Did you know that there are actually three monitor windows in Premiere Pro? There are the Source Monitor and Program Monitor that everyone knows and loves, but there is also the Reference Monitor. We have decided to remove the Reference Monitor due to extremely low usage and awareness. In the ongoing effort to modernize our codebase and maintain the highest possible quality in the app, we sometimes have to say goodbye to old, out-of-date features. Don’t worry! We are NOT removing the source monitor. We are NOT removing the external transmit monitor capability (what most people call a reference monitor). Your AJA and BMD boxes will continue to function! We want to know what you think. Please join the conversation below.
We are excited to announce the first implementation of Content Credentials in Premiere Pro and Media Encoder! This implementation aims to support transparency about the usage of Adobe’s generative AI features such as (Adobe Firefly). Content Credentials are a new kind of tamper-evident metadata. They enable creators to add extra information about themselves and their creative process directly to their content at export or download. This information allows creators to receive more recognition for their work, connect with others online, and enhance transparency for their audience. Content Credentials are part of a growing ecosystem of technologies available through the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). Adobe, along with our 2500+ CAI members, is dedicated to restoring trust online by creating a standard way to share digital content without losing key contextual details such as who made it and when and how it was created. &nbs
Earlier this year we debuted Text-Based Editing in Premiere Pro which makes editing video as simple as copying and pasting text. We’ve been excited to see all the ways you’re utilizing this workflow to speed up your rough cut – and we’ve been listening to all the feedback. Now in Premiere Pro (beta) we’re bringing you some of the top feature requests so far: filler words, bulk actions (like remove all pauses), and multichannel audio support. (If you’re new to Text-Based Editing, check out our HelpX page or explore the workflow with Valentina Vee’s complete beginner’s guide to Premiere Pro.) Filler Words Text-Based Editing now allows you to detect “uh” and “umm” filler words, so your transcript is more accurate. Just like with pauses, you can click on a filler word and delete it from your sequence transcript. Because we serve an international audience, Filler words are language agnostic so that they work in all 18 languages supported in Speech to Text.&n
Premiere Pro users can now easily invite collaborators to their project to work together in the same project at the same time using Invite to Edit via the Share Button. When users invite collaborators from a local XML prproj (Premiere Pro Project file), the project will be converted to a Team Project and users can then add collaborators. Team Project users can use the Share button to add collaborators directly. Please use the Invite to Edit feature to add collaborators to your Project. We want to know what you think. Starting with beta build 23.0x25, Premiere Pro is expanding its alignment capabilities for text and shapes. This is what this change looks like: (How do I install Premiere Pro beta? In the Creative Cloud desktop app, select Beta apps in the left sidebar of the Apps panel. Then select Install for Premiere Pro. You can run beta builds side by side with the release versions of Premiere Pro.) Description: So far you were only able to align multiple objects (text and/or shapes) to the selection. For example, aligning three rectangles to the top, means two rectangles move to the same top edge as the highest rectangle. Like this: While this alignment might be desired in some cases, in others it is not. That’s why we are giving users more flexibility to align based on three different modes: Align to Video Frame Align to Video Frame as Group Align to Selection (this was the default behavior b
New in Premiere Pro (beta) you can choose to show markers in your transcripts in the Text panel so you can leave notes or place bookmarks in the transcript as you’re working! Give it a try and let us know what you think. We’ve added support for both source clip markers and sequence markers. Markers on source clips are shown when viewing a source clip’s transcript, and markers on sequences are shown when viewing the sequence transcript. However, markers on source clips are not shown when viewing a sequence transcript. To enable markers, click on the Transcript View Options button in the bottom right of the Text panel, then check the box for Markers. Your transcript will show extra line spacing even if no markers are present. Work is still underway on this feature, but here is what you can try so far: Add a single marker: Place your cursor somewhere in the transcript and use the Add Marker keyboard shortcut (Default: M) to add
Premiere Pro now has the option to keep the folder structure exactly the same as the OS filesystem when importing folders through import mode. Until now, Import Mode did not have the ability to replicate folders on disk as bins in the project. Import Mode would just import a flat list of files. In some cases, this may be desired, but in most cases, you want to maintain the organization from your folder structure on disc. Now we provide an option. Find this in the new “Organization” section in import mode. We want to know what you think. Please join the conversation below.
Distribute Spacing for text and shapes We are happy to announce that starting with beta build 22.4x3 we have added functionality to Align and Transform in the Essential Graphics panel: Distribute Spacing. While adding these two new buttons we also rearranged the other alignment buttons to make the UI less confusing. We are looking forward to your feedback! What does Distribute Space Vertically/Horizontally do? Distribute Spacing moves text or shape objects in the Program Monitor so that their edges are equally distant from each other. When distributing three objects horizontally, only the inner object will move, so that the distance to the outer objects is equally distributed. That’s why you can only use Distribute Spacing with a minimum of three objects. When selecting only one or two objects the buttons will be greyed out. What is the difference to Distribute Vertically/Horizontally? Distribute (Objects) moves t
I am excited to introduce a new feature that streamlines rough cut cleanup. You can now select all dialogue by a particular speaker in the transcript and quickly remove it from the video. This feature facilitates the removal of any irrelevant dialogue from your timeline, especially interviewers or other off-camera conversations in unscripted content. How it works In the Text Panel -> Transcript tab -> top-left corner, click on the Filter icon and select “Speakers” In the speaker drop-down menu, select the person whose dialogue you want deleted Click “Delete” Notes You can only delete dialogue on a Sequence/Timeline. Footage cannot be deleted from Source transcriptions. Make sure to rename speakers in your Source transcript since “Speaker 1” could be two different people in two different source clips. Feedback Does it work as expected? Is the user experience smooth with minimal clicks? What else?
New in Premiere Pro Beta 15.2, the Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect replaces the existing Clip Name and Timecode effects. This new effect takes advantage of our modern graphics engine and GPU acceleration for smooth playback while also offering an array of new types of metadata that you can burn into your video whether you need a simple watermark, timecode burn-in, or detailed attributes for high-end VFX workflows. The Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect can display 6 types of timecode and 20 types of project metadata. Apply the effect to a single clip or to an Adjustment Layer over your whole timeline. When applied to an Adjustment Layer you can set the Source Track the effect will read. Or, leave it set to Top Clip and the effect will use whichever clip is on the highest track. If you often need to display more than one type of metadata, you can apply another instance of the effect and then create an Effects Preset containing all your instances of the effect in one ea
Starting with the June, 2024 (24.5) release of Premiere Pro, Adobe will no longer support a native plugin for Tangent Control Surfaces. Tangent maintains its own Premiere Pro Plugin (“Tangent Extended”), which is installed by default when installing Tangent Hub software. The existing, built in Tangent Plug-in will be removed from Premiere Pro. If you are still using a Tangent device for color correction in Premiere Pro, download the newer Tangent Extended plug-in directly from the Tangent website here: https://www.tangentwave.co.uk/ If you already have the Tangent Extended software installed you will be directed to use the new Tangent Extended plug-in in Premiere Pro automatically.
Many of you have told us that you have a colleague responsible for correcting AI transcripts, and that you want an easy way to share the transcript and get corrections from them. Premiere Pro (Beta) now allows you to send the transcript to your copyeditor to make sure that brand names, lingo, names and titles are properly spelled and capitalized. Watch the video below to see this workflow: Open up the Text Panel and make sure you are viewing the Source transcript In the Overflow menu select Export -> Export to text file Save the text file and send it to your copyeditor for corrections When you receive the corrected file, save it to your desktop In the Overflow menu select Import -> Import corrected transcript Now you can use your corrected Source transcript to create a transcribed sequence and generate captions Try it out and let us know how it goes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYmdN-nvQkQ
With AI-powered Enhance Speech now in Premiere Pro (beta), you can magically remove noise and improve the quality of dialogue with one click, so it sounds as if it were recorded in a professional studio! We need your feedback to optimize this feature further through adding a comment below and completing a short survey. Here’s how to use it: Open the Essential Sound panel and select a clip containing speech in your sequence. Click on “Dialogue." Then, just click the “Enhance” button. When processing is complete, you can adjust the amount of enhancement using the Mix Amount slider. This slider allows you to mix your raw audio with the enhanced audio, allowing natural background noise to come through. What kind of recordings work well with Enhance Speech? Audio that is recorded with a low-quality microphone (phones, online meetings, on-camera mics) tend to be improved with Enhance Speech. It does not always work well with: Extremely very poor-quality
Update: this change was released in v25.1 of Adobe's video applications. Beta versions of Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder now include a major update to the technology that handles H.264 in MOV and MP4 containers. The goal of this update is to improve quality and make it easier for us to make changes quickly. Customers should also see performance improvements in three difference scenarios: On lower-end computers, customers should expect to see better performance of formats that are challenging to play back smoothly. For example, play back of 60 fps video from the Sony a7S III on a 8 GB MacBook Air M1 should be noticeably smoother. On higher-end computers, the update enables more tracks of video to be played back smoothly. On both computer types, export performance should be improved, particularly for complex projects. Support for HEVC / H.265 will be added in an upcoming beta. While this ch

We are excited to announce the addition of two highly requested features, Custom Watermark & Embedded Captions Support, to your Proxy workflow in Premiere Pro (Beta). Custom Watermark With this latest enhancement, you can now personalize your proxies with custom watermarks. This enables you to maintain a clear distinction between proxy and source media, enhancing visual clarity so you’re less likely to get mixed up. How Does it Work? To enable custom watermark, go to the “Create Proxies” option from your media and select the “Choose a file” option from the Watermark dropdown. From there you can upload any image of choice which you can then see in your media in the Source panel after it is rendered by the media encoder. Key Benefits: Visual Differentiation: Custom watermarks will help with clear identification of proxy-enabled media, minimizing confusion during the editing process. Personalized Editing Experience: Customize proxy watermarks provid
We are thrilled to announce enhancements to styles for graphics and captions! You can try them out in public beta starting with build 24.2x38. We are excited about your feedback! Let's explore the two key improvements: 1. Thumbnails for Reference: Easily reference your styles with the introduction of thumbnails. 2. New Style Browser: Navigate and reuse styles seamlessly with the all-new style browser. Styles Workflow Walkthrough: Creating a Style Create or Import a styles via the new plus button. Styles now appear with thumbnails in the Essential Graphics panel dropdown. Note: Graphics styles are referred to as "Linked Styles," while captions styles are termed "Track Styles.". This distinction is important, as for caption styles always apply to the entire track, while for graphics, styles apply to text layers. Create a style Thumbnails Updating a S
We got feedback from all of you that you want to change the length of pauses, since sometimes you just want to find the long moments of silence, and sometimes you want to find all the tiny little "umms" that someone says. (Thanks for all the survey feedback. If you haven't filled it out yet, it is here.) To change pause duration in the Transcript panel: Open the overflow menu in the top-right corner Select "Set pause length" Pauses can be as short as 0.1s or as long as 2.5s
We have added Norwegian (Bokmal), Swedish and Dutch to the Transcription Panel in Premiere Pro. Since I don't speak any of these languages I would love to know how well they are working for you. Please try some of your footage and let us know: What kind of content are you transcribing? (zoom call, promotional video, YouTube DIY tutorial, Netflix documentary...) Does it do better with certain dialects? If there are regional dialects that it doesn't handle as well, be specific about the names of the region, accent or dialect. How accurately does it transcribe numbers? (1984, February 1st) How accurately does it handle pop culture (movies, current events, famous people)? Will you use it in its current state?
Hi all, Now in beta is an updated version of the Warp Stabilizer. We've changed the way the analysis process happens by more efficiently processing multiple frames simultaneously to detect feature points. What this means is that you should get significantly reduced analysis time while still getting good quality stabilization results. Please sure your feedback with us in the comments. Thanks!

Parameters in the intrinsic audio effects including Volume, Pan, and Channel Volume previously had the time-varying parameter (also know as Keyframing) default to ON. This meant that the Timer icon next to the intrinsic audio effects was, by default, turned on. Any change made to the effect slider in the Effects Control panel resulted in Keyframes being added to timeline. This effected Volume Bypass and Level, Channel Volume Bypass and Channel Volume, and the Panner or Balance controls. As of today's Premiere Pro beta version, the default setting for time-varying (Keyframing) will be off by default. If setting keyframes for these effects is a regular part of your workflow, just remember to click the timer to on before you add keyframes from now on. This will not effect existing projects, only new ones. This change reflects customer feed back and also makes the Intrinsic audio effects behave like all other effects in the Effects Control Panel.

Track targeting just got a lot easier in Premiere Pro (Beta). You can select and target multiple source or target tracks by holding down CMD/CTRL as you click and drag the cursor across multiple track buttons in the timeline panel. Holding down CMD/CTRL + Shift while dragging will invert the targeted selection. This feature is available in Premiere Pro 22.6 x10 and later builds. Please let us know what you think! The new keyboard shortcuts are highlighted in green. Use CMD for Mac and CTRL for Windows. Turn Tracks on/off: CMD/CTRL + drag. Whichever action is performed on the first track — turning on or off — will be applied to all of the tracks during the dragging action. You can drag through any number of video and audio tracks while holding down CMD/CTRL to perform this action. Invert Selection of Currently Selected Tracks: CMD/CTRL + Shift + drag. Dragging the cursor across tracks that are already selected will selec
Now available in the beta versions of Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder is the ability to export H.264 in the .MOV / QuickTime container. Adobe's video applications have long been able to import and play H.264 / MOV and we are now adding the ability to export in this format. Look for the new export preset option, shown here: H.264 / MOV is useful for two reasons: 1. Some applications and services (particularly older ones) require the use of .MOV. One example is the PIX review system by X2X. 2. H.264 / MOV supports up to 32 channels of audio while H.264 / .MP4 supports only 2. H.264 / MOV can therefore be useful in creating proxies with more than two channels of audio. We'd love to get your feedback on H.264 / MOV support! Regards, Fergus
