I’m an experienced Photoshop user and I had been using this setting for a long time without any issues. However, I had to reset my settings recently, and since then, this feature has not been working properly.Here’s the issue:When I hold the Shift key and scale from the corner handles, proportional scaling works fine. I have just imported a load of files (see attached) and they look corrupt - when I open them in PS they display okay but in Bridge they are displaying as errors - I have never seen anything like this before 

I recently upgraded my motherboard and now I can’t use my copy of Photoshop CS6 because it says my serial number is already in use by the maximum allowed computers.Those computers no longer exist, so I have no way to deactivate the licences on them.I tried to deactivate devices in my account settings, but that didn’t help. Is there any other way to deactivate the old installs? Thanks

I would like to raise a concern regarding the recent update to the Canvas Size dialog box. In previous versions, it was possible to quickly perform calculations directly in the width/height fields (for example, adding *2 to instantly double the canvas size). This was a very efficient workflow feature, especially for production work.With the new dialog redesign, this functionality appears to be removed or restricted. Could you please clarify whether this change was intentional, and if there are plans to restore support for direct mathematical input? Hello, I'm trying to remove the background of an image. I bring the image into PS, goto properties > Quick Actions > Remove Background. I click it, the system thinks for a second and then comes up with an error saying that 'Remove Background Failed'   The background layer is unlocked etc. I've tried everything. The image was downloaded from a paid version of Vecteezy, so it shouldn't be a permissions issue. Note: moderator removed Actions and Scripting from tags.  

Hi, I just updated my photoshop to 2025 and have noticed a considerable brush lag since the update.  Normally I go to settings>preferences>deactivate native canvas rulers, but I don't see that option in 2025.  Any advice on how to improve the brush lag?

We have a studet in our school. She createdAdobe cloud data. After the left the school, here Adobe account was deactivated. I saw here account but not as an active one. I shared here data with my Adobe account and was able to download a .zip file. This file contains a couple of .psdc file, but these files can’t be used in Photoshop for example. We want to help the studet to either:Convert the Adopbe Cloud files (.psdc) or Activate here Adobe student account, that she is able to work with the cloud data by here own.

Al usar el relleno generativo con la herramienta lazo y expandir zonas, al generarse la nueva capa con IA, deja un surco bastante notable entre la capa original y la generada, algo que anteriormente fusionaba sin problema. Llega hasta crearse una sombra entre capa y capa, haciendo muy notable la combinación. No he tocado ningún ajuste para que eso se haya configurado de tal manera, no se si a alguien mas le pasa o sabe que ajuste tocar para que todo se resetee. A veces retocando con la densidad mejora pero es algo que anteriormente nunca he tenido que usar ya que funcionaba perfectamente. Un saludo

I changed nothing. Suddenly today, as I wipped the REMOVE TOOL over some bricks, I get this green blob. HOW CAN I FIX THIS? I love this new tool....why is it not working???? HELP???  

After entering a number followed by a dash (hyphen) - when I press another number the text cursor places that number before the already typed out number. 

Hello,After updating to Photoshop version 26.10, I noticed an unexpected change in the behavior of the Free Transform tool.In previous versions, Free Transform would maintain the aspect ratio by default when dragging from the corners, which is the workflow I’m used to. But in version 26.10, the object now transforms without keeping the aspect ratio unless I manually hold Shift — and sometimes the behavior feels reversed (Shift toggles the opposite). This has made the workflow confusing and less practical.- I already checked that “Use Legacy Free Transform” is unchecked.- I also made sure the link/lock icon (Maintain Aspect Ratio) is active in the options bar.- Despite these checks, the issue persists in version 26.10.Could someone confirm if this is an intended change in Photoshop 26.10, or if it’s a bug that needs fixing?I really hope Adobe restores the previous default behavior where aspect ratio is preserved automatically, as this change is very disruptive for design work.Thank you.

I’m facing an issue that I’ve been trying to solve for the past two weeks.My computer is compatible with Photoshop 2022, but when I try to install Photoshop through Adobe Creative Cloud, it tells me that the current version is not compatible with my system. The problem is that I cannot find the option to install older versions within Creative Cloud.I’ve searched for solutions and read many articles, but none of them worked.I’m looking for a real solution to this issue, or a way to download a compatible version of Photoshop. If possible, I would appreciate a direct download link for Photoshop 2022.

I’m experiencing a weird, ongoing issue.Intermittently, when I open up a PSD file in Photoshop, a separated ‘Help article’ window on the Adobe website opens in my browser (in the latest case: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/desktop/text-typography/get-started-with-text/add-text.html#update-text-layer)I’m certain it’s not a mis-click, and it’s been happening for a number of months. It’s usually when I first open photoshop, and choose an existing file from the Home/history screen.I found an article about it possibly being a Registry Issue, but that seems like a slightly different issue, and is within Acrobat, rather than Photoshop.Useful details:Windows 11 Photoshop on latest version Issue intermittent (i.e. doesn’t happen every time). I haven’t discerned a specific pattern. I can’t recall if it’s this same help article each time, sadly.Any help appreciated!

When I try to modify a photo is says there is an error

You see when I use the selection tool it just keeps painting my objects with magenta. But the thing is that I'm missing the marching ants here and the auto selection which was enabled by default going together with the marching ants and it allowed to either to select a certain area or to deselect it, and it basically knew what to select... Now here's this manual brush-like selection which isn't smart!I tried to turn on the selection edges in the settings, but as soon as I start painting again it gets back to default disabling the marching ants and yeah auto selection with it 

I can’t seem to find a functioning download link for the Photoshop action ‘Toon Artist’. Please help.

Yesterday everything was as usual in Photoshop… today when I create a new file it automatically creates an artboard with a layer. I don’t want that. I can’t figure out how to stop it from happening. I know I can create a new layer in the Layers panel and then delete the artboard but that’s just an extra step. Is it me, or is this something new in Photoshop?

During normal manual use, the following steps work without any problem:Select Layer → Remove Background → Generate BackgroundHowever, if I record those exact same steps as a Photoshop action, then reopen the same image and play the action, Photoshop fails every time with:“An error occurred while generating the image.”The important point is that the exact same workflow works manually, but fails only when played back as an action.This looks less like an image or prompt issue, and more like a problem with Photoshop action playback together with generative AI.If anyone has seen the same issue or knows a workaround, I would appreciate any advice.[Moved to Photoshop ecosystem by a moderator]
