After Effects

6 out of 10 times Roto Brush 3.0 in After Effects 25.01 (Build 2) crashes the program, I don't have any choice but to Kill it from Task Manager and relaunch again, It crashes at 3 percent generally at the beginning. Restarting the program and doing it again does okay. My System is Processor AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor 4.70 GHzInstalled RAM 64.0 GBRTX 3060Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2 

I was editing a video and suddenly all the footage turned into these red and white checkerboard squares. I cleared the cache and purged everything, and I also ran the videos through Media Encoder and replaced them, but the issue persists. It happens all of a sudden — a moment before, it showed a warning about something it couldn't embed, and now all the footage looks like this.

Hi I've been using After Effects for many years but never had any issues. Just recently every one of my new files is fine on the day i create it. I can go back in and out with no problem. If i don't come back to them for a few days and then reopen, they are always corrupted. I get lots of error messages such as: 'File exists but couldn't be open for reading'Unable to open file''Conforming failed. Error code 1610153782' This is a nightmare at the moment as i have clients waiting on jobs and i can supply nothing. Any advice greatly appreciated. 

Morning Adobe.I've recently upgraded after effects 25.2.2 and a lot of plugins are not loading at start up. This only started with the lates 25.2 update. There doesnt seem to be a documented method for removing them and they all seem to be x86 binaries. I'm also having ghosting errors with the play-head leaving glitchy trails on my time line.  Mac Ultra M3 256GB running 15.4.1 (24E263) Many thanks Nick

I noticed that if file browser is in "List" mode, import files (even obj) is OK. But as long  as in "Icon" mode AE will crashed immediately. Anyone has the same problem?  I've been tried AE 2023~2025 and results are the same. Is this AE's problem or Windows??   AE crashed here

 like you can see in this screenshot, i allowed AE to use 16gb out of the 32 i have but it uses more than that,Furthermore, even when i go to edit clear memory and disk cache, there's nothing to clear as i havent launched a preview, i've only just opened my comp in AE and havent started a preview (i also have disabled "cache frames when idle").what's going on?Also my CPU keeps getting used at around 10%, still while doing nothing at all not a preview nothing.

Experiencing some serious UI performance issues after updated to 25.1 this morning. Reverting back to 25.0.1 seems to work fine. Using the most up to date version of After effects. Anytime I go to use the Brush tool, and Paint in my Selected layer, and Making sure I double click It and everything  The Brush seems to leave much lag behind my pen and leaves very inconsistent and buggy straight strokes, when trying to attempt to make smooth curves. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks  

Is there a way to get rid of this weird halo that appears when I use Lens Blur Filter with a Depth Map?The sharp areas should be in focus at the edges, but they show a strange halo, like if I'm using a fog lens.Even if the Z map has a good contrast between dark an white areas, the halo appears at the edges as if the subject was out if focus.

I am getting this error with multiframe rendering enabled. Renders fine with multiframe disabled. Never has happened to me prior to 25.2.2.    I'm on Windows 11 (24H2)Nvidia 3080ti (latest studio driver 572.83)Intel i9-12900K

Hi I am having an issue on Mac Sequoia 15.1 with After Effects 25.1.0 where After Effects hangs or crashes when importing certain movie files with .mov extension containing h.264 video.  It seems like a workaround is to rename the file with .mp4 extension, and then after effects behaves normally.  However, if I try to open a project saved on another computer which contains these problematic files (or saved in the past on the problem computer), the project will not fully open and I have no way of determining which movie file is causing the problem.  I have tried clearing database and cache, opening in safe mode, and disabling all third party plugins.  None of these actions solves the issue.  I have tried opening in older versions of After Effects on the same computer, and I get the same problematic result.  Is there a way to determine whether there is a codec or something installed somewhere on Mac that might be causing After Effects to be unable to im

Everytime I start After Effects it brings up this error. These are plugins I dont use any more and are not installed on my machine. How do I get after effects to stop showing me this error message?

Hello, I'm using the plugin "FL DepthOfField".In 1 specific comp, when I add it, the scene crashes (it's in like 20 other comps working fine).I've tried resetting preference, updating AE, updating the plugin, deleting the comp and rebuilding it.All of this, and it still crashes.Any ideas why?

Giving AE 25.2 a test drive and experienced two blue screen hard crashes within two hours when scrubbing timeline or scaling a layer.  I'm on Windows 10. I'm using an AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor with m.2 drives in a RAID 0 config, this is my 'cache' drive and I believe the source of the instability.  When changing my cache location a standard SSD drive the bluescreen errors stopped and was able to work for hours without issue.

after update received from Adobe and after effects suddenly updated 25v to 25.1 v - After effects view port or timeline working very so slow. for example to when I trying to move timeline cursor left to right or viceversa its taking time to move and also stuck in between.

I'm suffering constant crashes within After Effects, around 20+ a day and I'm desperate to get this sorted as I'm in the middle of a large work project.  Any suggestions would be really helpful.   Crashes usually occur when RAM Previewing or rendering, sometimes when dragging layers in the compsition window, or dragging layers in the timeline. I'm getting a GPU crash with AE 2025 using my Geforce RTX 2060 as well as a 2080 cards.  This does not reproduce with my RTX 6000 Ada card.  It also does not reproduce with AE 2024.  This GPU crash happens when i'm selecting random notification from windows or selecting slack from my windows task bar.   This was tested on Windows 11, using latest AE 25.  Repro Steps:Open up AECreate a new project with any media (I used a 1080 mp4 clip)Select slack from task barGPU freezes up and crashes  Actual Results:GPU freezes up for a min or so and then crashes Expected Results:GPU should be fine and slack should open

Hello!I need help to better explore the functionality of linking CSV files with After Effects projects. I have some projects that I need to render very often, the video design of these projects is exactly the same, what changes is the text information and in some projects I also need to change the backgroundcolor. With that in mind, I decided to explore the potential of After Effects template creation further and use a CSV file to change the text information and create some conditionals to change the background color according to what is written in the CSV file. This allows me to create these videos much faster and put to render directly in Media Encoder or using a .bat file to render it with aerender, so I don't even need to open the project. The issue is that for some reason in some videos the CSV information is lost in the middle of rendering and the video texts start to glitch and switch frantically between the information in the CSV file and the information tha
