Problem (which is with the progress bar, and not the actual .xml file) is already fixed in PPro betas, and will be fixed in PPro's next official release.

Hi @Reyna37134984uttm - I believe your issue is a known issue.

Issue: Windows customers may see an “Import Files” dialog box that never completes in the following conditions:

  • The Learn, LibrariesFrame.io panel, or any panel listed in Windows > Extensions, is turned on.
  • An AAF, Final Cut Pro XML, or EDL file is being imported.

Workaround: When importing these file types, first close the above-listed panels. The panels can be turned on again after the import has been completed.

@Bruce Bullis  sorry for the delay, I was rolled back to 25.0beta for a bit due to this issue making it impossible for me to work on the 25.1 beta -- I can confirm for you that in the current beta build (47) importing pluraleyes xml's seems to be working once again as per usual without needing to close any extension panels. Not sure what was going on there but glad to see it was resolved! thank you for identifying a potential work around in the meantime

Hi @Log.In agency

This is a known issue that has been fixed in the latest beta version of Premiere Pro. I am moving your post to the discussion that has been ongoing with this issue. Look for the fix to also be in 25.1 once released. In the meantime you can import XML's into the beta.

Thank you,

Ian

There is a beta version for the newly released 2025 build?

We had PPro 25.1 beta builds out before 25.0 shipped. 🙂

I have same problem on a very regular basis. In the past I would have expected it to be related to generating audio previews, but there are only (3) clips in the imported project

PP 25 Windows gets hung up on importing files while doing XML import.  Doesn't crash it but just hangs on import window.  Had to import on latest version of 24 and then boot up v25.

We've confirmed that the "infinite progress dialog" behavior is fixed, in the current PPro beta.

I've confirmed that I can successfully import PluralEyes FCP XMLs in it, without incident.

Are you not seeing successful import, in the current beta?

Summary:

Recently, my Premiere Pro cannot import project files from After Effects. The import process gets stuck at the "Import Information" pop-up, preventing the file from being added to the project.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create and save a project with a composition in After Effects.
  2. Open Adobe Premiere Pro.
  3. Go to File > Import and select the After Effects project.
  4. Observe that the "Import Information" pop-up appears and stays stuck.

Environment:

Premiere Pro Version: 25.0.0 (Build 61)
After Effects Version: 25.0.0 (Build 53)
Operating System: Windows 11 Home Single Language 64-bit
Hardware:

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
  • 20GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce MX230

Expected Result:
The After Effects project should import successfully, and the media should appear in Premiere Pro.

Actual Result:
The import process stays stuck at the "Import Information" pop-up.
The project is not imported into Premiere Pro.

Please investigate the issue with the import process, particularly with the "Import Information" pop-up, to restore smooth integration between the two programs.

Did you try it with other AE files and/or with a new project in PP?

That AE project looked, from the diminished screen capture to have many comps, can you do it with a simplified AE project.

I just did it with a simple AE project and a new PP project, except I dropped it into the PP project panel from file explorer.

Did you delete your cache with the upgrade to 2025?

I think I’ve found the quickest solution to this problem, at least for now, which is by going to File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition

Version of the app: 25.0.0

Platform: Windows 11, version 23h2, build 22631.4317

The problem: Premiere won't import files into project panel, I can get aroung by clicking cancel and trying again.

Steps to replicate:

  1.  Create new project
  2.  Go to project pannel
  3.  Double click it or right click and click import

What should have happened: Windows explorer opens and I chose the file I want to import.

What happened: Premiere Pro shows a popup informing "Importing" but it gets stuck

Plugins and extensions: Premiere Composer, Motion Bro, Free audio search, animation studio, envato, magic bullet colorista V, motion 4 and myfx.

Got the same issue. First I thought it was because I tried to import .aep-files created in the previous versions of AE (which is also wrong but understandable), so I created a new .aep-file in the current version of Ae and still get no progress on import.

Strangely, if I open my old projects already having aep files in them created via Replace with after effects composition, they all import alright. New aeps created with this function also import without an issue.

The only way importing stand-alone aep-files works is File > Dynamic link > Import Ae comp...

This is strange

One observation here. This issue happens only if you try to import an aep file via th import context menu in the project bin. If you open a Win11 window and simply drag the file into the project bin it imports without a problem
