After Effects

Impossible to open import C4d projet. Ae2022 open it but not the last AE2023.I doawnload a new instalattion with c4d include. but nothing...

Trying to resolve a render hang on a composition within a project. All other compositions seem to go render out fine, this one hangs whether it’s media encoder or render queue – there is simply no progress – you hit go and nothing happens except the elapsed counter ticking away.Nothing awkward in the comp, one layer had particular but was switched off and I’ve deleted it. No footage, all solid layers with masks, couple of lights and a camera. Things I’ve tried – copying layers to a new comp, purge memory and disk cache, disable layer cache, ignore render errors, video rendering mercury software only, renderer Mercury only. The comp always fails to render if there is a light used, spot or point.

1. AE 23.12. MacOS Monterey 12.6.2 (though same issue on Ventura) on M1 Max 24c3. Since upgrading to 23.1 I've had an issue with collapsing open layer properties (U). The more layer properties open the longer they take to collapse, up to a few seconds. Reverting back to 23.0 solves the issue and returns opening and closing (UU/U) back to instant.4. Expected behaviour is instant open and collapsing.

These keyboard shortcuts do not work with an AZERTY keyboard because for several years now every time a new shortcut that uses the Shift key is added the same mistake is made. You translate the call of the key of the keyboard by indicating Maj instead of Shift in the file of shortcuts. (there is another place where you have also translated "(Esc)" into " (Echap)", you must not translate the names of the keys in the shortcut file, otherwise it does not work!)

A 1-minute video takes 24 hours to render. Seriously!

When we change the size of the composition the default camera is no longer in its default position nor in focal 50mm

When you copy a clip that has video and audio from a After Effects composition and paste it in a Premiere sequence, the video and audio are not linked anymore. Windows 10Premiere 23.1.0 / AE 23.1.0

“Adobe Media Encoder crashes could not write XMP data in output file”I been trying to export differents videos from after effects, and even tho the video is exported, they can't be open correctly. I already unistall and install after and media encoder. He estado exportando diferentes videos, y aunque el video exporta, cuando lo abro, no se puede reproducir. Ya desinstalé e instalé varias veces after y media encoder.

When I update After Effects, it seems to just install whatever Lite version of Cinema 4D it pleases. So what if I then install a newer, full version of Cinema 4D that I have licensed? Well, I import a C4D file into AE, open the Cineware options and change the path to the new version of Cinema 4D. So far so good.The problem comes later when I one day dcecide to delete the obsolete/outdated version of Cinema 4D because I no longer need that clutter. This is when all hell breaks loose, and Cineware no longer works. I cannot fathom why there isn't some setting to tell After Effects where my currently installed cineware.dll file is situated. If the host program is not smart enough to keep up with my program structure, why do I get penalised by not having the ability to redirect?Please could I ask that this feature be implemented, it would save a lot of frustration. Obviously if I'm being dumb and missing some hidden corner of the preferences window, I'd appreciate help.Thank you.

Hi all!I updated to v.23 and noticed this bug. I save a copy of the project with cmd+shift+s and if I press any arrow on my keyboard, the save window disappears. Have again press it cmd + shift + s and then the mouse pointer to the desired symbol in the title and then delete the desired symbol. This is very inconvenient. Also the Save as window itself is white, and my system theme is dark, the window is not optimized.Macbook Pro 16 1MAX, MacOS 13 (Ventura)

Hi, I have seen this issue in the forum a  couple of times before but could not find any solution for it. When rendering a preview for a simple .png or .exr 1280x1280 sequences comp, my GPU (RTX 3090), starts running at 100% for a while and getting no responds from AE. After a little bit of time after effect gives me the following message: GPU Effects Error.After Effects stop showing me any previews of images, videos or compositions. Switching to Software mode, does not fix that. I need to restart AE after which it can display video and images, but as soon as I try to preview a comp the same things happens. Running the project in software mode from the begining seems to work without any problems. I have updated the Nvidea drivers.I have done a clean install of After Effects. The stange thing is that up untill a 2 weeks ago I had no issues on this front. Previewing much more complex comps then a basic image sequence using only my 1080 ti. Then for no apparent reason

In the After Effects UI, the German tool tip string for the Mini Flow Chart reads as „Kompositions-Mini-Flussdiagramm (Registerkarte)“.The German noun „Registerkarte“ is the right translation for the English term “tab” when it means a tab of a folder or a row of tabs in the UI, not when referring to the tab key. In the latter case the correct translation is „Tabulator“.The value of _$$$/AE/Timeline/Tooltip/OpenMiniFlowchart_ in _Support Files/Dictionaries/de\_DE/after\_effects\_de\_DE.dat_ needs to be changed accordingly.Best regards

Hello everyone,  I'll report the issue first, and the troubleshooting that brought me to it in second place. There is a problem when you try to save a new AE Project into folders that have special characters. I work for a german company so it's not unusual that I have to work with folders with Ä, Ö and Ü. Needless to say I've been working on such folders for years now and never had a problem. Since I updated to Adobe CC 2023 and macOS Ventura I wasn't able to save NEW AE projects. If the project was old I could edit it, I received some errors though (3 :: 0) and (26 :: 32) but I could work on it. I spent some days trying to figure out where the problem was. At first, I try to save it in another drive and I didn't get any errors, so I thought it was the drive. I replaced the drive, copied everything and tried to save the project again. I repaired permissions, updated the system permissions for AE, formatted the drive, etc. and nothing worked. So at the end I dec

Ae crashes when applying Mocha [Ae] Tracking Data [Ae 2022 and 2023 Mac and Pc] constantly.The only solve for me at this stage is to Clear Mocha Cache [fully in appy] save, save Ae, generate tracking data, save again [Ae], apply tracking data and hope like hell it doesn't crash. Mocha Ae is my goto everyday and 99.5% of my tracking is solved with Mocha... this issue is costing me time and money! This wasn't an issue until Ae 2022+ If there is a solve pending I'd love to hear it.Many thanks Cheers, Rich

The Adobe Fonts Acumin, specifically Acumin Pro ExtraCondensed Bold will deactivate in AE, or won't activate at all. After Effects v 23.0 (up to date as of this posting) Windows 10. Font MissingI used that font throughout a project.The font is always active in InDesign 2023.The font worked fine in AE for several days.Then, the font began to not be activate when I opened AE, no other version of Acumin was active.The other active Adobe Fonts were still selectable. There was no warning about the font being missing (I'm not sure if AE gives warnings about fonts).The workaround was me loging into Adobe Fonts, deactivating the font, then activating the font (all with AE active), this worked for 48 hours, and several computer restarts.The text boxes where Acumin was used, defaulted to a serif font (seems standard for a missing font).Twice, the project displayed Acumin correctly, but a few English words substitued to non-English ie. ḋḊď. The above workaround stopped wo

Issue:I've been a power AE user for over 20 years and have never seen the interface this slow and unresponsive. Nearly every interaction takes 1-3 seconds to register, sometimes even longer. Zooming in and out of the timeline, slow. Moving keyframes, slow. Using any keyboard shortcut, slow. All slow regardless of project or layer complexity.  It's bascially unuable. Many, many others on here are complaing of the same issues. Our studio upgraded to 23.1 .. anything using H264 in our assets now plays back green in AE. We rolled back to 23.0 ... everything is back to normal.

AE v23 crasheds whenever opening a project created in AE v22. Immediately upon opening, I'm prompted that the project must be converted and the conversion begins, but AE then crashes & closes once the progress window gets about halfway through the conversion. It's stuck in a crash loop. Also, when opening a Premiere project containing an AE v22 comp, the project is unable to locate and relink to that file. When trying to locate & link the AE file in the Premiere media window, an error message appears that says the file must be converted to AE v23 to in order to continue. However, as stated earlier, the AE crash loop prevents this. My AE crash report is attached.

Hi Guys,  There is a Colouration Bug we have noticed when it comes to composition sizes. This has been been an issue for every MP4 / MOV we export. Most Noticeably MP4 Conversions rendered from After effects & rendered from Media Encoder. The Colour bug we noticed is anything exported at a Pixel height of 500px exports a different colour. However when we enlarge this aspect ration by 2x/3x it exports the right colour. PLEASE NOTE , Both exports are the same colour profiles, same colour management, same everything. We tried sRGB Setting, ROC 709 Setting, Exporting through AE, Exporting through ME,Exporting as a MOV through ME (fixed the colour but stretched the banner to fit 1920x1080) We exported put 600x500 & 1600x1000 on a 1920x1080 composition and exported which fixed the colour however when we take it into photoshop to crop the video to its original size (600x500 & 1600x1000) it saves out this off orangish again. So far the only thing

Discovered a potential bug today that will slightly boost audio (by less than 1 dB) when exporting through AE's Render Queue 'H264 - Match Render Settings - 5Mbps' Output Module preset. This resulted in clipped audio (hitting reds) in my final output. Audio was an unchanged WAV music track that was quite heavily limited (metal genre).  I was able to solve the issue by exporting the comp to ProRes 422, importing to a new Premiere timeline and exporting to H264. This gave me an H264 at 5mbps that did not clip. I expect this is likely due to mp3 compression, and may be known to low H264 bitrates, however thought it odd that the problem did not occur when exporting with the *same* settings and bitrate from Premiere. Note: I did not try to repeat the bug via Media Encoder (don't ask me why - was on a tight deadline and went on autopilot as there were a couple different variations of the export - Prem was quicker in this instance). 

Hi all! I'm having an annoying issue in this new version of After Effects, I usually remove CMD E shortcut (edit original) and replace it with a different shortcut I use within an AE plugin panel However for some reason, even after having removed "edit original" shortcut from keyboard shortcuts, it still activates "edit original" when I press cmd E. WHY?  I tried remapping edit original to something else as well, yet cmd E still does "edit original" How do I remove this shortcut if not in the keyboard customisations?

I have recently tried using after effects to edit some videos and apply, well, some after effects. Upon importing a 5GB MOV movie file, shot on an iPhone, after effects:Takes excessive amounts of time to import it and generate a preview. This is with JUST the video on the timeline. Memory usage during import peaks at 50GB (of 64GB system RAM), and/or;Freezes the computer entirely demanding a hard-reset (Windows 11 only). The performance issues relating to excessive timings is present on both Windows and Mac. Freezing errors are only observed on Windows 11. I am observing these results on some pretty capable hardware so thinks it's fair to assume the import timing issue is either a leak or an optimisation bug. Freezing a host computer is unacceptable for any production software.
