I'm using Acrobat Pro on a MacBook Pro.I have a file that I frequently open, edit, print and then close without saving. However, when I made the switch from a PC to a MacBook I noticed immediately that there was an issue. When I click "Don't Save" it will save my changes anyway. This has forced me to undo all of my edits back to the original state and then close the document so that it doesn't overwrite my original. I have contacted support multiple times but for some reason it NEVER behaves this way while they are watching. I went through everything with them yesterday, couldn't replicate the issue and then today its right back to being a problem. I'm beyond frustrated with this issue and I don't even know where to begin troubleshooting it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, I am experiencing an issue where comments disappear during the conversion from PDF to PDF/A format.After testing, I noticed that comments remain intact after the conversion if they are locked.My question is: Is there a way to automatically lock comments? Is there a setting for this in the preferences?

I encourage others to share your experiences in remediating PDFs for ISO 14289 (PDF/UA) compliance. Let’s learn from each other’s experiences.   I am working with documents that previously passed the Acrobat checker and PAC 1.3 along with manual checks for WCAG 2.0 compliance – so, the documents were as accessible as I knew how to make them. Below are the errors that I am seeing quite a bit from the new PAC2 PDF/UA-compliance checker. The “fix” is not necessarily the best, just what I have found that seems to work. I have AI turned off completely, becuase why in the great green **** would I want AI in Acrobat? (Or pretty much anywhere else, but I digress.)The same banner pops up for me every time, telling me that a 4-page PDF of mostly images and diagrams is "long" and needs a summary.  Please help me disable this garbage.

I wonder when Adobe will update Acrobat so you can select text like every other program out there... By this I mean double clicking a word, and holding down on the second click, and then dragging which will highlight word-by-word. This is a universal way of selecting text, but Adobe doesn't have it for Acrobat. Odd. 

Hello, I am trying to resolve an issue with an end user of mine where they attempt to print to pdf on one of their solidwork drawings. When they try to print to pdf, it will freeze, and get stuck trying to create the pdf of the Solidworks part. I tried a full uninstall, and reinstall of Adobe which didn't work as the same issue would come back after a day. I made sure to update to the latest version of 2025 Adobe acrobat pro, but now we are having issues where the pdf refuses to save and doesn't generate a file.  Solidworks support tried to look into it but they couldn't figure it out from the solidworks side of things.

Hi, i started a free trial and canceled it within a few days. Now Adobe keeps billing me even though I canceled the free trial. I'm not even subscribed anywhere however your app says I am. I don't use the app.When I sign in on the desktop, it says you'll be able to manage your plan shortly and nothing ever happens. Which is stupid because you are billing me for a service I'm not even subscribed to and i cannot delete the account because i have to cancel this non existing plan first, better yet there are no direct contact messages only where I have to post to a community and complain publicly. Cancel the account.

Getting these messages when trying to print an Excel doc to Adobe PDF.After hitting file>print and having Adobe PDF as the selected device these populate. Saving as pdf and printing to microsoft pdf work. Any ideas?  

I encounter all kinds of problems using accessibility functions in adobe acrobat, maybe because the pdf is generated by latex. First, when I use automatically tag PDF, it adds lots of brackets on the formulas, as shown in the first picture. When I try to mannually label figures using the Fix reading order function, the position of the figure changed after I click figure, as shown in the difference between picture 2 and 3. What leads to these wired changes? How to solve that?

How can the Floating Toolbar be hidden?  Looked through some previous posts, but suspect they reference earlier versions of Acrobat DC because the settings options shown are not the same. 

Suddenly I have problem where my PDFs created in Acrobat Pro X 10.1.6 are a very low, unacceptable resolution. It doesn't matter if I am starting with high-resolution Photoshop tiffs, Quark layout file set at 300dpi output, or a Word docx.Please help! Thank you.

I did a clean and full install yesterday. I still get this error evertime I open a PDF. Any clues? Any idea how to tell Adobe. This is getting old.... 

Hello, I am in the IT department at my company and we decided to streamline our computers with less software, so we removed Adobe Reader from our image an rely solely on Edge PDF viewer with the Adobe extension for extra features.  Within the past couple weeks, we noticed we can no longer see the Adobe extension features when opening local PDF files. We have the settings boxes checked to Open PDFs with the extesion and to "Allow access to file URLs" within the extension settings. Not sure if this is a bug or a direction that Adobe is going with their Extension. It does specifically say in the details of the extension that there is "Support for opening local PDF files in extension."  We have tested this extensively on domain joined computers and non-domain joined computers. Please let me know if any one else has had this issue or if there is a fix coming in the next version of the Extension.

I work in a university and need to remove student identifying information from some signed documents. The reason for this is that we are reaffirming our accreditation, and the accrediting body requires real samples of these documents with the student's identifying information redacted. From reading other posts, it appears that Adobe doesn't allow redaction on signed documents. While in theory I understand that signed documents shouldn't be edited, there are times when one needs to remove from" VIEW" information on a signed document to protect someone. I have attempted to accomplish this by highlighting the student's identifying information in black. However, I got a warning stating that the information blacked out could still be revealed by changing the document properties.  How can I protect the student information if I can't use the redact tool on a signed document?

Trying to manage settings in AdobeSign. Our service level is an "adobe for teams" subscription for Adobe Acrobat Pro which includes the Acrobat Sign service.I have been made an Adobe Acrobat Account Admin. I go to e-sign settings and there is no "global settings" option.I would like to disable the setting that Merges signed documents.

Save the document under a different name or in a different folder.The file is not read-only, nor has it been used by any other user. The file is located locally on my PC.Thank you.

I am trying to edit a PDF in Adobe Acrobat Standard. The PDF comes in as an image. I do the scan & OCR, it finds all the text on the PDF, but when I click on Edit a PDF I keep getthing this message. "Acrobat has detected that this page doesn't have editable text. If it is a scanned paghe, conver it to another formate using the Export PDF tool." But the PDF is not a scanned image.The other thing I noticed is in the Edit a PDF section in the gear icon, there is a check box for reconignze scanned text, but it is grayed out. I also tried running the scan & ORC saving the PFD and re-opening it in Adobe but I still can't edit any of the text. The PDF still appears as one large image.

Hello, I want to create a search box on PDF where a keycode is typed on a text box and a relevant info is displayed on another box. I have previously achieved this using a script supplied from this thread but it turns out scripts aren't fully supported on mobile devices. Is there another way for me to achieve this without using scripts? So a user enters a code on a text box i.e. 'Fruit'Then the other text box will be pre-populated with the relevant info i.e. 'Apple' TIA

I try and log in with my account here on my student email and I get the message for adobe acrobat (the free version) You do not have access to this service. Contact your IT administrator to gain access. The problem is I have now went to IT and they have no idea what I am talking about. I have been using adobe acrobat for a few months now for free and now all of a sudden I cannot log in nor retrieve my annotated files. This is very frustrating and I have to keep taking time away from my work to figure out whats wrong with this application every few days.
