the job and trying to just sync one folder with several hundreds photos. Everytime it might work for the first several and then stucked (no matter whether i restart the application or restart the job or optimize the catalog, nothing helps). Does anybody know why and how to solve this? The attached screenshot shown when there was no progress anymore how the import bar looks like.
For the past several months, when I auto-process images in Develop, I get unwanted color highlights, usually bright red or blue, in the image. If I save the images outside Lightroom, these highlights disappear, but they’re still very annoying when examining images inside Lightroom. The only way I’ve found to mostly get rid of them is to adjust White and Black tonal values to zero. Even then, some stray color may persist. But...maybe I want blacks or whites? Any suggestions for killing this “improvement” in Lightroom Classic?
Yesterday, I encountered problems with Lightroom and Photoshop freezing on my Mac with an M1 processor. Reinstalling the operating system did not resolve the issue.
Lightroom Classic just stays on the artwork that is displayed while loading.Seems to get stuck on reading preferences.Lightroom doesn't open up either but has an error message that says:AgImageIOInit.init: failed to initialize Camera Raw: initializing Camera Raw: dng_error_unknown All other Adobe apps are working so I have no idea what's going on with these.
I have a smart collection definition that seeks out all images that show the down arrow labelled, “Metadata file need to be updated”. It was working fine for a long while but recently it ceased to pick up those files. The instruction is, Match all, “Metadata Status > is not > Up to date”.
Something in Lightroom classic keeps thinking the external where I run my library is still needed. Either I force eject or I shut the Mac down and then remove and restart. Not a big deal, just a daily waste of time.

I have lost the connection between my pictures in Flickr and my public service in lightroom classic. Im using JF Flickr (Jeffrey). Its 0 pictures there, I have around 1500 on Flickr. I have tried to reaturized them, remove JF application in Flickr and in Lightroom, noting seems to help. Flickr suport coundent help and Jeffrey is not aswering. Upon rotating an image 90º (clockwise), it becomes completely distorted, albeit only in Develop mode, in Library (and, most fortunately, when exporting) it’s OK.distorted in develop module (OK in filmstrip and library mode)Rotating back (counterclockwise) doesn’t restore normal proportions. It’s as if the “canvas”would rotate, but the image would not, and instead be stretched to fill the new canvas.Weird…. LRC 15.2.1 Release, up to date on 04/15/2026

In Lightroom Classic grid mode, the top toolbar now covers part of the grid. In full-screen mode I can't even see the file names. Is this something I can fix here?
I’m laboriously working on ridding my computer of duplicate images. I wonder if anyone has developed a technique les tedious than what I’m doing. I know LR doesn’t find duplicates so this is what I’m doing now:Run a duplicate file finder program that lists the duplicatesCheck LR (version 4.4) to see if they are in it.If both are, I mark one as rejected and proceed to the next in the listIf only one is, I use Windows Explorer to confirm the non LR image is indeed on my computer and delete it in Explorer, sometimes moving the LR image to the folder of my choiceIf neither is there, I import one to LR, and delete the other in Explorer.Filter LR images for the rejected attribute and delete all these from the disk Am I making this harder than it should be? How are you all dealing with eliminating duplicates? Thanks, hal
Since LrC 15 I get this popup: Smart previews have been the single thing that kept Lightroom Classic moving decently for me, even when my Macbook was brand new, even when I made super powerful workstations before that. Lightroom Classic has always been slow loading original images, no matter what I did, except for enabling the use of smart previews. Now the app says I should disable the only thing making usable for someone editing thousands of pics at a time. Now I have to go through several steps when I need one of the new models (because working with smart previews does indeed lower the output quality), then go through several steps again to enable the use of smart previews, when the only logical thing to do was probably a single line of code saying “if CurrentPic.source == SmartPreview {CurrentPic.source == Original} when using one of the features needing originals. Please fix this simple yet horrendous user experience bug asap.
I have been using LR for many years and have had no problem with dragging images in the film strip to reorder them. Recently, this has become very erratic. Sometimes it works okay other times, even though the cursor shows I have picked up the image, when I drop it it either just returns to the original place, drops somewhere random or even sometimes another image will randomly change place.I have tried shutting down and restarting both my laptop and LR but the problem persists. I have the order set to, ‘custom’. I have also collapsed and reopened the filmstrip. The problem also occurs in the library module using grid view. What once took my 5 minutes is now taking hours, it’s very frustrating. Any help would be great.Dave
In moving to a new MacBook Air I lost a year’s worth of photos even though backed up with both Backblaze and an external drive. That is history. How can I create photos from my smart previews on this new computer. It tells me the MacBook Air won’t do it. All I can come up with is taking a screenshot.. Thanks for any help.
