Originally my project was requested to use the glossary hotspots for all our glossary terms. As it stands now though we have so many glossary terms, our topics look like swiss cheese. We are looking to remove all the hotspots from the document but keep the glossary if possible. We are fine with removing the terms from the glossary and adding them back, but want to find a solid solution for the removal of the hotspots. Thank you in advance

Today I opened an existing .xpj file and added two topics. I saved all changes. However, once I published the .xpj using WebHelp_Pro (Primary Layout) the HTML file and viewer does not display the new topics. Also, although i have edited the .xpj file, and was able to save all, the date of last update is displaying when it was originally created (not the current date that it was edited).Please helpThanks

I have a Word document that my Marketing department gave me, which was adjusted with a few things to make the output Word/PDF document prettier.I expected it to just work, honestly... but when I used it as a template, I can plainly see that only the document's styles are used, none of the actual contents.I found a way to insert the 2 header pages, thankfully, so at least I got that going for me.However, the document I was provided has a Header and Footer (the ones you get when double-clicking at the top or bottom of a page). Is there a way to reproduce this easily or do I have to use a master page and some CSS and absolute positioning?

Adobe has not been able to resolve our company's connection problem with SharePoint thus far.We do know that we can use TFS 2008 with RoboHelp because they have done that in the past.  We are on RH11.We need to know...Has anyone experienced any problems with using TFS 2008 with RH11?  If so, what kind of problem(s)?

Hi all , I would like the customers who need to search in the help could perform their research in a page especially dedicated to this. I think the Research tool in the toolbar is not satisfactory to my standards -> lack of spaces for the answers, poor ergonomics ... So, here is what i would like to do: - The customer clicks on a link from any page of the documentation, - it opens a new page - this page contains the search engine that allows to search in a visual environment specially dedicated to that.I wonder if this is possible and if so how. I can't plan a working method to achieve this solution.For the moment, I am working on a single robohelp project and perhaps in the future with multiples robohelp projects merged. Hi all, is there a way to add a custom header and footer above and below the actual HTML5 help (containing a few paragraphs of text)? Where in the template slp pages would these need to be placed?

I have a Robohelp 11 HTML project which uses merged CHM files. I have a help build script which compiles this project using the RH command-line utility. Whenever this runs, RH overwrites the names of the merged CHM files in the .hhp file to use absolute paths (even if the .hhp file is read-only!). I've searched Adobe forums and this appears to be a RH bug. In my case, it doesn't stop the project performing the merge, but it looks like it causes problems when searching the resultant parent CHM (topics matching the search simply don't show up in child projects), as the search cannot necessarily find the merged files referenced in the .hhp when someone performs the search on a different machine. I notice that if I compile via the RH UI, the .hhp entries are not overwritten. So, a workaround is to do the build manually. However, we'd like to automate our help build. Is there any way to prevent the command-line compiler overwriting the merge file entries in the .hhp?

Hello, Is there a way to sync the page numbers to the actual generated PDF pages if I search for a specific page number? For example, if I search or type 52 on the PDF, it takes me to page 42 NOT to page 52. If I type 'v' as the page number , PDF doesn't recognize it.Appreciate your help, thanks!

So... Hi all,Somehow I have linked the same image to all my glossary terms.When I delete the image, the topic simply displayed a space with a cross (indicating the image can't be displayed).Same thing happens with new glossary terms

In RoboHelp 11 Responsive HTML5, is it possible to have 2 different language outputs in one generated output file, similar to WebHelp where the use can select the language from a drop-down list? In Webhelp output you could create multiple Content categories. Is there something similar with the responsive output, or am I forced to have a completely separate set of output files for each language (for example, English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic)?

Okay, folks, I need some help. I've worked with developers at two different employers, and each time I give them the CSH APIs and Instructions for Developers, they look at me strangely and ask why they can't just call the correct topic for each context. I understand that there are some functions, like calling a named window in webhelp, that wouldn't work because they are not using the API. However, I'm using the new, awesome responsive HTML5 output for my current project. According to WvanWeelden (http://www.wvanweelden.eu/articles/context-sensitivity-multiscreenresponsive-html5), it doesn't matter with responsive HTML5 since you're not using specific screen layouts. Is there any other functionality that I should be concerned about eliminating if we choose to call specific topics within the application instead of using the CSH API? I know that I shouldn't change my topic name (URL) unless I want dev to have to make the change within the application. Anything else?Thanks, in advance, fo

Hello Robohelp mavens! My environment:  Win7, FM v10, Robohelp v9. (TCS v3)I've linked an FM book (containing 90 files) to a blank Robohelp project. Whenever I try to generate Webhelp, Robohelp crashes at some point.As part of debugging, I clean the FM book (removed unused Pgf/char formats, conditions, etc.). That did not help. Any idea why Robohelp gives up in the middle?Any input is highly appreciated!My best regards,Roman

HiWe are customizing Theme1_Standard screen layout for our requirement. Here, blank space after the sidebar buttons (ToC, Glossary, and Search) buttons look a bit odd in the mobile layout. How and where should I change the settings to be evenly space out these buttons against the background or align ToC to left, Glossary to center, and Search to right?Thanks in advance.Sreekanth

Hi,I am facing a couple of problems with a Robohelp 8 generated webhelp when I open it in IPad Safari. Firstly, once I have opened a pop-up window, I am not being able to close the window.Secondly, there is a lot of empty, blank space, after the information in the pop-up window. How can these issues be resolved.Any help is much appreciated.Thanks.

I have created a webhelp using Robohelp 8, however, in the IPad Safari browser, the *Cross Icon* on top of the TOC panel, is not being displayed clearly, as in, a part of the icon is hidden. How can this issue be resolved? Help!

I have RH7 and trying to generate Printed Documentation in Word. Each time I generate, I receive the following message.A supported version of Microsoft Word does not exist. I need to store images in a folder structure that is used by another application. Therefore, I need to remove or rename the images folder, as I will never use it. Can this be done?I'm using RoboHelp 11.0.1.235 on Windows 8Thanks!Carol

Right now my RoboHelp files are saved to on a network drive and backed up nightly. However, is there a way I can manually backup the files? Is there also a way to version the backups by date?Thank you.

I wanted to import a series of HTML files exported/saved from Excel to a project.This is demonstration purposes, to test migration approaches for content from Word and Excel to a SharePoint environment.After importing the 36 HTML files to my project, RH gets really slow.It takes 15-20 seconds to open any of the files for editing. I see that the HTML from Excel has the content is in tables, and some Javascript.Are the tables themselves part of the issue?any suggestions?tiaJay

I'm on RH11, and I have all of my files in SharePoint.  I can go into RH11 and open SharePoint files inside RH11, and I can go into SharePoint and get files to open in RH11.  In RH11, I do File > Version Control.  The Connection Details window opens.  Every possible path our company has to our RH SharePoint site has failed.How do I get this to work?  I also set up the Options under the Tools menu and installed WinMerge on my C:\ drive.I wonder if WinMerge needs to be in any particular place.  I can't get WinMerge to install on our network because of constant "Move File failed.  Code 222." messages.  I clicked to ignore those, then couldn't get the program to run.

When I click on an existing hyperlink and launch the Hyperlink dialog, I can make whatever changes I want, but I can't save the changes.  When I click "Ok" I get an error beep.  The only way to get of the dialog is the press Cancel and the only way to modify the hyperlink is to do it manually in the HTML view, which I have other problems with (the spacing is odd so I can't see all the characters around the cursor.  It's pretty miserable.)What's going on?I thought maybe it was something related to not checking out all the files for the directory, maybe something associated with the files wasn't writeable, but most recently I decided to test it by checking out all the files, recursively, and it still didn't work.Thoughts?-m

Running 11.0.3.268.I am testing the Responsive layout. In my test project, the TOC, Index, and Search tabs are all functional, but when I click the Glossary tab, I get the IE "This page can't be displayed" message. The path listed on this page is:C:\My_Stuff\Docs\Help Output\ResponsiveHTML5\ProfitX\template\PROFITX_2\glossary1.htmI can see, however, that the glossary file is actually located at:C:\My_Stuff\Docs\Help Output\ResponsiveHTML5\ProfitX\glossary.htmCan anyone tell me where can I adjust my settings so that the generated project will be able to find the glossary file?Thanks!
