I’m trying to detect the background/subject while editing pictures, but I keep getting the message “no background detected. couldn’t find background to select” on all images. This is a recent issue that I’ve been having and can’t figure out why. I’ve updated my Mac and Photoshop software, reset my computer, and made sure my GPU settings were set to auto. How do I fix this? 

I am using a new Apple Mac equipped with the M4 processor (Apple Silicon). Due to highly unstable and limited internet connection constraints at my current location, downloading the software through the Creative Cloud desktop application keeps failing, disconnecting, or downloading extremely slowly, resulting in corrupted installation files.Can You help me? I have licence via school account.

Please restore the "Delete Hidden Layers" command in the Layers panel menu.In recent versions of Photoshop (27.8), the Delete Hidden Layers command has disappeared from the Layers panel menu. It used to be available directly from the panel and was an essential productivity feature for many professional users.Removing this shortcut forces users to perform additional steps for a very common housekeeping task. This is a regression in usability rather than an improvement.Please restore Delete Hidden Layers to the Layers panel menu, where it was for many years. It was easy to find, consistent with professional workflows, and saved valuable time when cleaning complex PSD files.Many long-time Photoshop users rely on this command every day. Help with Regenerative AISo many issues with the Regenerative AI feature in photoshop. I’m simply trying to change backdrops and it keeps changing things in my masked selections. Anyone else experiencing this? 

Good morningI need to organise my table color from the end, like this If i save in TIFF, this table remain the same. But if I save in PCX, the table restart from code 0.like here :This trouble happen in Photoshop 27. On Photoshop 24, the table kept the same order, but since i’m working on Photoshop 27, this re-order happen and ruin my file. My question : how to keep the color table in the same order, from TIFF to PCX. Regards,

I can’t use clone stamp since it will not define the source. I am only on one layer. I tried flattening image, copying image. Nothing works. I am using Mac Tahoe 26.5 system and Photo shop 26.1

For some reason every time I open photoshop there is a weird yellow/tan filter over everything, not just the image, but it doesn't actually apply to the image when I export. Attached is a screenshot of what a blank white image appears as in photoshop and the same image as a png. As you can see it appears tan for some reason, is there a reason for this? Is there a solution for this?

If I choose “Quick export as PNG” the colors SHIFT depending on the Windows color profile, which is a custom calibration profile!What…. huh… Nooooooooooo…… In WHICH universe is this what should happen…...After testing I can confirm that good'ol "Save For Web" does NOT do this. We're in the middle of a project and this will be dozens of hours of extra work.And then some.. In this forum, I click "describe your bug" to edit the title AND THE POST VANISHES AND I HAVE TO TYPE IT ALL AGAIN.😭

After the latest update a few days ago I’ve started getting weird issues with my tiff-files. First of all, I save my projects as tiff-files to keep the layers and have better compatibility with all the other photo applications (such as the classic Windows Photo Viewer which I still prefer over other MS viewers).For some reason most of the tiffs now show me this error message instead of the actual photo: That had never happened before. Now out of 8 of my latest photos, I get this for 6 of them. All photos have layers and the sizes are similar (100-200MB). I noticed that if I tick the “Save Image Pyramid” checkbox in the “TIFF Options” menu when saving, the viewer can show the image again. I’ve never had to use that option before and it also increases the file size and makes the saving process take longer.Then issue #2: Saving gets stuck. I click save and see the percentage going up until it freezes at random point. Nothing happens. I tried waiting for 15 minutes but it did not finish. I

When I press Ctrl and + to zoom in it zooms in TWICE instead of once. When I zoom out with Ctrl and - it zooms out TWICE. Never encountered this before - If I wanted to zoom twice I would press the key twice. Any one else having this issue? It seems to be occurring after the recent update. 

In lightroom classic (rel. 15.6) when i choose the option to edit a photo from a raw image that is in the catalog in Photoshop 2026 (rel. 27.10.0), save it and return to lightroom classic, then i can't use the lightroom denoise option in the detail tab.  It gives the error “Denoise is not currently compatible with this photo format.”

Hi everyone,I need to resize several high-resolution photos for website use, but some of them become slightly blurry after resizing and exporting.What is the best Photoshop workflow for reducing image dimensions while keeping the details sharp? I normally export the images as WebP or JPEG. Any recommended settings would be helpful.Thanks!

Ich kann seit heute auf meinem MacBook  aus Photoshop (inkl. Beta)  nicht mehr mit dem normalen Druckbefehl drucken. Der Druck funktioniert nur mit dem Befehl „eine Kopie Drucken“!

Hi! I run a small 24/7 leak detection business in Columbia, TN, and I take photos on job sites — under sinks, around water heaters, in crawl spaces — to document the work for customers and to publish on our company website. The photos often have distracting elements: license plates on vehicles in driveway shots, cluttered backgrounds, house numbers, etc. I want to redact license plates for privacy and clean up the backgrounds so the photos look professional. What's the fastest Photoshop workflow for this kind of cleanup?- For license plates (redaction, not enhancement): is it better to blur/pixelate, or cover with a solid shape?- For removing small background clutter: Remove tool vs. Content-Aware Fill — which is quicker for batches of photos? For reference, the kind of job-site photos I'm working with are the residential shots like the ones on our site:  [Link removed by moderator] Thanks for any tips!

I've just moved over to a new Mac, and I'm finding the behavior of the Photoshop window is not acting like it used to. I'd like to go back to the way it was. I've tried different choices in the settings, but to no avail. I like to use an independent window when I'm working on a file, not tabs (see screenshot). But I'm used to the entire image not scrolling to display the artboard within that window unless I manually resize the window. When the entire image is shown in the window, I don't want to be able to scroll into the artboard. Does that make sense. The screenshot I'm posting shows what I don't want. I'm using Photoshop 2025 on a Mac.

I just upgraded to Photoshop 27.9.1 and the HUD color picker center square is mostly white, with color fading in on the right and bottom of the square. The regular color picker on the tool menu still works fine, but the HUD picker is MESSED UP! Any idea what happened?

I’m making a rotoscope animation through photoshop for class, we had to animate over a video we made. I used one of the class-owned macbooks and it let me embed a video no problem, now I’m trying to finish it as homework and I’m using my windows laptop, it said it couldn’t find the video I had embedded so I tried re-adding it and all it does is say “Could not complete your request as the footage is not a recognised format”. It’s an MP4, I tried converting it to an AVI and that didn’t work either. I have no idea what to do? Everything is updated, it just really doesn’t want to embed the video.
