After Effects

I'm certain almost every user has seen the Missing Fonts dialog when opening an AEP -  So, today I said, enough of this crap - I'm going to get rid of this dialog. So ...How to RePro - 1 - in the Project Panel, input "Missing Fonts"2 - Project Panel displays comps that include one or more Text Layers with this "Missing Font"3 - Open each Comp and replace each instance of the font's use with a viable font. But you'll notice that each opened timeline displays only affected Text Layer(s).After completing the same task across all Comps I realize - DANG!!! How do I get back the layers? Shy Layer icon isn't in an enabled state. It seems like something at a lower level is hiding the layers unaffected by the "Missing Fonts".The only way I know (I think) how to get the other layers back into the timeline is to save-quit-restart. This is WILD! Hopefully this gets a quick fix - starting from the poorly thought Missing Fonts dialog which SHOULD include a list of the comps

It appears Expression Selectors have a bug with non-Latin scripts (Right to Left) like Arabic and Hebrew.   They don't render correctly on every frame, sometimes they're delayed, other times they're incorrect.   However, purging cache on each frame will render correctly. Also, sometimes it will seem to work fine, but then if you change or re-create the keyframes then the bug resurfaces.   In this example, the above text is animating correctly with a regular Range Selector, but the lower example is animating incorrectly with a simple Expression Selector driven by a slider.     Attached Project File for Reference.   (expression for reference) val = effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); if(Math.round(textIndex) == Math.round(val)) { [100, 100, 100]; }else{ [0, 0, 0]; }   Tested on: - AE 25.3.0 Build 71 - Windows 11

Please help. I've just rendered a video with some effects (shaking, twitching, coloring) and I guess messed with one layer. I've reversed one to make a transition . The reversed layer was with some color on it (effect like tritone you know) using a reversed turbulent displace either. So now I created a clearly new project, where's none of videos that I was using in the last, but on my preview page this one layer with color effect still stays like I added it to a timeline, but there's nothing! No one layer on it. And it renderers with this layer when didn't even add the file. Don't know how is it even possible. I'm sorry for my English, it's not my mother language. I can send video with the problem to a dm on insta/telegram/discord/twitter and stuff like these

When I render any composition, Creative Cloud Desktop still pops a “Render Complete” notification even though I’ve disabled Render Queue notifications in Edit → Preferences → Notifications and turned off After Effects notifications in the Creative Cloud app.Open After Effects 25.3.2 on MacOS Sequoia 15.5Go to Edit → Preferences → Notifications and un-check Render Queue notifications.In Creative Cloud Desktop → Account Icon → Preferences → Notifications, disable all app notifications.Create a new comp (any settings) and add it to the Render Queue.Click Render and wait for the render to finish.No Creative Cloud Desktop notification should appear, because both relevant notification toggles are off (see screenshots) but Creative Cloud Desktop still shows a “Render Complete” toast/badge the moment the render finishes.But whyyyy?

I have a 2TB SSD for cache, currently only 400MB is being used and After Effects warns me that I'm running out of space, what's happening?I'm worried, I've already deleted the temporary files and the same notification keeps popping up.  

Hello all,  Okay,   So this is an issue with After effects 2025 and Element 3d, the Video CoPilot Plugin.     I have been expereincing multiple crashes when using the plugin in a project.  After Effects will always fail to close and will need to have the task ended via Task Manager.    Then upon reopening AE, it will prompt with the Safe Mode/Reset Prefrences options and then once the project has been reopened Element 3d will be "missing" and I would then have to close the app out again (Which closes without crashing) and reopen it to proceed working in the file normally.   The second possible crash I experience usually happens (not always) when I open up a file browser or navigate outside of the app.   The whole Operating Software will freeze up and after about 30-60 seconds all screens will go black and I recieve two error messages (included below)  forcing me to close the App and go through the same proc

I'm using an Apple Mac Studio with M1 Max and 64gb of memory. Also using After Effects 25.2.2. I have a reset my preferences and made sure project link was checked in my quicktime prores 422hq output. Despite this, I cannot "edit original".  The video defaults to quicktime player instead of After Effects. The solutions given in the other threads do not work.. Whenever running After Effects my Wacom Intuos M starts having stuttery movement especially when After Effects is running in the background. As soon as I close After Effects, the issue is gone. The cursor seems to get stuck than moves again as if its lost communication. It is only when After Effcets is running or running in the background. Im on a Apple M1 Max running, OS 13.7.3

Since I switched to After Effects 2025 I can’t view my EXR HDR files properly when using Mercury GPU Acceleration (CUDA or OpenCL). As soon as GPU acceleration is on, everything caps at a max brightness of 100 and the highlights get totally clipped, whereas in Mercury Software Only (CPU) it works fine. In 2024 I could work in GPU mode no problem, but now I’m forced to stick to CPU.Also, when I’m using OCIO, AE only shows me one view transform option in the UI, so I can’t preview any specific look unless I drop in the “OCIO Look Transform” effect. It’s really important for an EXR workflow to be able to see the correct look while I work

I've been getting this quite a bit, (and my Sapphire plugins are just torturing After Effects. Constant crashes.) I have an NVidia RTX 3090.What's the recommended stable driver for AE 2025? How about 2024?

I have a project I made on this very same laptop (didn't change a thing) and now when I open the project, the app is stuck in a "not responding" state, and my cursor is stuck on the loading animation. It's just 6 simple trim path animations with track mattes on them, nothing 3D, no motion blur, no effects. Like I said, I made this entire thing on this laptop, and wherever I left it was playing back smooth and working fine. Now, I open it and the pre-comp that the animations are in just freezes the entire program, I can't move or click on anything because it's stuck trying to render a simple shape animation. Macbook Specs:M4 Pro24 GB RammacOS Seqouia 15.5

Every time I open After Effects, two error windows immediately pop up, and then the program shuts down automatically. I've already tried reinstalling it, but the issue still persists. Could you please help me solve this problem? Thank you. (QQ!!)

I am currently working on an AE comp (v. 23.1.o Build 83 - Mac OS Monterey v 12.6). I created a new comp and some text layers and discovered when typing the word "PEOPLE", the letter L automatically shows up as lower case and when I try to type it UPPER case it changes the font to Helvetica. It only happens when using the Extra Bold font style. 

Since I have a more powerful computer, After Effects crashes constantly during the simplest tasks like creating a mask. I have to restart the computer every two minutes while working. The computer has an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-Core Processor, 100 GB of RAM, and an RTX 5080 graphics card. All drivers are up to date. When I perform the same tasks on the old computer (Intel, 40 GB of RAM, RTX 3080), I have no problems. What could be the reason for that?

AE 25.3.2 upgrade hangs on file explorer when importing files, not even when you hit the import button. It will sometimes go unresponsive for around 20 seconds or crash. This started happening after updating and it happens around 30% of the time, on both the NAS and local drive. EDIT: It does not hang if I drag and drop files into the project. It's clearly the importerWin 112x RTX 4090Ryzen 9950x  

In After Effects, every time I import a 3D object, it is automatically recognized as a Trapcode object, even though I am using the correct AE version and workflow. Steps to reproduce:1. Open After Effects 2. Import a 3D object obj, gbl and verything else i tried3. Observe that AE labels it as a Trapcode object Expected result:The 3D object should import normally as a native 3D layer, without being converted or linked to Trapcode.Actual result:AE always treats the imported object as Trapcode, preventing proper use as a native AE 3D object.Platform: Windows 11 

More than once, in different projects that have nothing to do with each other (no merges or project imports), I have had After Effects alert me when deleting unused comps that they're in use. I know they're not in use because I'm familiar with the projects and After Effects itself shows that these comps are not in use by not displaying a "used X times" message next to the comp name in the project panel. Steps - search bar, type in Unused, select a comp listed, hit delete, get the alert. Finish by smacking After Effects for now having a problem with a process that didn't use to have a problem. v 25.2.0 Build 131Windows 11 

Hi there, I discovered a really annoying bug that needs to adressed asap. When I create a Premiere project with Dynamic links in After Effects on a Windows machine and later on open the same project on a Mac, upon saving the After Effects project, it deletes itself. It vanished, literally. Example: I create and work on a project with multiple dynamic links on a windows machine. Later I open the same project on my MacBook, and right click the dynamic link > edit original. Change the composition in AE, hit save and boom! Gone.  When you close out AE you're in bad luck. It;s nowhere to be found. Workaround is to hit 'save as...'  I've read online multiple people running into this problem. This is a serious and known problem and needs to be fixed asap! 

 I tried to export a video and when it got to the end it failed because it reached a composition. Then i went inside of that composition and tried to export it but it kept saying Connecting to Dynmaic Link server. My export settings are the default Match sorce - high bitrate settings and I don't really see any problem with the composition itself. 60fps 1920 x 1080

 ExtendScript’s conditional operator resolves expressions in the wrong order. In the case of:true ? a : true ? b : c;I would expect it to return a, but ExtendScript actually returns b. This behavior is a major source of latent bugs in scripts. It urgently needs to be fixed. I first noticed this when injecting polyfills into legacy ExtendScript. Common minification plugins like terser convert if statements into ternary expressions. To avoid relying on polyfills, Adobe should either update ExtendScript to support at least ES2015 or fix this egregious bug.

I'm working with a customizable MOGRT created from an After Effects. The project contains multiple precomposed media placeholders (e.g., "media 01", "media 02", etc.), each precomp includes a solid layer with time remapping enabled. Hello I have a really critical problem: My After Effects Project just immediately being removed after quitting Ae. I lost everything I've done in the past several hours.Steps:1. Save everything in After Effects: The title bar does not have the "*" character. Everything is saved.2. Cmd+Q. Close After Effects. Done3. I finally updated to the 25.3 versions after Adobe finally fixed the scopes bug introduced in 25.2. Happy to finally enjoy the new preview and HDR monitoring features, After Effects was working pretty good.BUT THEN..I go to export my video in media encoder as I always have. When it finally exports, it's completely blown out! All my settings are the same as before! Color management is still activated. Encoding presets are the same I always use! This is what it's supposed to look like: Oops, AFTER EFFECTS CRASHED when I tried to to drag AE to my non-HDR monitor to take a screenshot in it.
