Some stupid website I use regularly forced me to "update" my Reader to Adobe Reader DC, but I have a fully licensed full version of Adobe Acrobat X Pro. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find any place to reset my default for opening PDF files back to Adobe Acrobat X Pro. When I go into Windows 10 settings and select Pro as the default instead of Reader DC, it does not change the icon, nor does it change the default action. I cannot uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader DC because of websites I use that require it (unless you know of some way to trick them into beliving X Pro is OK), but I can't stand having PDF's opened with the Reader by default, and then I can't do anything with them, so need to manually open them from within X Pro. Any ideas or solutions would be a HUGE help. Thanks in advance for any help!!

New install of Acrobat on new Win11 machine has a highly annoying "feature".   Older version for adding a shape (circle, square, etc.) selected from within the Comment group, which we use frequently to mark up pdf images, drawings, etc.  You'd select the shape type, create the shape on the page, and that action would end.  You could go on to highlight text, or do some other different action.NOW however, the shape creator remains active, so that any and every click on the page starts another instance of that shape.  You have to MANUALLY select the pointer in order to turn off shape creation.  Its VERY annoying and repetitive.Is there a way to force a "one-and-done" instance when adding shapes to a document?

Has this issue been resolved? I receive this error multiple times when opening a pdf.I've uninstalled Acrobat, reinstalled it, and kept my software up to date to rule out any issues that could arise from typical errors.I have tried going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\ and locate AdobeCollabSync.exeRight-click > Properties > Compatibility > checked the box run this program in compatibility mode for and selected Win7 from the list. Then clicked Apply OK, and rebooted the machine. I also made it so that the compatibility mode would affect all users. That didnt fix the issue. The only way that I have been able to workaround the issue is to:a) Close Acrobat.b) Open the Windows Task Manager's Details pane by pressing CTL+ALT+ Delete and selecting task manager. Confirm that the Processes tab is selected. Find AdobeCollabSync in the process list. Click to highlight and right click to end or stop the process. c) Then in C:\Program Files (x8

Hello,If I want to find a specific text I would use CTRL+F.  If there are multiple results I would click on the arrow poiting right (>) until I get to the last result.  If I click again a pop up appears saying "Adobe Acrobat has finished searching the document.  No more matches were found."  How can I disable this pop up?  It's annoying to constantly have to close it.  I want Adobe to loop back to the first result if I click the arrow while on the last result.  For example, if there are 3 incidences of a specific text, I can click the arrow and show 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3.  At 3/3 (the third result) I want it to go back to result 1/3 (instead of having a pop up).  

I have created a form that contains dropdown lists. I need several of the dropdown lists to offer a secondary dropdown list based on the original chopice. Basically, when a user chooses a department (all the departments will be listed), the secondary dropdown list allows the user to choose a job title (all of the job titles in that department) Example:Information Technology     IT Manager     IT Specialist     IT TechHuman Resources     HR Manager     HR Assistant I would very much appreciate any suggestions!Thank you,Dawn       

I have the above version of Acrobat instlled on my Mac with OS Sequoia 15.1.1It will not print any PDF that it opens.  I get a message I can print the pdf if I open it in Word.I have printed from Acrobat in the past but it has stopped.Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated.  Trying to call or reach live chat for assistance from Adobe seems impossible.

Currently have a file that has a 'calculation'. so the customer imputs a few numbers and at the end there a 'total savings'. My issue is that the 'total savings' is 2 fields subtracted from eachother + $15. so: (field 1 - field 2)+15. When the form is completly blank with no other numbers, the field is defaulting to show $15. Any way I can remove this so the calculation doesnt work unless the rest is filled out?

When Acrobat Pro DC is started now since the newer builds are released it adds what appear to be intermediate "content certificates" 10-3 through 10-6 to the personal certificate store (user) which completely breaks other apps using a client authentication certificate in that same store. Once I remove these certificates it all works again. How do I stop these intermediate certificates from populating to this incorrect personal store location so my business applications stop breaking constantly??

I have Acrobat 4 along with Acrobat 5 Upgrade, Acrobat 7 Pro Upgrade and Acrobat 9 Pro Upgrade (original packages with serial numbers and all registered to me).  The computer that I had them all installed / upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro crashed, so I'm trying to install / upgrade from scratch on my Windows 10 system. I've been able to install Acrobat 5 and apply the serial number from Acrobat 4 to activate it.  I've installed the Acrobat 7 Pro upgrade successfully, but can't activate it because both the internet and phone activation options are no longer supported so I am unable to retrieve an Authorization Code.  Once it has been activated, I would then apply the Acrobat Pro 9 Upgrade (but expect that to also rely on the activation options that are no longer available). Any suggestions that don't require buying a new copy? On another note, I tried to register my installed version of Acrobat 5 but the system said that it was already registered.  When I tr

I need to change the background color of a text field in a fillable pdf. I'm editing the form in Acrobat, and when I try to set the color for the field, it brings up color palettes, but there isn't a way to apply the color to the field. A screenshot is attached. How can I actually select the color to apply it to the text field? 

I recently downloaded the new Acrobat Version because I hoped I can get a glimpse of the new AI features (sadly not available). What I “discovered” instead is the new Acrobat design. Redesigns can be a good thing and I understand why a company needs to work on a new look from time to time. But WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE MIRRORED? Bookmarks were always on the left, tools on the right – why was this reversed? What is the advantage of this, other than “change I think it's not hard to understand that you get used to certain tools. And you want to work quickly. I see no advantage in turning everything around now – except for disrupting people's habits. It's easy to go back to the old version/view (with a little searching). Leave at least this feature so that you don't have to look at the new view. And put more effort into useful features instead of doing cosmetic work that nobody needs and that generates unnecessary work. Thank you.

I open PDFs all day in Acrobat Pro DC and I change every one from "fit to width scrolling" to "fit one full page" using the button in the toolbar.Two questions:1. Can I make "fit one full page" the default option?2. Failing that, can I do it with a keyboard shortcut?

I'm grateful to have this fixed but hope to help anyone else save some of their lives.I've spent at least 5 hours with a chat and 3 different live technicians to reload and check and reload and check and........to fix this.As it turns out, at some point I had inadvertantly slid the line thickness dot over to the far left, .  For some reason all the other tools continue to work with the thinest line thickness on that setting but on the the cloud tool it reults in a Bad Parameter message.Just FYI

I need to add 2 live URLs to a PDF doc for email/text messaging, FB too?I found an Adobe how to that says "Choose tools > EDIT PDF > Link > Add or Edit"But I don't see any of that under Tools. And ther is "edit a PDF" but not EDIT PDF. Obviously I don't do much in Acrobat. I just want to add 2 live links to a doc. Can't belive it's so non intuitive -? Thanks for any help on this

The password is correct, mac Preview shows the contents with the correct password.Acrobat Pro keeps telling me, the password is wrong (even with copy-pasting it).Clearly an Acrobat bug.I want my money back.

Is it possible to create a set of joboptions for Distiller that will always produce a greyscale PDF?

I open two documents, when I select COMPARE, I get an error message:  "These documents have security settings which prevent comparison.  Please modify security settings to allow editing and try again."  I go to SECURITY SETTING for each document, they both say "No Security" .  Any one have a suggestion?Thanks

Does Adobe Acrobat have limit on the number of security policies you can create?  Is there any way to automate adding security policies, or export and import like with Action files?

I belong to an organization that sends several emails per month with pdf files attached. This creates a lot of work for the recipient to open each one to read it. As an Adobe subscriber myself, I have in the past, simply merged several pdf's into a single pdf make life easier for all concerned. The subscription service is too costly for the organization and I wonder about these older versions (2020) of Adobe Acrobat, that can be purchased. Albeit an older version, the functionality will work for their needs. Is this a reasonable alternative to the Adobe subscription service? Bob

The way Adobe works these days there is no way to distinguish between these installations. They are all marked exactly the same everywhere and only in About can you see the difference.I can use a file, a reg key, a WMI record, anything to distinguish but I find absolutely no differences. Does anyone know of a sure way to do this?

Hallo zusammen, nach einer Neuinstallation von Adobe (nach PC Problemen) kann ich über die App auf dem PC keine E-Signatur mehr anfordern. Dies geht nur noch online im Webbrowser. Adobe Sign ist in meinem Abo aber enthalten. Wie kann das Problem behoben werden? Danke für eure Hilfe. Gruß Julian
