Version of the app: 3.4.0Windows 11 Hi!I ve just stumbled accros a problem (likely a bug) while using the perforate filter. So, everything work fine while using the perforate filter as shown in the image below: But, Once I add a Floor tiles filter over it, the pattern is ajusted to the foor tiles but the hole pattern is kept the same as shown in the image below (Floor tiles filter has the material scale set to 4 and the rotation mode set to randomized): Is this is a Bug or do I have to change some settings? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I've been attempting to follow the Substance 3D Sampler First Steps: Embroidery & Weaves tutorial to create an embroidered patch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdjKy6JlQRs, and I've ran into a problem where the embroidery filter and a fabric material that I've added are coming in at an extremely large scale. I've tried using different pngs at different resolutions, changing the embroidery scale, the thread size of the embroidery, and a few other things. I'm also using a clean install of 3.41 and have not changed any settings. My process is the same as the video, create a new project>drop png into the layers panel (use as bitmap)>add an embroidery filter above the png layer. Below is an example of the embroidery and denim fabric scale. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can pan the object only, so the middle mouse button just rotates the object and doesn't center the material sphere in the view. The sphere with my b2m material is pinned to the top right corner of the viewport. I'm on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and I just installed substance sampler today.
Hi Guys, I have a photo of a small floor sample I would like to use as a material in a 3d model. How can I use 3D sampler/photoshop to create a material with enough variations of the sample to not look like it is just a repeating photograph. The sample photo looks like this. Thanks for your help.
Hi,Created an embriodery, exporting as Sbsar file to CLO but trying to figure it out how can i change the color in CLO. Tried different filters like color variation and colorize but when i export and open in CLO, it doesnt give me the option to change the color.Any advice how i can achive this?Thank you!
Hi community,i plan to create videos using 3D models. I want to convert images to 3D models of i things i already own, like a graphicscard. I dont want to buy 3D models on mysterious websites. My plan is to highlight them like letting them float around, turn, letting fall or other things i cant do with normal equipment. So how easy is it to create a 3d model out of images?I didnt find any tutorials or videos regarding my plans. If this can be easily done i am willing to subscribe to Adobes Creative Cloud.
So I am trying to use custom masking for blending in Sampler, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong? The option to either paint or import is not there, what do I do? Thanks!
Hi Substance 🙂 I just started a trial for the Substance Suite and look forward to learning these tools.I have some issues that are hampering my training though... 1. Can you replace the .rar file with a zip file? (See Screenshot)2. Can you make public the video highlighted (See Screenshot) This if the referring url, https://substance3d.adobe.com/tutorials/courses/First-Steps-with-Substance-3D-Sampler/youtube-mdjKy6JlQRs
When will AI version of Image to Material in Substance Sampler be available for M series Macs?
Good morning, We're currently evaluating how to integrate some of our tools in Substance Sampler and I had a few questions about how best to package and distribute plugins. Is there a way to update the application Python search path? I noticed the application accepts command-line args to run a script or a configuration file. Is there any documention or examples of a configuartion file? Thanks for your time!
I brought in textures files into sampler and expected to be able to export a painter material. What I got was a material with just a normal channel. The files I used are a color map, height, and roughness. I tried with importing PNG and TGA. I get the same result on export. As you see I have color, normal, height, and roughness selected as export in painter format. When I open it in painter I get: a material with just a normal channel ???
Hi, I have created seamless brickwork textures previously using clay, surface relief and brickwall layers. However, I want to use a brickwork image from a supplier to form a seamless texture. I'm running into issues as the individual bricks are multi coloured and textured and I can't close the seams. My current work flow is image to material, crop, perspective transform, tiling, colour variation, equalize. I have attached the brickwork image I am using. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Jonny
Hi folks, I'm having a problem when exporting to jpegs from Sampler. The exported jpegs are very compressed and lose a lot of detail. (I'm currently working with wood grains)This happens going to 2k or 4k. Other formats export correctly. Using default preset but tried a few others with same result. I'm pretty new to the Substance apps so I might be missing something. Any ideas?thanks
HiI can't create a grid of threads like in the photo. They look flat and gray. If I work with the Weave function, the black color appears. I will add screenshots. And an additional image of the graphics I'm working with. Please help to make a net with white threads)
Hello there, I created a custom repeat pattern in PS and followed this YT tutorial to create my own custom print in SA:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9ep1yIwzAY&t=3sWhen I was happy with the print, I selected the share button and then sent my pattern to substance painter to texture my mesh with it but for some reason when my pattern shows up in substance the only thing that shows up is the base fabric and not the print that I designed ontop.Am I possibly doing something wrong? I'm very new to Substance so any tips you have are much appreaicted. This tutorial doesn't do a great job of explianing how to get the texture I see in SA into PT.Also, how do I make it so that my custom material's base color can be changed to any color?
I am making a material for Froot Loops in Designer and want to build an atlas of all the pieces of cereal to best create the splatter of different colored loops. I've made a handful of froot loops and am now planning for making the atlas in Sampler, but the inability to transform individual materials/stop materials from tiling is making it nearly impossible. I was going to just create a custom mask for each loop and then use that in conjuction with an atlas splatter to spread them out, but I'm tyring to find a more efficient way. My current plan is to use a custom filter to transform the shape and stop it's tiling, but I can't get the mat to stack on my custom filter the same way it does on Atlas splatter. Anyone know how to fix this/if there is a simpler way?
how do I import a .jpg file to SA and convert it to an .stl
Hello! I'm excited to share a new update to Substance Sampler. You can now expose paramerters directly in Sampler to create a procedural driven material. Check out the release notes
Hi, for PBR materials in Unigine I need to generate a four cannel Shading map which is a combined metalness, roughness, specular and microfiber texture. Is there an export preset available? I could generate this map in other software but would prefer to do it in Sampler.
Is there a way to get a height map from substance sampler that won't have banding artifacts when using it in zbrush?Saving the bitmap in any format didn't work, also tried to convert it to 32bit inside substance disgner and affinity photo but no luck, however inside sampler it works just fine
Hi, I have the Educator version of Creative Cloud but Substance 3D sampler is only a trial. How long does the trial last please? Will it be long enough to learn and introduce to a class?
I know it's not that hard to create basic and decent PBR materials from quality images. I'm curious if anyone has experience extracting the depth map from Apple's LiDAR tech in their newer phones for use in Substance? I will be getting physical samples of rugs that I will be adding to archvis-style 3D rooms instead of traditional photography. I have recently tried dropping a detail rug sample into Adobe Substance 3D Sampler and it did a decent job of giving me a Bump and Normal map. (See image).Just looking for options to increase the realism and wondered if the new tech might be useful. Thanks.
I am trying to launch Sampler for the first time on my laptop but it wont load properly. The app is stuck in the view shown by the screenshot. Can someone please help?
I am trying to create a soft open cell charcoal foam that is pretty similar to the Eggcrate Acoustic Foam Panel in Substance Source. I am happy with the color and the look of it but I can't figure out how to create rough edges. It renders like a hard edge block. Is there a filter or a technique I can use when creating my material in Adobe Substance 3D Sampler that will achive this? I tried messing with heigh and even the perforation filter but none did it for me. Thanks-david
Hi there! I keep running into this issue when importing embroidery assets from Sampler into Painter, and I haven't been able to find a way around it. Imported embroidery assets create negative height information around the edges which makes the embroidered asset look carved into the underlying surface instead of sitting on top of it. I've attached an image of the height channel of an embroidered asset imported into painter and applied with a warp projection which is the workflow outlined in this official adobe tutorial. The red shows negative displacement. I've also attached an image of my settings in Sampler and the result I see in sampler. Any help getting around this would be much appreciated!
