Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you're just joining us, we've already covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape, DUIK Ángela, and Motion Tools Classic, all worth a look. This time we're looking at a big one for anyone who does motion graphics, social content, or fast-turnaround client work. If you've ever wished you had a library of ready-made transitions and elements you could just drag into a comp, the AEJuice Starter Pack is exactly that, and it's free. Meet the AEJuice Starter PackThe AEJuice Starter Pack is a free collection of 100+ drag-and-drop motion graphics assets, delivered through AEJuice's Pack Manager panel. Instead of building common elements from scratch every time, you browse a visual library right inside After Effects, drag what you need onto your timeline, and keep moving.A nice bonus: the Starter Pack works in Premiere Pro too, so it's not just an After Effects tool. What you can do with itThe Starter Pack packs a lot into
Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you missed the earlier posts, we covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape and DUIK Ángela, both well worth a look. This time we're keeping it simple, with a small toolkit that a lot of you have probably already used without thinking about it. Motion Tools Classic is one of those tools that just quietly speeds up the boring parts of every animation. Meet Motion Tools ClassicMotion Tools Classic, from the team at Motion Design School, is the original free version of Motion Tools, the everyday animation toolkit that's been trusted by motion designers since 2017. In a world of heavy, do-everything plugins, this one goes the other way on purpose. It's a small, focused set of the tools you actually reach for every day, with nothing extra to get in the way.And it's completely free. What you can do with itMotion Tools Classic keeps things tight and practical:Easing – apply and adjust easing with clean, simple controls
Motion Tracker has an issue tracking a time-manipulated layer. Make a Right-click → Render in Place before it’s too late. Pre-compose - Render - Import - Replace is 90s level solution.
Many years ago it was possible to import AAFs directly into After Effects with Automatic Duck. Now the workaround is to import the AAF into Premiere and then open the premiere project in After Effects. I would love the ability to start my compositing without the circuitous import process.
When do I get the "Unknown BIB Error" error in After Effects? A bad font or corrupted font cache could cause this error to appear in the following situations: While previewing. When opening a project. In some cases, you might see this error at launch. Solution: Our community recommends the following solutions: • Reload Illustrator files - Right-click the Illustrator files in the Project panel and select Reload Footage • Remove newly installed and duplicate fonts. Instructions are below - Windows: https://bit.ly/3Uf9fwK macOS: https://apple.co/3BzjqF3 • Clear the font cache. I have to move from Win to Mac systems but stumbled upon a glaring issue in AE. Using a Wacom Pen set to either Pan/Scroll or Pan/Scroll (Legacy) causes AE to turn the cursor into the Hand Tool to move the comp canvas around rather than perform a scrolling operation. This is messed up because I want to use scrolling to Smooth Zoom rather than pan around.I don't want to use keyboard shortcuts because that can only be in steps. I also don’t want to hold the zoom tool because it often sticks or is unresponsive. I'm not sure what AE is doing communicating with the Wacom/driver but only AE has this issue. On Windows it's totally fine. I'm on Tahoe using the latest Wacom Drivers and a Intuos Pro CTH-660 tablet.
Okay so i recently bought after effects newest version to fix this problem but it still isnt fixed! So everytime i play my project back a few times i get these errors below and honestly its getting tiring having to reload footage/readd footage/replace footage, is this a bug with everyone or just me?All my clips are in one file, i cleared my disk cache and everything. these clips are not premier related so i dont know what other fixes may help end this issue because it is honestly very inconvienient.
Timeline folders. We have them in Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator... precomps can utterly ruin your work and is NOT an alternatives to having a simple folder hierarchy - especially when dealing with shape layers or anything that requires continual rasterization.
Request: Would love to be able to parametrically adjust the corner radius of individual corners of rounded rectangles in AE. Similar to illustrator / figma. I know this can be done through scripting / expressions, but would love to see native controls to create shapes like this. Would simplify things greatly. Example from figma:
So as you can see, in this particular project, the timeline is ghosted, when you mouse over it, some of the timeline comes back, then if you click elsewhere, the timeline vanishes again. I’ve deleted the cash files, no effect. The really strange thing is other projects do not do this, I get these random ones that just won’t load. You can enter text on the playback but you can’t select anything in the timeline. Vanishes as soon as you attempt to mouse over it. I am working with the latest AE 26.5. Any ideas? And don’t come back with add the comp to a new comp, that does not work and it’s a workaround.
iam using the latest updated After Effects, in the new updated version, iam getting a White block shape appearing behind vectors in After Effects after importing from illustrator, and i cant attach the illustrator work file here in the community post,
Hi, I’ve been trying to bring iphone clips into After Effects via Dynamic Link from Premiere (“Replace with After Effects Composition”).The iphone clips color seems ok before I bring them into After Effects:But after I click “Replace with After Effects Composition” - if my After Effects “Working Color Space” is set to None then it causes issues in Premiere and often I have to restart Premiere. If I set the Working Color Space to Rec 709 Gamma 2.4, then I don’t get an error message but the iphone clips show up extremely over-exposed and weirdly colored in After Effects:I imagine that that if I just convert the clips to Prores or something then I won’t have this error, but is there a way that I can avoid these error messages and issues without having to convert the clips to prores for every project I work on? This doesn’t seem to be an issue with non-iphone clips and this wasn’t happening at all with any clips until the past couple years. I’ve tried disabling the color in Premiere, but th
Issue - When working in a composition larger than 10,000px horizontal, guides can no longer be placed at positions further than 10,000 pixels when using the “Edit Guide...” dialog. The dialog accepts values larger than 10,000 in the text box, but will always snap back to 10,000 after clicking “ok”.Steps to Reproduce:Create a comp with a horizontal resolution larger than 10,000 pixels (for example, 11,000) This step doesn’t seem to be 100% necessary, the issue occurs when placing a guide further than 10,000px even with a comp size smaller than 10,000px wide. Turn on rulers and drag a vertical guide out from the ruler. Right click the guide and click “Edit Guide...” to open the dialog box. Edit the “position” value to be a number larger than 10,000 pixels. Click “OK” Observe the guide snapping to the 10,000px position, right click the guide again to see that it is at 10,000px instead of the position entered.Expected Result - Guide should be placed at the position value entered in the “E
I have found a reproducible After Effects file-import problem when using an SMB network volume on the macOS Golden Gate beta. When I try to import a PNG file from a network path containing Icelandic characters, After Effects displays:After Effects error: File exists but couldn't be open for reading (3 :: 0) Example failing path:/Volumes/markadsdeild/Markadsdeild/Sjónvarp/06 On-Air grafík/01 SÝN/Vatnsmerki/01 Renders/01 Taka 2/01 Hvítt/Syn-vatnsmerki-hvitt_00025.png The file is visible in Finder and can be copied to my local Desktop. After copying it locally, After Effects imports it successfully.I also tested the same file on the same network volume using an ASCII-only folder and filename:/Volumes/markadsdeild/AE_test/test_00025.png That version imports successfully into After Effects. This suggests that After Effects may be encountering a path or Unicode-normalization problem when accessing files through an SMB volume. The problem appears to involve Icelandic characters such as í, ó,
I have project made in AE26.3 where I am using varible OpenSans font to achieve decided effects. After I updated to AE26.5 it is not working and OpenSans variable is not installed / seen by AE. Other variable fonts are, but not OpenSans. Only fixed weight variant is available. It also show missing OpenSans Roman variable - I do not know why roman, but I believe that should be the problem - wrong indentification. But until it will be fixed I have to use older version, sadly..
currently my project is just two solid layers and two text layers with no animation, my preview resolution is set to third. Despite this when I want to playback the project by pressing the space bar it just buffers/freezes and cant seem to play it back for me. I have cleared the media disk cache very often and even made it so it will use my ssd to store cache instead of my local drive? For context I have a macbook pro 2019 which I recently updated to Tahoe? its an intel core aswell which ive heard might not be good for adobe? as you can tell idk much and am not a tech person im just a graphic design graduate tryna develop my skills and get a job in this crazy job market.anyways, if anyone could help me figure out how to fix this/make my ae run a bit smoother it would be great thanks!
I am working on a project in After Effects v23.0. If I go to File > Save As > there are no options to save my project to Creative Cloud. I am only provided the option to save a file on my computer. How can this be resolved? Thank you.
Is there a list yet for MacOS 27 Golden Gate Compatibility with After Effects?
About 2 months ago I updated my After Effects from 24.5 to 25.5. Editing and all of that are working pretty well, but when it comes to rendering, it's super slow. When I was using the 24.5 version of AE, rendering was pretty fast, but now I have to wait over 10 minutes to render a short video of 2 minutes. I've tried multiple things: updating my drivers, clearing cache, enabling the multi-frame rendering feature, and none of these things did much. My PC specs are definitely more than good enough and it doesn't make any sense for render to be that slow, I'll list them below: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600K32GB DDR4NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Waiting for it to finish rendering is taking too much of my time away, if someone could help me with this problem that would be awesome, thanks!
Hi all, Bit of a random one that's bugged me for a while and I've never been able to figure out, hopefully somebody can help! I want to animate the scale of the characters in a text later but notice the achor point is always sitting at the bottom of each character (see image below, have circled the anchor points). I'd like to shift these achor points to the center on the text so the characters scale from the middle rather than the bottom, has anybody figured out a way to do this? Any help would be great! Many thanks!
Issue Built-in Unmult leaves residual alpha instead of producing fully transparent pixels. Steps to reproduce Create a composition. Import footage with a black background. Apply the built-in Unmult effect. Inspect the alpha channel. Expected result The alpha value should become 0 in transparent areas. Actual result A residual alpha value remains (equivalent to 1 in 8-bit). The issue also occurs in 16 bpc projects. Environment After Effects 26.0 Windows 11 Additional information This issue does not occur with third-party Unmult plugins such as Knoll Unmult or Red Giant Unmult.
