After Effects

Well, Sonoma has really messed everythinng up with after effects and my plugins. I have plugins I can't upgrade to th enewest version without paying for it again. And the ones I use the most don't work anymore with sonoma and after effects 24 only woks with sonoma now, it sucks. Should I downgrade to big sur or ventura? will it even work? 

i have a puppet of a cat drinking from a cup  i finished the movement how do i move the ears the breathing make the eyes blink withour effect each other where i comp the layer the puppet tools carry over  please helppppp!!!1

HelloI've been trying to replicate a popular YouTuber's subtitle style. I made the project in After Effects and saved it as an aep file as a template and tried to open it in Pr as an editable layer. But I can't seem to change the font and the other layers in Ae project.Is there any way wherein I could save the Ae project in different editable layer styles(like in Ps) so that I can edit them in Pr?Attaching the screenshots of the Ae and Pr workspaces: Thank you!

Why am I seeing banding in my AE gradient but imported file of same shows clean - no banding. The gradient is from Figma. The output file to XD shows nice gradient... and the export from XD to AE is also nice. But any attempt to recreate the gradient in AE shows banding... 

Hii, I started using after effects a few days ago and when I upload a photo on full resolution from far away it looks fine but when I zoom in (the canvas) it looks blurry, at first it was fine but when I resize it and precompose it, it becomes very pixilated, I tried turning on the "for comp layer" star icon that I've read works but it doesn't work on my edit. When I render it, it looks blurry and pixilated, what do I do?

I work from mac with the operating system Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1, when practising with After Effect version 2024 in the shading of 2D objects, I wanted to use the Gaussian blur effect but it does not appear in the effects window. So to check I looked in the "effects" folder to see if it was there, and it is, but I don't know what to do to find it and use it.

I've been troubleshooting why my composition is crashing for the past 4 days. It crashes while its rendering with an error code 10.The composition consists of like 70 images in a row, with ken burns (pan/zoom) effect applied to them using keyframes. I tried Converting .jpg to .png, .tiff etc but that didn't make a change.Today, i disabled all keyframes (the pan/zoom effect) from the images, and the renders go through smoothly. Why would a simple effect with 2 keyframes per image cause it to crash?Thanks!

Warp stabilyzer fails to initialize and it doesen't work anymore. Major problem! Running on Windows 10, I had no problem with older versions.

Lorsque je souhaite enregistrer mon projet sur mon disque dur externe, un message d'erreur s'affiche : " Fichier introuvable : /Volumes/SR2/Projet/....". ( 3 ;; 0 )Je peux enregistrer mon projet sur d'autres disque dur externes et aussi directement sur mon PC mais ça ne fonctionne pas seulement sur ce disque dur. La solution provisoire que j'ai trouvé est d'enregistrer le projet sur un autre emplacement (sur le bureau par exemple) pour ensuite déplacer le projet une fois qu'il est enregistré. Hi, after using After Effects something that happens to me also in Premiere Pro, but less frequently, is that all my monitors suddenly go black and I'm forced to restart the computer with the reset button. i am trying to copy a path onto a position of a shape layer like in the tutorial below.Smooth Text Reveal Effect - After Effects Tutorial - YouTube 9:05 whenever I do this error message to appearsafter effects error: attempt to iterate a time stream with no key values. ( 29::34 )I imported my path from adobe illustrator and turned each one into a shape layer. i am fairly new to after effects. can anybody help me understand this issue?i am copying this tutorial step by step and can't seem to move past this point. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I'm having a bit of trouble figuring this one out. Hoping someone can help. I have a text layer with the animator "Character Value" being used. I'd like to attach a slider so that it toggles the character value to specific numbers. For example, using the slider, only these numbers "39, 45, 58, 61, 95, 96, 124, 168" will be appear or be input into the number field for "Character Value". Basically, with the slider, you can toggle and choose which value to use. I'd be very grateful if anyone can help. Thank you.Francis

We work on multiple movie projects at once. Each has their own required fps and color settings. I was hoping to have a javascript which checks and modifies this based on per-project presets. I'm attempting to render out a short video from AE (2 minutes 30 seconds) and I keep getting Error 26:165 Out of Disk Space.This is highly confusing because as you can see, my C:\ Drive has 320 GB free. I created a Cache folder due to the fact that I kept getting the "No Write Access" when I tried to use a Cache folder in my Adobe. It's pictured below on my C:\ Drive as "Adobe Cache Folder 2017"This should have been a quick job, fairly quick render and move on. But getting this Error 26:165 has really been a pain, I'm on my 3rd day of trying to figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My SSD crashed, so I had to reinstall Windows and Adobe Creative Cloud.  I just opened AE (2023.6) for the first time and I received two popup error messages stating the mocha plugin failed to load.  I rarely use Mocha, so it's not a big issue for me right now.  I just don't want these errors to popup every time I open AE.    I'm on Windows 10 with an AMD Ryzen CPU and NVIDIA GPUs. 

Hi everyone!Is there someone who could help me understand why when I have a 3d layer inside the composition appears different while I view it in the main comp? Thanks a lot, this is driving me nuts

I have one text box surrounded by two shape layers that look like brackets. The brackets are key framed to move from the center outward, revealing the text inside. I would like to create one controller, to adjust the end position of both brackets, so that I can change out the text at times and quickly reposition the brackets. I am having trouble with this, considering the brackets move in opposite directions. I don't need them to reposition automatically based on the text, but that would be an added bonus if there is an option for that as well.

Hi, i'm encountering performance issues even with very small projects. Preview & rendering speeds are fine, but the entire UI of the program is incredibly laggy and sluggish. Moving my cursor anywhere, selecting a layer, scrubbing the timeline - these things have about a second of delay. I am using After Effects 2024.I am on a machine with 128 gb of RAM, of which 42 are allocated to my AE, an i9 12900K CPU and an RTX 3090. I have tried the following:- Launching After Effects in Safe Mode, disabling all third party plugins- Disabling/Enabling Multi-Frame Rendering- Purging all Memory & Disk Cache- Disabling/Enabling CUDA GPU Acceleration in Project Settings I have attached a video file, the project shown only has 2 MB in size; the composition only has 13 layers. When in an empty comp or a new project (FHD, 24 fps), the UI is still weirdly sluggish and laggy - although not as bad as in a marginally larger project, I do not recall it ever being this bad before.&nbsp
