Audition

Hi all, We've been running into a problem more and more recently that I'm trying to find an answer to, but can't, and was wondering if you could help. We do a lot of interviews and we have been getting a static click sporadically throughout the interview (maybe every 15 secs)  and I'm trying to figure out if it's the mic, the cables, the a-box, or the cameras. It's not a huge problem, they are easily healed away, but I'd like to know why it's happening and why it's seemingly getting worse. We are getting it on both cameras. Running two shotguns (Sennheiser MKH's) into two Red Scarlets W's via A-boxes. Both have these clicks.We also run a lav, but that's been clean. The good news is the clicks don't sync up. Is this just the nature of the beast? They look like a couple pixel hard red line that runs the extent of the Spectral Freq Display. I'm a self learned audio person, and try to find the answers online from other peoples questions before admitting my noobness to the masses, but

I was trying to record over a instrumental but I notice it plays fine when I play it by itself but when I play it with mic plugged in it says "dropped samples detected"I need help its not the beat itselfs and I tried on 2 computers in my house and it does the same thing (I don't know if it means anything but its an hp laptop and a hp desk top that was used)

A client requires that an interviewee’s voice be disguised in post production for a radio podcast.What effects do you recommend? Is it possible to make the pitch effect monotone by removing modulation?Does time stretch affect pitch?

i recently had to reinstall my audition cs6 and cant remember how to get rid of the default "crosshairs". i want the red vertical line to move to wherever i click on the screen. i can't where to change that setting. i also need it for highlighting

I use this program at work, and at home. At work, it never happens.  At home it does.  I purchased Adobe Audition CC each month. It works great. This issue I have works on my laptop PC or my work computer or my Mac...no matter where I use them...at this home or someone elses.I bought a new microphone and it does the same thing...so it's not the cables or microphone. I'll be recording and during playback I'll get a quick pop...I HAVE to go back and re record that part again. It sounds just like a quick pop. I don't know how else to explain it.I have a brand new super fast harddrive.  It still does it.I wondered if maybe I have something set up within the program that is not quite right, and is causing the system to temporarily choke?Any ideas?

Hi, something that is driving me crazy is, for certain clips, being unable to adjust a clip's volume without creating an automation point!  Sometimes I just want to move the entire volume line up or down without automating anything, but whenever I click on the line to do so, it automatically creates a point.  I wish there was something like in premiere, where you can switch to an automation tool when you know you want to automate.  Does anyone know a solution to this problem?  Again, it is only certain clips.  I don't understand the pattern.  Thanks

Hello,I recorded some voice over in Audition CC. I saved it last night as *wav. Today I opened them in order to continue working with them: mixing, equalizing, whatever... when listening to them I noticed the the tune of my voice is Lower! Let's say that originally was in "G" but now I heard it in F# or F. Hos did it Happened? I have some explanations:1. When I saved them last night, I moved something regarding the tune or speed, so they got distorsion without my acknowledge.2. It's more related to the monitoring. So, in the interface is something regarding the tune that makes the file to be heard like that. But, when I opened those WAV files with another player, they are still LOWER. 3. What did I do wrong without notice?I guess I have to record again everything! I saw the options of Effects > Tunes and timing >.. so, manually I can correct, but... if there is something that affects to all the files at the same time, I can try it. Otherwise, better record again. Suggestions plea

I am trying to export a podcast and everytime I do a mixdown of the entire session the file has saves doesn't have the interview or sound effects on it. It's just the music bed?What am I doing wrong?

I have checked Audition's settings, checked my Mac's system settings, and have ensured that no automation or effects are present in my editor, but tracks now export one octave lower and slightly slower for no discernible reason. I am not working in the Multitrack editor on this project, nor am I using a batch process, nor am I using normalization of any kind.Has anyone else experienced this?I'll leave this temporarily unanswered for now so that some Adobe employees can see it. I've discovered the cause of the issue to be exporting to Apple Lossless. I'll try different sample rates and bit depths, just in case, but simply switching to AIFF fixed the issue, and restarting Audition didn't change anything.

any idea why when i press mixdown entire session im getting a huge lag before it actually starts? the time it takes it to actually mixdown isnt long..it varies depending on the track. but theres a 3-5 second delay before it shows the mixdown starting. sometimes the screen will sortve blur out and ill get the hour glass like audition is about to crash and then itll start the mixdown. ive disabled all the plugins because i noticed the mixdown time and time it takes to start mixdown seems to take longer with them enabled. any ideas?

What do we do with that?

For months now I’ve been using the noise reduction process to cut on the AC/heater going in the background of my recording. i never had any issues until recently. Now when I apply it I can hear very loud clicks throughout my recording. The only thing I can think that I’m doing differently is I’m now using a USB hub because I have too many things going into my computer. Any ideas?

Actually i use Audacity to record live.But now i want to use Adobe Audition to edit and record multisession, because i think i will be possible to edit each imput separately .I've installed the Windows ASIOTM/WDM Driver on my desktop, but i can't see the input in adobe audition during the live.Can anyone help me or guide me some guidelines?Thx a lot for your help

I have the "Play Spectral Selection Only" box checked, but when i highlight a selection and press spacebar to play, it still plays the full range of sound. What other settings affect this? I'm using the most recent version of CC 2018 as of right now, this function worked for me in previous versions.

Audition 2018 opens with the following pop up. No matter which option I chose, it starts up and then the program closes seconds later. I don't know what to do. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but no luck. Please help

Need help setting up, adjusting and exporting 6 mono channels. These are various actors and boom mic on feature film. I need to do some basic level adjustments per channel and export properly so each mono channel opens on its own track in Premiere. The multi-track templates seem to require me adding each channel manually and am worried about sync issues. Am I doing it wrong? Thanks everyone

As I've mentioned before in these forums, I love how Audition's markers work: easy to use, portable, useful.Since these markers seem to be saved to and read from the WAV file itself, does anyone know or have experince with any iOS apps that can create markers that are readable by Audition?Please note that I am NOT asking for an Audition app for iOS, nor am I asking for an iOS app whose session files can be opened in Audition, etc. I'm just asking if there is an iOS app that can create and save markers into WAV files that Audition could then recognize. I need to load apx 18 hours of audio but it only takes just over 4:30:00 of it.  How can I load the entire file?

If I go to say add an exisiting track, or make a new track in audition... then want to hear it as I am adding a second track. The first track picks up in the second tracks recording. I cannot figure out how to make this stop. I have recorded this way a million times with audition in the past and never had this issue,

My laptop was stolen and everything's gone. Had Audition 3.0 for years - loved it - and am now using a laptop with Audition CC 2015, build 8.0.0.192 (I incorrectly called it 5.5. Sorry, new to me).Well. What a train wreck. Everything's different, and the manual is, as usual for Adobe, unhelpful. Couldn't find what I need on forums, either.1. The toolbar where I put my most-used favorite filters seems totally gone, and I see no way to add ANYTHING to that area. That just kills my productivity; I'm left with pulling EQ, Normalize, etc. from the drop-down EACH TIME. That's progress?2. I can't just click over to Multitrack or back to Waveform (why is it no longer called the more-correct Edit?) without it wanting me to create a new session! I don't WANT to make new sessions-- I want to go back and forth at will! I often want to test stuff or do quick temp things. I can't even GO TO the Multitrack to open an existing session without having to make a new one! WTF? This is profoundly stupid.3.

I have both 3.0 and CC installed on my laptop, running windows 10.. I have my sound going through an alesis USB mixer... Everytime I try to record a second track, it keeps picking up the first as well in the back. I have used audition many times this same way on old computers and never had an issue.

Hi all,I can't seem to open Audition. It crashes in a few seconds after I try to start it.I have not yet been able to open Audition at all since I installed Adobe.It always happens when it says 'Initializing (AuBackend)', but Googling it didn't make me any wiser.What I tried to get past the crash- Tried running the program with my soundcard turned on, off, enabled, disabled, disconnected, connected to different USB port. No difference whatsoever, the program always crashes.- Holding down shift when starting the program. No result.- Deleting the preference folder located in AppData\Roaming folder. No result.- Creating a "Audition Log.txt" file. Audition doesn't write to it.- Reinstall Audition. No result.- Installing older version (Audition CC). Crashes on starting up as well. (on: "Initializing Required Application Components... When I try to merge clips together sometimes they stay in their original form. Which is what I want. But other times, it smashes the sound and it's no longer in it's original form. It seems completely random. I can't figure out what I do when it works and when it doesn't work. I can't spend hours editing the audio just to have it ruined when I try to merge clips, so I try and try and try until it works. But it's extremely frustrating and time consuming, and still seems random.

Hey all, My Audition was recording fine just a few days ago and I’ve set up today and created a new file in waveform - pressed record and nothing. It doesn’t give me an error - it's just not receiving input apparently. Audio chain seems ok (mic to audio interface (Scarlett 8i6) receiving signals as normal, audio interface to Audition maybe not normal?). I haven't changed audio hardware or channel mapping. Just no signal/waveform/input. I can pull up previous audio and listen/edit as normal - just can't record.If I change audio hardware to built-in input and output on my 2009 macbook pro then AU receives input and records normally.Based on this, I'm thinking either the USB port (although it doesn't record through either of the two USB ports on the Mac so seems unlikely that both would be bad), or perhaps the USB cable from audio interface is bad - but that too seems unlikely because it is a high quality cable and is in a fixed location so it's not subject to bending etc.Cables and audio
