Is there a way to get a height map from substance sampler that won't have banding artifacts when using it in zbrush?Saving the bitmap in any format didn't work, also tried to convert it to 32bit inside substance disgner and affinity photo but no luck, however inside sampler it works just fine
Hi there.In sampler atm is not possible to create custom folders in the asset browser, the only way is to sync a folder from the local disk which is kind destructive if the same asset is shared thru multiple projects (I don't want to have the copy of the same file in multi folders)So if you can add this feature I would appreciate it.Thank you
Hi, I have the Educator version of Creative Cloud but Substance 3D sampler is only a trial. How long does the trial last please? Will it be long enough to learn and introduce to a class?
I know it's not that hard to create basic and decent PBR materials from quality images. I'm curious if anyone has experience extracting the depth map from Apple's LiDAR tech in their newer phones for use in Substance? I will be getting physical samples of rugs that I will be adding to archvis-style 3D rooms instead of traditional photography. I have recently tried dropping a detail rug sample into Adobe Substance 3D Sampler and it did a decent job of giving me a Bump and Normal map. (See image).Just looking for options to increase the realism and wondered if the new tech might be useful. Thanks.
I am trying to launch Sampler for the first time on my laptop but it wont load properly. The app is stuck in the view shown by the screenshot. Can someone please help?
I am trying to create a soft open cell charcoal foam that is pretty similar to the Eggcrate Acoustic Foam Panel in Substance Source. I am happy with the color and the look of it but I can't figure out how to create rough edges. It renders like a hard edge block. Is there a filter or a technique I can use when creating my material in Adobe Substance 3D Sampler that will achive this? I tried messing with heigh and even the perforation filter but none did it for me. Thanks-david
Hi there! I keep running into this issue when importing embroidery assets from Sampler into Painter, and I haven't been able to find a way around it. Imported embroidery assets create negative height information around the edges which makes the embroidered asset look carved into the underlying surface instead of sitting on top of it. I've attached an image of the height channel of an embroidered asset imported into painter and applied with a warp projection which is the workflow outlined in this official adobe tutorial. The red shows negative displacement. I've also attached an image of my settings in Sampler and the result I see in sampler. Any help getting around this would be much appreciated!
Is there a preset somewhere / downloadable for Sampler that exports to Unity URP ?Not sure why it's just not included - now having to go through Designer and learn that just to create one which looks tedious to do.

Could anyone help understand why my imported materials are not to scale on the mesh models? The metadata for the png materials and the auto-measure are showing that the scale should be correct, but on the shoe and tshirt mesh 3D previews, the scale is way too large. Would be great to drag and drop and see them at the correct scale without manually changing anything. Thanks!
At first it crashed immediately after I saved my project. After that if I tried to load it it would crash after the program opened. I figured the file had bugged out so I deleted it and started fresh. Same issue. I opened a blank file and tried to save it with no changes, as soon as I clicked Save As it crashed.I looked on the forum for help and some had luck deleting their folder and others deleting the 'Your Assets' folder. Did both those steps, launched the program, I saw the sphere load up > froze > crashed.I restarted my PC and didn't open anything else other than Substance Sampler but no changes. I'm out of ideas and have been pulling my hair out for about an hour now so any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached my log below.

How to Export Materials to the Unreal Engine with Substance 3D Sampler?
Hi All My first question and just begun using Sampler couple weeks ago. I managed to created pretty good fabric material from Sampler. I want to add Color Parameter to Export SBSAR files, I couldn't find any info on this process. I am loading the SBSAR files into CLO and want the ability to recolor the material in CLO. Hello there! I am creating a custom filter to make decals and I have been trying to add a material Input but it does not seem to work. I have followed every requirements in the documentation but the material slot still does not appear... Is there anything missing? When using Image To Material (AI powered) I often find the surface displacement to be far too much. Adjusting the micro, medium, and large detail sliders most often yields unsatisfactory results in resolving the issue. What is the proper way to reduce the normal intensity/height displacement in Sampler when creating a new material?
Hello, 3d Sampler crashes when trying to open the application. I recieve a message referencing an "Error 205".I've tried reinstalling Sampler with firewall/virus protection disabled. It still crashes.I've also tried deleting the Adobe 3D Sampler folder and re-executing. That did not work either. I'm attaching logs to this post. Thanks,Robert
Atlas scatter is not working. I drag and drop leaves intot the material slot and nothing happens. Tried on a brand new material with nothing in it and wasn't working either.

I don't know what to do here -- Took a break from using the app for 6-7 weeks as it was so frustrating, and I think my main file is still corrupt, which sucks as it was a TON of work to get that together.Anyway, the app doens't crash now... sort of. Instead, I'm politely told by the system that I'm running out of memory, and I need to force quit something...which something is quite obvious 🙂So, idk if there's a memory leak, or what not. When this happens, I'm exporting samples into .png files. Nothing too crazy. Whether I do it one at a time, waiting for each to finish exporting, or queue a bunch up, this will happen after 5-15 are loaded. Seems like memory is being used, but never releassed.

Delight filter doesn't work very well in this case. Traditioanlly, it would be done in PS with sample brush. Can Sampler do this more effeciently?
