I'm running the latest version of Acrobat on Mac Sequoia.  The problem arises when I OCR a document. I choose Scan & OCR > Recognize text > In this file.While Acrobat is busily OCRing the document there are two issues.First, when I am using other programs while Acrobat is OCRing, every so often Acrobat will suddenly become the top window even though I haven't touched it.Second, once Acrobat starts OCRing the document I can't "hide" Acrobat.  Right-clicking on the icon in the dock then selecting "hide" does nothing.  I can't use click "Acrobat > Hide" in the tool bar at the top because this does nothing.  All I get is the watch icon where the mouse pointed should be.Any ideas to deal with this annoying problem?

Could you tell me when Adobe plans to remove the option to disable Sandbox mode in Acrobat for Mac /Windows? I’ve seen announcements that the mode may become mandatory in a future release, but I’ve not been able to find a specific effective date.

Hi - I'm thinking about an Creative Cloud All Apps subscription, but I will need to the Acrobat Premium features on mobile (Android), such as compression, editing, and organizing pages. Are the Acrobat Premium features for mobile devices included in the CC All Apps subscription? (I'm not interested in desktop features). Thanks.

I am working with Acrobat Pro since the very, VERY early days. Instead of improving the app it is getting worse with every update. Here is my current bug/missing feature list:  Does not list last open files correctly on splash screenDoes not list last used folders on save screen. I still did not find a way to switch off the new save screen. Editing tools are reduced – Using Creative Cloud I do NOT want to use Adobe Express. The app is overall sluggish, slow and unreliableGenerating and editing forms in Acrobat is terrible, slow, buggy, sluggish and not intuitive, yet complicated.Text tools are reduced and limited in the current version. E.g. in former versions the line height when filling forms could be adjusted – not anymore.The recognition of form fields in scanned documents does not function anymore reliable. I am so tired of how Adobe has turned to the subscription format of business. No, no one wants to purchase some useless subscription! We want to pay you a fair price for some software that is usable for several years. It's not too much to ask. The most alarming practice that I am aware of is when using acrobat and having to sign or fill out a form. Then you realize something is misspelled or you need to change something and the software won't allow you to do so unless you have the subscription. It's gotten to the point where I just print out the blank form and do it by hand. Acrobat used to be amazing, user friendly, software but now it suffers from the rot of company greed. I encourage everyone I know to stop using Acrobat. The rot is very pervasive and as people turn to other software that is not infected by subscription fever Adobe will implode. I have a 33 page pdf which has ~2500 instances of the word "XYZ". I want to replace all XYZ with ABC. How can I do that? I am using Acrobat 11 pro.

The new comment features are horrendous to use. Does anyone at Adobe test the usability of these features?The speed of using Acrobat is horrendously slow. How is it that the company that invented PDF format appears to be the worst at handling them? Do better. I don't care about AI features, focus on getting the core features right first.

Why? Why do you "creators" feel a need to completely change the layout of toolbars, etc. in a program?! Do you have nothing to do so you just search out what you can do to aggravate us? Adobe Acrobat DC is now TOTALLY different in the toolbar layouts! WHY???

We are a state agency in charge of animal health. When cattle, for example, move from our state to another, it requires a certificate of veterinarian inspection (has info about the animals, where they are moving, and their health). Years ago an electronic health certificate was created by a sort of collaboration between states using LiveCycle. We use LiveCycle to customize a few things for each state and we enable usage rights in Acrobat Pro so veterinarians and their clinic's that fill out user agreement forms (not to distribute form, etc) can use Reader for free to fill out, sign, and email us these electronic certificates. Right now less than half the states use this form (most state agencies still push paper). I am trying to get more states to use this electronic certificate of veterinarian inspection. Hi, I have two fields in my script. The source field is EVPI which is a user input with auto formatting applied and the resulting event field where this custom script is entered. All of the basic conditional arithmetic is working.When the source field is empty, the result field is supposed to be empty as well and allow for user input. However, the result field is always filled with the minimum value called in the script despite other conditionals trying to create the event value as empty. Hi everyone, I’m using Adobe Acrobat Pro (2026) on Windows 11, and I’m seeing inconsistent spelling‑check behavior in the new Acrobat interface.While in Edit PDF mode, inside an active text box, Acrobat did underline a misspelled word in red the other day, and it even did so earlier today. However, after closing and reopening the same file, the misspelled word is no longer underlined.If I type inside the text box, the misspelled word does get a red underline, but only while I’m actively typing. Once I click out of the text box or reopen the file, the underline disappears. Previously, Acrobat showed the red underline without requiring me to type a word in the text box.I understand that Acrobat’s spell check is primarily intended for Comments, but I believed that while editing text in Edit PDF, Acrobat would still flag misspellings with a red underline. Hello,My Adobe account contains five perpetual Adobe Acrobat Standard 12.0 licenses and four perpetual Adobe Acrobat Standard 11.0 licenses.The computers on which these licenses were activated were formatted by a colleague before the licenses could be deactivated, making it impossible to deactivate them beforehand.I am now installing these licenses on new computers, but I am receiving a message stating that the license is already in use on another device.I understand that these products are no longer supported. However, I am not requesting technical support for the software itself. I am simply requesting that the existing activation records for these perpetual licenses be cleared so that I can reactivate them on my new computers.Since the activation servers are still able to verify that these licenses have reached their activation limit, I kindly ask that the current activations associated with these licenses be reset (removed) so that I can continue using the software I legally purcha

I have a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud. It automatically installs Adobe PDFMaker Macro, along with other Adobe add-ins, to my Microsoft 365 [Office] applications on my Windows 11 PC and on my MacBook Pro. I don’t want these installed. I know the correct manual routines for exporting PDFs from my Microsoft applications. And your add-ins occasionally fail and cause the Microsoft apps to crash. They also share information about my computing habits with Adobe.Had extensive conversations with Microsoft about this.  Bottom line: “Take it up with Adobe.”There seems to be no way on my Office 365 desktop apps  to remove the add-ins. There IS a temporary way to remove them from Office 365 desktop apps on Windows, [Run as Administrator, and in each app choose File>Options>Add-Ins>Manage COM Add-ins]. But after I shut down my PC for the day, next time I open Word, PowerPoint, Excel or Outlook Classic, the add-ins get restored. They take up valuable screen real estate in the Ribbons

The quick print function for emails in Outlook does not work reliably with Adobe Acrobat; PDF attachments are sometimes skipped during printing. The issue is not consistently reproducible and occurs sporadically. The default printer is set correctly, and both Adobe and the drivers are up to date. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Please give me their address, as we need to talk.  I'm ready to truly move to a different product because I use Acrobat every day but with my 75-hour/week full-time real job, I don't have time to re-learn how to find every single feature I used yesterday with ease.  Even if I did, I DETEST the new UI.  Like 100% seriously DETEST it.  Things that used to be easily accessible are now buried in menus that are even hard to find.  This version feels like I moved from Adobe to some completely different product and might be the final straw.  This btw is yet another reason I despise SaaS.  I don't want radical software changes rolled out whenever it strikes the fancy of the manufacturer.  I want to be able to do what I need to do in a stable, consistent software.  I want to maintain my muscle memory.   When I'm missing new features I think I might want, I want to research my options and purchase a software that gives me the options I want.

Hi everyone,I'm new to the Adobe Community and also fairly new to using Adobe Acrobat.I've noticed that Acrobat sometimes uses a lot of RAM, especially when I have multiple PDF files open. Is this normal, or are there any settings I can change to make it use fewer system resources?I'd appreciate any tips or best practices. Thanks in advance for your help!

More precise, how do i disable the “top bar” that pops up for every pdf file i open. It says “This document appears to be in a different language. Would you like to translate it to English using Adobe Express?”. Acrobat is installed in English and the documents i open is written in Swedish so this pops up for every document i open. I have looked in the Preferences but have not found anything. Any solution? :)

There has to be an answer somewhere for this issue. In settings->Commenting there is supposed to be the Auto detect pen hardware setting, but on my surface it is missing.  How do I get it back. I know its missing because its there on two other Surface Pro 6 computers and a lenovo mix, all running the same versions of windows 10 and all running the same version of Acrobat including the patch level. On this surface using the pen in Acrobat is quite horrible.  No issues using the pen in word and other apps though. Please somebody help. Bruce

Hello everyone. I need to sanitize a big file, 26k pages. I found out that my pc cannot handle it, so I tried to divide into small files of 10 pages and using guided action to sanitize every document in the new folder.The problem is this:every time Adobe sanitizes a new document it gives me a choice to save the file somewhere.Is there a way to fully automize this thing???I cannot sanitize heavier documents otherwise for some reason Adobe crashes. Help would be appreciated a lot.

Acrobat is yet again not retaining checkmarks as I check off comments.I work on gazillion-page government documents, so filtering out checked comments is absolutely vital.Why does this keep happening, and is there any way to make my comment checkmarks stay put? (Interestingly, I see similar posts going back 9 years…)
