After Effects

The clips started in premiere pro and I replaced sequence with AE comp, in premiere pro I used gyroflow to help stablize the footage. I’m using Track Motion on 4K 60fps footage that’s been precomped twice and is now in a 1080p comp. I’m tracking inside the 1080 comp and applying the data to a null using Edit Target. The track itself looks solid with no visible drift, but once I apply it, the null starts in the correct position and then immediately drifts as playback begins. The null is currently parented to the tracked layer. Both layers are at 100% scale, and there’s no time remapping or stabilization applied.  

My trial using A solid layer as a page in Cinema 4D render in AEGood day everyone. I’ve been trying to simulate a magazine where its pages are fluttering as if a draft of wind/breeze. While comparing it to my reference, it feels like I am unable to capture the similar effect.I have shared my timeline below, mainly using the geometry - curvature and Y axis rotation to give the effect using Cinema 4D render.my timeline I would love to hear some feedback on how I could improve this. I have tried CC bend it and CC bender and even warp effects but none of them felt right so I ended up discarding those versions. Attached below is the reference I used -  reference video 

Hi, I’m trying to use Content Aware Fill, for the first time probably and it just won’t create any Fill for me. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I’v tried it as well on completly different footage and project and the problem persist. I upload the footage Create a Mask on the layer Set the Mask on Subtract and sets Feather Motion Tracker on Mask is not needed The hole is visible in Comp and in Content Aware Fill Clicks on Generate Fill Layer from Content Aware Fill After approximately 6s a new fill layer appears, however without any fill or content Immediatelly my CPU and RAM start going up until 100% (I have 64GB DDR4 RAM and i5-12600KF CPU) CPU stops going crazy when I delete the new Fill layer and my RAM drops to like 80-90%, until I reopen the project again. There is no visible activity in After Effects and I even left it for a moment running on 100% to see, if something appear in After Effects, however nothing showed up. For most of the time I don’t encounter hardware limitations

Is it it possible to run Duik Bassel.2 on AE2026? I’m so sick of this Duik Angela and how they’ve changed everything. What’s the point adding new features if you mess up the old and trusted and working features and change the whole interface so you have to re-learn everything? Anyway… This is what I get when trying to launch Bassel in AE2026. Why is colour management with dynamic link still such utter garbage? Why can't you just make anything straightforward? 

I'm trying to do some time remapping but when I edit my keyframes in the graph editor they look like this? There is no space for me to use the handles or do anything really. It is a reoccurring issue but I have managed to not have this in the past. I have hit F9 and the easy ease function and neither work. Any help would be much appreciated!

I recently got a new laptop that’s specifically designed for modeling and editing software. I’ve been working on a project for the past week in the newest version of After Effects, but the program has been bugging out when I’m in the middle of working on it. The footage and all the tools freeze in the player so I can’t see what I’m doing. I’ve reached out to Adobe to ask for help, but the best they can do is connect me with a sloppy AI chatbot that can’t answer my questions or put me in contact with an actual person. Let me know what I should do.

How do I solve this?? "After Effects error: The file path to this PDF document exceeds 260 characters and cannot be used. Move the file to a location with a shorter path." I am unable to do this move as these are source files from client...

Hi,So I want to terminate an effect to work exactly at a certain point, but before reaching that very second the effect must continue. Is there any way I can use an expression for this? please help me.  

In After Effects, the Effects panel randomly becomes unresponsive. The app doesn’t crash, but I can’t select any effects. It worked minutes ago. Sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes I must restart AE. 

I’m running into a 2–4 second delay when editing text layers. For some reason, it seems to lag every time the text is updated. Even after changing to another font (such as Arial), resetting the Character panel, disabling Faux styles, and lowering the preview resolution, the issue persists.This behavior doesn’t seem hardware-related.This is significantly affecting my workflow, especially given the premium price of the software. At this point, I’m considering moving to UE5 for motion graphics, particularly because of its real-time rendering capabilities. For reference, my setup:Ryzen 9 5990X / 64 GB RAM / RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB / 2.2 TB SSDAfter Effects is updated to the latest version.

I want to assign a key to this (see my screenshot) so that I can reset the selected parameter with a single key press on the keyboard. For example, if I have selected "Position", I press (conditionally) "P", the parameter will be reset to the default value. And so on with each selection. But I did not find this in the key settings. Hi,I am getting an error when trying to open After effects 2024 v24.6.6. Last log message was: <135947333> <AppDirs> <5> Required Dir =/Applications/Adobe After Effects 2024/Adobe After Effects 2024.app/Contents/Required I have tried booting in safe mode, resetting preferences and disabling plugins and each time AE crashes.Currently running 2023 Mac studio M2 Max Sonoma 14.7.2.I have also cleared all cache files for adobe, rebooting, uninstalled and re-installed application.

Bonjour, J'ai un problème d'export After effect avec alpha pour gérer la transparence.J'ai créé mon fichier avec un fond rouge dans les pramètres du doc.J'ai animé des lettres vectorisées ainsi que des formes vectorielles.Lorsque j'exporte en .MOV, quick time avec RVB+Alpha et codec Apple ProRes 4444, il m'exporte un fichier qui, lorsque je le lis sur QuickTime a un fond noir, certainement d'aperçu, avec un fond rouge lorsque je le lis sur VLC, mais qui est transparent lorsque je l'importe dans Première... J'ai teste avec le codec animation, l'aperçu sur QuickTime n'est pas possible et sur VLC, en version RVB+Alpha elle apparait vert sur VLC, peut être la simulation de transparence ? et elle apparait bien en transparence dans Première. Sur mon serveur, les versions RVB+Alpha font ré-apparaitre le fond rouge... contrairement aux version alpha uniquement qui ont des fonds noirs (ou aperçu générer avec un fond noir automatiquement).Pouvez-vous m'aider svp ?

Hi, I’ve been learning After Effects and have been using it actively for the last two days. Today, my footage started to get corrupted on its own — I didn’t change any settings or do anything different. The videos suddenly turn pink and get distorted. Even the renders that looked fine yesterday now appear broken when I open them in After Effects. However, when I import the same files into CapCut, they play perfectly fine. I can’t figure out what’s causing this. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello, I bought a new gaming computer 5 months ago. At first, After Effects and Premiere worked perfectly, but before the second month was over, After Effects and Premiere started to perform poorly. Even standard videos would freeze during pre-rendering, and packages I downloaded from Envato would freeze in Premiere. I was able to run these packages quite stably on the office PC with a 3060 and 11400F. The main comparison is this: on the day I first got it, I rendered a video with lots of effects in After Effects in just 7 minutes, but now when I try to render the same file, it shows 40 minutes and is much slower than before. Sometimes it doesn't render at all or freezes with various errors. This also applies to Premiere. Because of this, I can't work at home right now. I tried formatting the system, but it didn't help. Hi everyone 👋I’m working on a short animation for a brand transition and would love your advice on the best way to approach it in After Effects.I have a title that currently reads “DeFi”, and I want it to visually transition into “OmniVault.”The idea is to make it feel like a transformation or evolution, possibly using: A curved mask reveal (there’s a large circular shape in the design) that acts as the portal to the text transition A ‘burn’ effect on the left side of the portal to emphasize that transition How would you approach this? Would you use track mattes? Shape morphing? How would you isolate a burn/glow effect so it only appears where the text intersects with the portal mask? Any specific effects you’d recommend? I am also attaching the raw .ai file if it can help understand the project better Would love to hear how you’d do it! 🙏    

Hello, im still new with element 3D i have a project , and i need to make a 3D lottery ball but im stuck how to make the ball with this pattern  anyone can help me ? 

I'm layering text over a background paper texture and am trying to change the blending mode to make the text look like it's printed on the paper. It's very easy to achieve this effect using Photoshop's "Blend If" feature in the blending modes menu:The effect can be very effectively fine-tuned using these sliders:I'm wondering if there's a way to achieve this same effect in After Effects. No combination of After Effects' blending modes that I've tried yields the same result where the texture of the paper really shows through the text like that. This is the closest I can can get: One workaround I've been using is to create the effect I want in Photoshop, import the PSD layers into After Effects and then turn on advanced blending, but this creates a whole bunch of annoying limitations, and I'd rather not have to go back into the PSDs to make formatting changes, so I'm hoping this effect can be produced completely within After Effects. Thanks!

I clearly want to  update my plugins after a while and that includes adding new parameters or replacing old parameters with new ones of different types. Question is, how do I do that without corrupting old projects? Currently I made a copy of my code and I have both the old version and the new version with different parameters just to prevent breaking my old projects. The downside is that I had to modify the name of the plugins (added 2.0 at the end) and also the old plugins obviously don’t get the actual functionality update(s). How can add/replace parameters without breaking old projects? Is the only way to keep the old parameters as invisible/hidden and read their values to adapt the new ones? That makes the code very messy.

AE 25.5, MacOS Sequoia 15.7.1, m1 MBP Max, 64gb RAMAfter Effects Timeline/Keyboard issue (see attached video):When the cursor keys (left and right) are pressed, the playback head moves frame by frame along the timeline (like in Premiere) instead of incrementally moving the object. Not shown in the video, but pressing the up and down cursor keys will toggle between selecting an upper or lower layer in the stack instead of incremenatlly moving the selected object up or down.Uninstalling/resinstalling, restarting, launching in safe mode, etc have not resolved the issue. It's basically as if After Effects thinks the Command key is pressed every time I'm pressing the cursor key. I've tried the following:-Purged all ram and cache repeatedly-I've updated the program and OS to the latest versions. -Both checked and unchecked "Use System Shortcut Keys" in Settings and restarted-Uninstalled AE 25 then reinstalled.-Deleted preferences (this worked once but the probelm came back wit

I posted this yesterday, but for some reason the post disappeared. So trying again…I’m a subscriber to Creative Suite running the latest version of After Effects (25.6.4 Build 3) on Windows 11.Has the option to disabled the “Tip of the Day” from displaying at After Effects first load been removed?I’m not finding the option to disable that in the usual place Preferences > Startup & Repair. Hey guys, just got after effects and am already hating the crap out of it. I used to use after effects 7 back and the day and have never ran into this problem. I’m currently trying to render about 4 minute video which basically the only effects I’m using are scaling, rotation, particle effects and some motion pixel blur. The concept is to just have the video rotating zooming out, when ever I go to render it jumps to 200+ hours and then fails about 11 hours in. I’m currently using a Mac Studio with the M4 max processor and 36gbs of ram.Ive tried all the solutions on the internet, including Turning off multi frame rendering, apple pro res encoding, QuickTime format, emptying the cache, pdf image rendering, allocating the ram just for after effects, etc…Im trying to render the video to my ssd which has 2100mb/s write speed. Maybe thats the issue? I want to render it to my computer harddrive but its currently full due to all of my recording files/plugins/sample files.what should I do?!?
