I am working on a project in After Effects v23.0. If I go to File > Save As > there are no options to save my project to Creative Cloud. I am only provided the option to save a file on my computer.  How can this be resolved? Thank you. 

Why AE is still in 2026 absolutely garbage and unoptimized? Why at more than 70$ moth is still full of bugs? Why rendering is still underusing the machine? Why adobe? Why dont you destroy the program and rebuilt from zero? Years, more than 12 years working daily with it and every day I have to FIGHT with the software, every day. Every day I discover a new tricky way to solve a NEW problem. 

Sooo, I am struggling with this animated logo I did for a client and they asked me to deliver a .WebM (which is a new type of file for me). Somehow it shows a grey outline to the animation which is not visible on the original .mov (pro ress 444 alpha). I tried multiple ways of exporting it into WebM but whatever I do it keeps showing this outline. How-the-hell do I remove this and make it a clean animation like the original?? I got asked for WebM by developers but open to any alternative if that's what it takes 🤓 Thanks! 

Am I blind or going crazy? It’s been a while since I’ve worked with non-square pixel footage, but didn’t the Toggle Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction button used to be at the bottom of the comp window? Where’s it gone? 

I am relatively new to AE, but havent had this issue before. I have a few files that simply crash when trying to open on mac. They get to about 40% (although that varies slightly file to file, but seem to be in that region), but then just get the spinning beach ball and they dont progress. I have a PC too, so installed AE on that and the file opens instantly with no issue. Resaved the file from the PC version, tried to open that on Mac but crashed again. I have tried;• Opening file from different locations on the computer• Safe Mode• Empty Caches• Reset Prefs• Uninstall, restart, reinstallBut nothing works. Baffled, especially where it opens immediately on PC, which would rule out file corruption. Files were all created on the same Mac that now wont open them.Any ideas?

Hi everyone,I’m having an issue with preview playback in After Effects. The composition starts caching normally, but when I play it back, the preview still stutters and some of the cached frames seem to be rendered again instead of playing smoothly.I’ve already tried lowering the preview resolution and clearing the cache, but the behavior is still there. The composition is not particularly complex either.Is there a Preview or cache setting I should check that could be causing After Effects to rebuild frames during playback?I found this related discussion about cached frames being re-rendered during Preview.

currently my project is just two solid layers and two text layers with no animation, my preview resolution is set to third. Despite this when I want to playback the project by pressing the space bar it just buffers/freezes and cant seem to play it back for me. I have cleared the media disk cache very often and even made it so it will use my ssd to store cache instead of my local drive? For context I have a macbook pro 2019 which I recently updated to Tahoe? its an intel core aswell which ive heard might not be good for adobe? as you can tell idk much and am not a tech person im just a graphic design graduate tryna develop my skills and get a job in this crazy job market.anyways, if anyone could help me figure out how to fix this/make my ae run a bit smoother it would be great thanks! 

I am using Advanced 3D to make an animation of a smartphone. The phone is a glb Model. Animation works fine. But when i use Depth of Field in the 3D camera, the model parts get slightly see-through. For example, looking at the back of the phone the front screen is suddenly slightly visible. This is not happening when DoF is turned off.Any suggestions how to fix this. I need DoF for this animation.So far the new 3D options in AE are pretty great and render fast, but there are still a lot of quirks and annoying things that don’t work or need complicated workarounds (no motionblur, not working with adjustment layers, etc.) 

Dear Adobe Support Team,I am currently developing a Premiere Pro C++ plugin. We are creating a plugin that is intended to be localized in Chinese. However, when modifying the PiPL file to define the Name and Category fields, we have encountered issues with using Chinese characters:If we set the Category to Chinese, the plugin can be built, but the displayed text in Premiere Pro becomes garbled.If we set the Name to Chinese, the project fails to build entirely.Could you please let us know if there is an official way to support Chinese characters in the PiPL file, or if there are recommended best practices to handle plugin names and categories in non-ASCII languages?Thank you very much for your assistance.Best regards,

So as you can see, in this particular project, the timeline is ghosted, when you mouse over it, some of the timeline comes back, then if you click elsewhere, the timeline vanishes again. I’ve deleted the cash files, no effect. The really strange thing is other projects do not do this, I get these random ones that just won’t load. You can enter text on the playback but you can’t select anything in the timeline. Vanishes as soon as you attempt to mouse over it. I am working with the latest AE 26.5. Any ideas? And don’t come back with add the comp to a new comp, that does not work and it’s a workaround.

I’m currently using an older version of After Effects available through Creative Cloud, but it’s lagging and crashing frequently. Sometimes, I’m not even able to work for 5 minutes without facing an issue.I’m using a 2019 MacBook Pro with an Intel i9 processor, and I’m facing performance issues with the newer versions of After Effects. I would like to install an older version, preferably from 2018–2019, so that I can work more smoothly.I don’t need the latest features or updates. I just want a stable version that runs smoothly on my Mac.

I’ve just upgraded to macOS 27 and, it seems, I can no longer debug a C++ plug-in I’m working on because Apple’s security blocks the debugger from attaching to After Effects. Specifically, I’m getting the following error:macOSTaskPolicy: (com.apple.debugserver) may not get the task control port of (After Effects) (pid: 5646): (After Effects) is hardened, (After Effects) doesn't have get-task-allow, (com.apple.debugserver) is a declared debugger(com.apple.debugserver) is not a declared read-only debugger LLMs recommend re-signing AE, but that does not seem to be a reasonable thing to do. I’m worried that doing so might trigger copy protection or break something. Not all issues can be solved by simply logging to files, so, what’s the suggested approach to debugging on macOS 27?

Hi, I’ve been trying to bring iphone clips into After Effects via Dynamic Link from Premiere (“Replace with After Effects Composition”).The iphone clips color seems ok before I bring them into After Effects:But after I click “Replace with After Effects Composition” - if my After Effects “Working Color Space” is set to None then it causes issues in Premiere and often I have to restart Premiere.If I set the Working Color Space to Rec 709 Gamma 2.4, then I don’t get an error message but the iphone clips show up extremely over-exposed and weirdly colored in After Effects:I imagine that that if I just convert the clips to Prores or something then I won’t have this error, but is there a way that I can avoid these error messages and issues without having to convert the clips to prores for every project I work on? iam using the latest updated After Effects, in the new updated version, iam getting a White block shape  appearing behind vectors in After Effects after importing from illustrator, and i cant attach  the illustrator work file here in the community post,

About 2 months ago I updated my After Effects from 24.5 to 25.5. Editing and all of that are working pretty well, but when it comes to rendering, it's super slow. When I was using the 24.5 version of AE, rendering was pretty fast, but now I have to wait over 10 minutes to render a short video of 2 minutes. I've tried multiple things: updating my drivers, clearing cache, enabling the multi-frame rendering feature, and none of these things did much. My PC specs are definitely more than good enough and it doesn't make any sense for render to be that slow, I'll list them below: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600K32GB DDR4NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Waiting for it to finish rendering is taking too much of my time away, if someone could help me with this problem that would be awesome, thanks!

Hi all, Bit of a random one that's bugged me for a while and I've never been able to figure out, hopefully somebody can help! I want to animate the scale of the characters in a text later but notice the achor point is always sitting at the bottom of each character (see image below, have circled the anchor points). I'd like to shift these achor points to the center on the text so the characters scale from the middle rather than the bottom, has anybody figured out a way to do this? Any help would be great! Many thanks!

Hello once again. Few days ago, I have come across a weird problem / glitch / crash that occurs that has never happened before. In an After Effects project that I am doing, I am planning on making the boomerang effect. Basically, I want to put slow-motion to a clip and then duplicate it, and reverse the duplicated layer, to give it an effect similar to boomerang. But something weird happens every time I do so. I want to give boomerang effect to different parts of a video, with the frame rate of 23.978. So in my first clip, I would pre-compose it, put twixtor pro to it (I put the frame rate of the video as it is in the twixtor, which is 23.978), then pre-compose again. Then I duplicated that pre-composed layer with twixtor inside it. I moved it right next to the 1st layer, and then I what I did was : right click > Time > Time-reverse layer. It worked perfectly fine. But then, I cut to another part of the video to make the boomerang effect with and also to put twixtor. So I did the

In After Effects, there’s an option called “Notify when queue completes” when rendering.But I’m not sure how to use it, especially to get notifications on my phone.I checked the Creative Cloud mobile app, but it looks like the mobile version has been discontinued by Adobe, so I can’t receive any notifications through that.Is there any way to make this feature work, or is there an alternative method to get a notification on my phone when rendering is finished?Thanks in advance!

Hi, really hoping someone can help me. Spent the last 4 hours trying every tutorial I can find on this and absolutely zero progress, pretty much given up.Essentially I want to create just the shape in the middle and ‘ripple’ out concentric copies so I end up with the full set of offsets. Ideally I want the shapes to be no fill/stroke but with a darker inner glow/shadow. The original shape is in Illustrator (although the image is created in Photoshop. Am assuming the best way is to create the glow/shadow effect in After Effects around the shape of the path?Everytime I try I can’t get a glow without a fill or stroke which ruins the effect.Has anyone got any suggestions?  I’m pretty new with AE although used Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign for decades.Start frame – still struggling to create this in AE (this is a PSD file just to show what I’m trying to achieve)Ideal End Frame 

I stopped using after effects for about a month, tried opening it and had this problem, not really sure what could be causing this problem, ive uninstalled after effects and creative cloud as a whole but that did nothing. Ive tried starting in administrator, deleting my preference folder, allowing all adobe software through my firewall. I cant really think of anything else to try so if anyone has any ideas please let me know, if you need more information let me know.Thanks   Title edited by Mod.

We always make animations in AE and export to .mp4.However, we'd like to learn how to import our AE project in to a software programme and export to .SVG (export to SVG from AE would be nice)What is the correct work flow for this task? And indeed, what is the correct Adobe package or other?Animated GIFs and .swf files aren't quite right.This is just for simple animated logos for the time being. On a transparent layer even. Are SVGs limited to line art?All help appreciated!Matt
