Discovered an issue with unlinked materials (so you can change the color for the individual item) when a decal is applied. I had upgraded to 2.1.2 and on save, 5 seconds after the save finished, the decal would delete itself. I rolled back to 2.1.1 and the problem appears to be fixed, but the bug needs to be addressed for future versions.
Hi there, How can I access the rotation settings for the enviornment when its rotated via the shift-RMB shortcut? Rotating the environment with shift-RMB way does not affect the global environment rotation setting that you can access when selecting the environment. I don't know why these are separated in the first place. I'm trying to match the lighting in another scene but can't figure out the rotation values for the environment since i adjusted it using shift-rmb. LT
I was so happy to see the turntable spin and orbit features that have been added to Stager, thank you! Would like to make a feature request to be able to import animated GLB and FBX files to Stager also...this would be a game changer if I could bring my animated characters in! I love Stager and would love to be able to use it more but since most of my things are animated I've been limited in what I can do with it. Hoping it's on the roadmap for the future at some point!
Hi there, I've encountered an issue where no amount of uninstalling, restarting or resetting seems to fix for me. When I open an existing document or a new document, the workspace/document window/main screen is blank or black.
Model import from Solidworks is broken for Solidworks 2023 files. I found some older files that haven't been updated since Solidworks 2022 and they import fine, but everything saved in 2023 errors. Please update the importer. Exporting as a .step file works, but it would be nice to be able to skip that step. I have started creating a cover page with a render for every drawing that I do that gets sent out to a customer, so any reduction in steps and file count would be appreciated.
Hello, I've just joined the community and I've been wondering for the last 5mins if the admins can maybe add a car to the 3D asset, with some simple touches like adding spin animation and some simple spash effects a cool drifting animation can be made...
I wuld like to know how to export a model and/or a scene to a .psd file (if possible)? It seems that option is not available. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I tried using the latest version of substance stager after several months and the software keeps freezing on the launch screen. I've attached the screen where the applications get frozen. I've tried reinstalling the application and tried using the older versions as well but the same problem persists. Can I please get some fix for this please?
Hello, I created a composition in stager, and wish to visualize it in an AR app on my phone. Yet, the composition / creation is way too big. How can I reduce the file format, or reduce the polygons, withing Adobe. I dont want to delete elements etc, as my project will become even bigger later on. I just want to reduce the size of the general file. I you could help me do this, would be wonderful.
Hi, im trying nto make simple videos like tis one i attached, but im looking for better camera movements, stager will improve to move and animate cameras or objects like dollys?? just curious about it, it would be great for making more complex videos
I have some objects in my scene I applied a height map to and activated displacement. Now I cant seem to deactivate - or reactivate - this setting on these objects, the button is greyed out. Why?
The new Stager update has this weird bug where the entire screen goes blank. So, it freezes and it's impossible to restore any work (corrupts the files too) - won't close without a "force quit action." I have had to do this several times already and it's very unreliable/concering; Here's a screenshot, if anyone has ideas. 🤷🏻♀️(Don't think it's my laptop but for reference, I am running macOS Sonoma, on MacBook Pro M1 chip.)
I'm using a Fusion 360 to Stager workflow to model our product shots and it's been working very well. The one thing I can't seem to get right, however, is eliminating the hot spot created by the ground plane. In concept I can understand that light would bounce off the ground and multiply a bit toward the bottom of an object but what is not making sense is the ground plane is emmiting light even when all other lights are turned off. See attached pics. Lights, environmental light and global light are all turned off yet objects till appear lighter toward the ground. Having products that need to be standing up, use a white color and are not translucent are prooving almost imposible to light evenly. I can move them off of the ground and that works but for some I want the shadows to create a sense of three dimensional space. Having the same isue with glass items being blown out when they touch the ground. I've got a hunch there is no fix for this but I thought I'd pick the br
i have scoured adobe manuals, google etc high and low ..... what is the subsurface material (in stager) what does it do, how do you use it.?
Hello!I have a manually customized Environment in an SSG file, that has many lights with custom properties. My question is: Is there a way to export/save/duplicate/copy/load a file's custom Environment... for use with other files? I'm not seeing a way to save an Environment, so it looks like I will have to manually add/place every single light and its properties into each file. Am I thinking about this wrong? Thank you!
What a wreck this 2.1 update has created. Is anyone else noticing wildly different results amongst renders done before today's update (2.1) and any previous version? I'm opening a file I rendered just yesterday (2.0.2) with today's update (2.1,) and the results are completely different when I render it again with 2.1... same file, and the render is completely different with the 2.1 update. Why should I have to research and adjust my historical file's long-standing Material properties so that 2.1 renders will look like every version rendered beforehand? I am supposed to edit every single past file, just to hope to get the same visual results with which I have been pleased in the past? Ridiculous. This update is complete $#!@ when it comes to consistency of file rendering existing files with the same results past versions created. Just look at this attached example, which uses the same exact file to render... why on earth would 2.1 introduce rendering that won't render a consistent look
When you use the "Send to Stager" button in Substance Painter and an object goes over with its generated textures, where are those textures saved? I'm trying to find a way to update them without having to send the model to Stager again and again every time I edit a material (btw, a texture refresh feature and better integration with Painter need to be top of the list of future new Stager features), but I don't know where they are being saved upon export. Also, can someone explain a little about what preset or settings are used when textures are created and sent to Stager this way? If you have some of the more advanced channels active, like translucency, SSS, or top coat settings in a smart material for example, are they properly calculated and automatically applied to the proper channels in Stager? Thank you very much in advance for any information.
I am creating dioramas using Illustrator atm. I wonder if it possible to assemble them in Stager and make use of lighting? Is it possible to illustrate and import image files with transparent backgrounds? Simple diorama created in Procreate attached as an example of a diorama i'm hoping to assemble in Stager...Here's one created using AI. (Artificial intellegence, not Adobe Illustrator)
I've been using Stager for a few days now and am liking it so far (especially the masked PSD output), but I think the single most important feature that it needs is one that I assumed it had when I subscribed in order to try it - that you can send textures back and forth between it and Substance Painter easily. You can send them *from* Painter to Stager, but not back - but by far, the lack of a refresh button in Stager to update any exported textures from Painter is the biggest problem this program has. I'd also like to see the Load Material Textures in Stager be able to auto-fill the texture slots with textures that share the surface's name (instead of just the first alphabetically-named texture) and for Substance Painter to be able to use the Mercury renderer (in addition to or instead of Iray) to make Painter to Stager workflows as accurate as possible. Thank you for your time.
Hello everyone, We're excited to announce that we will be hosting special sessions for workflows using Illustrator and the Substance3D suite of products in person at Adobe Max. The 3D Render Bar The 3D render bar will be in the Community Pavilion by the Creative Park: Booth G407, and it will be open all 3 days during the Creative Park open hours. Attendees will be able to create their own product label in Illustrator, bring it into Substance 3D Stager, apply it to an object, stage it, and print out a postcard with their "first" render on it. It’s a fun way to discover 3D and make a great photorealistic image in a few steps. Here are some examples of scenes/ packshots people can easily create. Hi Adobe Community, I try Adobe Stager for the first time and was surprise by the low quality/resolution of PNG export (even PSD). The first image is 2048x1152, 2000samples, resolution full. It has low resolution when exported as PNG or PSD. We do not see the bracelet texture detail very well. It seems globally blurry. My reference image 2000x2000 (quality is definitly higher): Is there a way to improve it ?I try in 4096, it is a little better but two large to be used in a website.
Hi there, the UI of Stager (Windows 11) is unfortunately very blurry. Unlike other Adobe programs. On the screenshot you can see a part of Adobe Bridge over Stager - that's where the difference is most noticeable. The resolution on this screen is 1920-1080 pixels (100%).Is there a workaround to fix this problem? Thanks a lot!
When I use the "Send to Substance 3D Stager" feature in Substance Painter, I get the "Unable to Import Model" error in Stager. But it gets weirder than that.Maybe there's something wrong with the model? Well I can import the model directly into Stager with no problem. I can also import the model into a fresh scene of Painter, and then use the "Send to Substance 3D Stager" and it works with no problems.Just to make sure there wasn't something weird going on with my materials, I deleted every layer in my texture set and replaced them all with standard fill layers. Nothing special. It still doesn't send. So there's nothing wrong with the materials.I have also exported all the textures from my scene, opened a new Painter scene, imported the model, and re-connected all the textures, and when I send it to Stager after doing that, it works. It's almost like my working SPP file is bugged and just won't send to Stager. For the record, I have tons of othe
