I've recently been looking at the new colour management system, and along the way have noted a few points I'd like to raise. If any of these display 'operator error' on my part I'm sure you'll let me know : )   1. I appreciate the the new system is 'sequence centric', but I think an option to set program level default colour management settings is needed. I have clients using a wide variety of footage types, frames sizes and frame rates on an ad-hoc basis, so they make sequences as required - but want them all to be Wide gamut (tone mapped) with Rec709 output. They'd like to make that colour management setting the default for all sequences - rather than having to remember to set it for each on creation.   2. Having set a sequence to use non-default colour management - eg: Wide gamut (tonemapped), In the case of a 'clip mismatch' warning - with 'change sequence settings' chosen - the sequence reverts back to the colour management defaults of Direct Rec709. I've always thought of 'clip mismatch' as a frame size and frame rate issue only, so I don't think it should be making a change to the colour management setting.   3. More of a question: Is it possible to easily identify media that has not been auto recognised by the system?   On a more general note: I'm seeing a lot of footage that is not being 'auto recognised' - that I think should be. It's great to see this finally arrive!  So first of all - thank you : )   I teach AE, and have done so for a long time. One thing that I find new users sometime stumble over is that if the trackmatte is established and subsequently set back to 'none' - eg: the user 'made a mistake' - the matte layer visibility is not automatically turned back on - having been automatically turned off when the TrkMat was initially set. In my experience this quite often leaves the new user scratching their head - thinking, 'where's my matte layer gone'?   I haven't fully thought through any consequences of this, but I wonder if setting the trackmatte back to none should revert the visibility of that layer back to 'visible'.   Thoughts?     ... This issue persists.   When I first posted above I was working on an older system and thought it may be an issue specific to that machine.   I'm now on a brand new machine, new drives, clean windows install, latest AE installed - same issue    I also have colleagues on other machines with this issue.   Is Adobe aware of this bug and fixing it? ... I am an experienced AE Instructor - and former Community Pro, so I've explored most of the obvious trouble shooting options at this point. I can work around it for the moment. Thanks Rick - I have almost exactly the same set up to 'sync' across multiple machines. All my plugins / presets / scripts etc are on Dropbox and linked to the relevant folders. I've used this set up for years, not only with Ae, but other software as well. In fact it was doing a bit of holiday maintenance / cleanup that lead me to discover this oneDrive file path issue.   I've now managed to find others with this same problem. With the shape layer selected, click on the word 'Fill' - not the colour swatch itself. A dialog will open with the various fill options - including one for 'None' - an icon with a diagonal red line through it. Alternatively, you can twirl open the shape layer in the timeline, twirl open: Contents > 'shape' > and in there you'll find the 'Fill'. This can simply be deleted, or if you are uncertain about deleting it: look to the right of that line you'll find a visibility eyeball which can be clicked on to switch the fill visibility off. ...
