Not at all impressed with Adobe Support. (NOT the community forum, the live repersenatives.)  First, they could not find my account when I called in, despite my having called in several times before.But my biggest issue: Their inability to solve my distorted audio issues. I recently installed Audition 2019. My audio was often distorted with drop outs. When I called in, they said other people have been having this issue. But they NEVER told me that my driver was in the wrong setting: It should have been ASIO, not MME. If you are using an interface, it should be ASIO. So, I have a feeling the reason many people have been having issues with Audition 2019, is due to this driver issue.  Update: Perhaps I did not make it clear that I was using an interface, because when I spoke to support today, they understood, and confirmed that the driver needs to be on ASIO, and buffer size at least at 512. So, I may have not been clear, 

How do I update to 64bit so I can use with OS? 

Hello - Here is a audio from a video I am editing that has an issue. First tell me what is the proper definition of the problem - reverb, echo... and then how to repair it using Audition.   Is there a web page somewhere I can visit that has a number of troubling audio clips and next to each clip suggestions for how to correct? For example: Ambient Noise, mouse clicks, reverb... I would just click through the audio files to understand what issues sound like then prescription for how to correct in Audition.  Thanks.

In old version of Audition CS6, there was a shortcut CMD + ~ to switch quickly between open projects, this seems to have been removed. Does anyone know if there is still a shortcut?

I have to record audio and upload it to an audio for distribution by an automated process. We have discovered that files that come to us with an OFL designation in the format fail the process and come through with metadata intact but a zero-length audio file. I can find very little documentation about OFL on the web and can't find ANY way to disable (or enable) this formatting in Audition.

I'm running Audition 12.1.4.5 on MacOS Mojave 10.4.6 (although this problem predates either of these updates). The computer is a beefy one, a top of the line Mac Pro (2013) with 32gb of memory. I'm editing a fairly simple podcast, with one voice track a small SFX track and a music track. No fancy effects on any of it, a parametric equalizer on a couple of tracks, and Dynamics on the voice track. Nothing complex, although I do have ducking on the music track. I get a 20-30 second beach ball on nearly every action. Simply clicking on a track, changing tools (razor to move or vice-versa), heck even click over to it just now to check the version. I get a 30sec beach ball. And the CPU is hitting 450+%, even showing as "not responsive" in the Apple Activity Monitor. It's almost impossible to be productive. The files are located on a NAS connected with gigabit network, and the caches are all on the local SSD. The Audition memory preferences screen shows 26gb available for Audit

Hello. I have a new laptop and I need to install Audition 3.I have a valid Licence and the CD for Audition 2, but this does not work in Windows 10. I do not have the email of the person who is listed on that Licence because he left a long time ago.  The Adobe Support Staff have been very helpful, and have verified that my Licence serial number is correct,and last year, one of the support staff was very helpful and enabled me to download Audition 3 without the email. I just need to do that again.I can send you the Chat Transcript if you like.The Support person told me that I can submit my request for the download and your team will provide me with a solution.  

I have a song which was recorded years ago that speeds up during the last third of the song. A click track was not used.  Is there anyway for Audiotion to fix this so that the song's speed is consistant from begining to end?

I have a bunch of clips that are from various source media files. For several important ones I need to find out when they start in the original source media file. Made up example: I have a clip that starts at (session) time 1:37 in the session, but it actually starts at (source media) time 52:41 in the original source media file that it references.  You can do this is Reaper by opening up clip properties (called media item properties in Reaper). See Reaper screenshot attached. Is there a way to do this (find the green boxed time) in Audition? The clip properties panel shows me the session start and end times, but not the source media start time.  One workaround I can use is to double click the clip in audition, bringing me to the Waveform editor. It appears that when doing this the playhead in the Waveform view automatically jumps to the corresponding time from the Multitrack view. However, I was hoping there'd be a faster way of doing this, as I need to record this

The sound in Audition is sounds as if I'm working behind a rock - very muted. When I bring it into Animate I sound like I'm shouting. How to I get the sounds to be closer to acutal.

I have connected my keyboard to my pc to record using Audition. However when I am recording I cannot here the sound. Its recording but I do need to hear the sound.

I used microphone A and did a speech recording at home, then I used microphone B to do another speech recording in the office.  Since they were from different hardware and probably the microphone to mouth distances were different, there was obvious difference between these two recordings in terms of the noice and the pitch.  Is there a way to merge these two rocordings so they can average each other out and give the impression that they were from the same recording?  

Hi, my name is Frank. I have a problem with my Adobe Audition CS5.5 I bought a few years ago. I had it properly installed and running on my iMac (late 2009). Now I'm preparing to move on to a new Mac in a few weeks. As I'm aware the new machine will not have a disc drive I wanted to copy the contents of my original AA install DVD to a SD card. However, when I was trying to do so my iMac ejected the disc immediately. It turned out the disc got a few noticable scratches so i guess this is the reason it is not readable anymore. So I thought, I'd simply got to the Adobe site, type in my serial number and would be able to download the installation files there. But unfortunately when I typed in my serial number to the input field and clicked the send button, it returned the message "An error occured." No statement as to why. Could it be, it's too late to enter the serial number of a product I bought years ago first time now?

How do set up 7.1 surround in Audition cc and what would be the channel assignments for the r and l rear surround channels.  may also try 7.12 . I only see the default for 5.1

I'm editing a podcast and trying to streamline workflow a bit. Let's say I have two mono vocal tracks and I'd like to Delete Silence (using the Shorten Silence setting) for both tracks at the same points on the timeline. Is there a way to copy and paste the markers set in the Diagnostics window for one track into the other track, so all the shortened parts line up and the continuity of the conversation still makes sense? Edit: I've found a couple different solutions -- If working with just two tracks, the easiest solution is to pan them each hard L and R, and bounce to a stereo file. Then Shorten Silence on the stereo file before splitting them back out to mono. For 3+ tracks, a more tedious but workable solution is to create markers for the sections to be silenced in the Waveform view, then export those markers as a CSV file. Then import them into the Multitrack timeline, group your clips and edit them out from there. Still, a simple way to apply Diagnostic setting

So I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but I've been searching for a solution and haven't found anything obvious. My issue is with Multitrack Mixdown when exporting for a podcast. I have Intro Music, Intro Narration, and Podcast Audio all in separate lines in Multitrack. All of these have been adjusted so the Total RMS is around -20dB and Peak Amplitude is -03.33dB. Everything sounds nice and flows together in Multitrack view. The issue is when I do a Multitrack Mixdown. Suddenly the Total RMS goes to -22dB and the Peak is at -0.16dB. I've included a screenshot with the Mixdown on top and the original podcast audio on the bottom for comparison.Ideally I would like for everything to stay at the same level when doing a Multitrack Mixdown. I can adjust the resulting file, sure, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something that will prevent Audition from screwing with the loudness and peak values in the first place? Thanks so much! 

Please note that changes to Mac OS Notarization, an installer and application security signing procedure, may cause older audio plug-ins or hardware drivers to be incompatible or fail to install with Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina).  This includes VST and Audio Unit plug-ins, or audio interfaces with custom driver software, whose installers have not been updated to implement the stricter requirements.  Plug-ins already installed during a Mac OS update may be okay.   If you rely upon 3rd party audio plug-ins, please make sure the manufacturers have indicated compatibility with Mac OS 10.15.  If not, consider installing any available updates prior to upgrading Mac OS, or postponing updating until those plug-ins are updated.   Sweetwater is maintaining a list of compatible hardware and plug-ins which you may want to review before updating.

Unable to switch to Multitrack Mode. Able to record/playback/edit in Edit Mode, but can’t switch to Multitrack at all. Suggestions?

Hi, in Pro Tools, it is possible to select multiple clips and apply a default  predetermined fade (in/out) to all of them.I would say that it's kinda the same idea as the "Apply default transition" in Premiere Pro. Although absolutely necessary, I cannot find such a feature in Audition... any idea, anyone?

Hey friends, I have been a user of Audition 3.0 for a long time now, with the occasional issue but nothing I couldn't fix.Now I am really in trouble. Last week, I noticed that when I switched from Edit mode to Multi-track mode, none of the display would change, and nothing else would function properly until I closed and restarted the program. This has been frustrating me for two weeks now, so today I uninstalled and reinstalled Audition.Big mistake. Now I cannot open Audition without seeing the message "Could not find supported audio device. Check device settings." There have been similar posts about this on this forum in the past, but none of them so far have worked for me. (I've also noticed that others have been having problems with multi-track; could this point to a larger issue with Audition 3.0?) I have been covering these forums but nothing has worked.  Please help, and sincerely,One Distressed Audio Editor

I'm editing dialogue in Audition and hearing distortion at some parts, even though it's peaking around only -3. My client had the remote recording done at a studio. The studio sent us a file that had an ITU loudness of -16, a total RMS of -20.00 db and a true peak of +0.77 db. The even numbers makes me think the studio normalized it before sending it to us. I normalized it again so that it has a total loudness of -16 and a true peak of -1 db. I also did two passes of DeClipper, both times helping to smooth out a few problem spots, but there are still others that are pretty ugly.  Adobe Audition build 12.1.3.0 Intel i5-4200U @ 1.6 Gh 2.30 Ghz8 GB RAMWin 10 Version 1809OS build 17763.737

Hi all,I hope someone can help me here.  I am having a major issue getting my headphones to work while recording audio.  I have everything connected.  I can record with no problem and can even listen to audio recorded in my headphones once finished but cant hear anything while recording.  I have looked at a bunch of youtube videos that aren't helpful because they all tell me to adjust my audio hardware which I have tried a dozen times with no luck.I should mention I am recording using a Tascam US 4X4 for my mics with a Behringer MicroAMP HA400 for my headphones.  I got it work fine in audacity but I like audition better and would like to use that going forward if I can get the issue fixed.  Please someone help!

I have a number of effects on a dialogue track. I like the way the effects sound on most parts of the dialogue, but there are few short parts that don't sound how I want them. Instead of trying to finagle the track effects so that they fit all parts of the dialogue perfectly, I was wondering if it's possible to bypass my track effects on a specific clip. Alternative solution: I know I could create a new track, move the offending clip to that track and apply new effects. However, this clutters up my session. I sent my sessions off to a team to work with and I want them to be as uncluttered as possible. I could use clip effects, but that (as I understand it) applies effects downsteam of track effects, instead of creating a separate FX chain.  Thoughts?

I need to edit a beep out of the audio in my video. So I right click and do "edit clip in audition". I proceed to remove the beep and it works perfectly. I save it.Then it doesn't update in premiere pro. From what I can tell, it's supposed to update automatically in premiere pro, but it isn't. Actually awhile ago it used to do this and then all the sudden it stopped updating. The same clip with the beep is still in premiere pro.So I think, ok, no problem, I'll just save the clip and manually insert it into premiere pro.I save the edited clip in audition, only to learn that it somehow got changed from stereo to mono.There must be some setting or something that I've accidentally clicked? How can I fix this? How can I get premiere pro to be updated with the changes in adobe audition? And short of that, how do I prevent Audition from converting my stereo audio clip into a mono one? (So if it doesn't update itself, I can manually insert it?)Thanks

Hello! I'm using v12 1 4 5 but this was also the case I believe in my previous versions. I want to be able to save a multitrack session including all the effects rack settings I have used - at the moment when I save and reopen the effects racks are still there and applied but all the presets have defaulted back to 'custom'. Really strange, I just want everything to be as it was when I next open up the project. I'm pretty experienced with Adobe Audition but I fear I'm missing something really obvious! Thanks
