I'm trying to render a PNG sequence as below and I get the following errors:
- AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: PNGIO library error: known incorrect sRGB profile
- AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: unable to create PNGIO
- An unexpeted error occurred while exporting a composition. Error Code: 1
As a result, it exported just one 0-byte png, which is damaged.
If I open the same project on another machine (again on Windows), it renders without any warning/errors:
Any help?
Hi all,
This issue was fixed in After Effects 22.3.
Thanks,
Rameez

Now that I've update the second machine to the very last version of AE I'm having the same problem. 😞

Same Problem here on multiple pc's.
Happened after the latest update. Even when trying to render an empty composition these errors occur.
The error doesn't happen when you change the "Color Management" in the "Output Module Settings" fromt "Embed Profile" to "Preserve RGB".
It also doesn't happen when you open a new (clean) project and import the project (with the error-problem) en try to render the exact same PNG. So the problem is AE and not the project.
These are work arounds and no sollutions. Please come with a bug fix update Adobe.

I confirm this.

This doesn-t work for me.

Yesterday I've found out my work-around isn't really working perfectly. When I open a clean project my Project Settings>Color>Working Space was set to 'None'. While the ae-project with the PNG-error is set to 'sRGB IEC61966-2.1'
The color-profile 'sRGB IEC61966-2.1' seems to be the problem. Any other color-profile renders without problems.
So now my new work-around is changing my project-color-profile to 'Apple RGB' which is close to 'sRGB IEC61966-2.1'-profile. SO:
Project Settings>Color>Working Space: Apple RGB

I'm having the same issue. I uninstalled the 22.1.1 update and downgraded to the previous version. Now everything works again.

Hi all,
We're sorry for the trouble. We're here to help. Could you share more details?
Which version of AE are you using?
Please share your system info(OS, RAM, GPU, etc).
Also, your computer may have saved a crash report for the instance. Could you share one with us for analysis? https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/faq-how-to-find-after-effects-crash-logs-on...
Looking forward to your response.

Shivangi

Thanks for the details. I can see the all of you are using Windows as OS. Assuming the GPU drivers are updated to the latest version for all of your computers, would you mind giving a try to different export settings?

I can currently render PSD directly from After Effects. I have been exporting MP4 successfully from ME. What export settings would you like us to try?

What export settings do you want to try? Don't have much time for many tests to be honest.

Hi Shivangi,
Any result?
All other export settings are working correctly. And 2 new Mac users in this thread have the same issue.
I would love to help and give you more information about the problem.
Looking forward to your response, (but looking more forward to some help and fixing of the problem.)

Hi @Shivangi_Gupta
How is the progress on this problem?
Need any more information or trials that we should try to give more info?
There has just been an update on AE but the problem had not been resolved.

Hi @stevebrig,
The fixed issue from your screenshot is a different one.
The current PNG bug is a known issue and is listed here (under December): https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/kb/known-issues-after-effects.html
I can confirm that this bug will be fixed in the upcoming version of After Effects v22.3, which will be released soon. If you want to try it out, you can download the Beta build from the Creative Cloud desktop app under the Beta app section. It is a separate install and doesn't affect your current stable version.
Thanks,
Rameez
