Audition

I begin recording in the Multitrack and 5.5 insists on saving it as a .wav file.  At our company we only record at 320Kbps, 48Khz, Stereo .mp3 files.  How can I change the default in 5.5?

Hi All,I'm considering switching to Audition as my full time editor because of how great I think the current workflow is for markers. (I work with interviews, so being able to log the time and then see those sections when I move over to multitrack editing is truly great.)However, before I do this, I want to be totally clear on how markers are saved and how they work, and I can't find this information readily available. So sorry of this is a n00b question, but:1) Are markers saved to the file itself, or to that sidecar .pkf file?2) In either case, does file renaming affect retaining markers?What I'm really hoping I can do is keep all of my original raw interviews in one place and drag their marked sessions into various multitrack projects as needed.Any insight here would be much appreciated.All best,Craig

Today when I opened my Audition project to continue mixing, my clip waveforms all look like the attached picture.  Is there a waveform image cache in Audition I can try to toss and rerender?  Other suggestions?  The audio is there when I play through it.  Just can't see the waveform any longer.Thanks.Don Hertz

Hello,I believe that Audition upsampled the .wav files during an analog multitrack transfer due to Windows resetting the interface sample rate. I had Audition sessions set to 32-bit float/96kHz, but frequency analysis shows the cutoff to be nowhere near the Nyquist level of 48kHz. In fact, the cutoff is between 24kHz-25.5kHz, instead of 48kHz:Is it going to be okay if Audition actually did upsample the incorrect interface setting of 48kHz to the sessions' 96kHz rate? Will I have to retransfer all of the analog multitracks?  In a nutshell, it appears that I have 96kHz files containing 48kHz information.Thank you,Eric

I have a podcast with 2 co-hosts, 3 people in total. I have an XLR mic and a mixer that goes into my PC. My co-hosts have an analog mic and are both in 2 separate locations. We record on Skype and it goes through my mixer into 1 audio channel.Is it possible to record the 3 of us on 3 separate channels using Skype as well as multitrack in Audition? The ideal situation would be to have 3 separate channels on the multi-track for myself, 2nd mic, and 3rd mic. I'd want to record all 3 at the same time. Am I missing equipment? Could it be my settings? Is this even possible? One solution is to record my audio and they record theirs separately on Audacity or some other program and I sync it up in post-production but it'd obviously be easier if we could record them all at once in 3 different channels.

Hello,I've been recording directly into the multitrack editor in Audition CC for my podcast. I have no effects applied to the channels I'm working with while recording except the Multiband Compressor and Parametric Equalizer that was automatically applied to the master. I've been using a Mac with an AudioBox USB for an interface (with phantom power on), Shure SM58, and Audio Technica AT2020. The computer is a MacBook Pro, with a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, and Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB Graphics running High Sierra version 10.13.1 and Audition CC build 10.1.1.11.  It's been working great until I tried to record a segment with just one mic-the Audio Technica, and it resulted in a choppy and echoing mess in playback. Anybody running latest Waves V10 plug ins with Audition CS6 on a mac running El Capitan ? 

I have a group of clips on two tracks that I want to move within the multitrack view. They move as a whole, but unsync from one another when snapping to other clips. These have all been razored collectively, there is no reason for them to not snap together. Turning off snap to ruler helps a bit, but it still doesn't work. Why is this a feature and how do I turn it off?Grouping doesn't help. It should, but it doesn't. The top clip seems to snap correctly, but then the bottom one is still free-floating.

Hi everyone, I had a lot of interview clips with heavy background noise that I'm expected to get rid of as much as possible. I downloaded Adobe Audition less than a week ago and have been struggling to achieve the desired effect of noise reduction. Often I am left with an underlying electrical sound. And when I try to get rid of it, the speech becomes really unnatural. Buongiorno, seguendo la guida ho creato un preferito per Audition CC 2018 per una serie di procedure batch che utilizzo molto frequentemente.Ora però vorrei sapere dove viene salvato questo preferito su un pc Windows 10 e come si chiama il nome del preferito salvato!Mi serve saperlo poichè, in caso di riformattazione, posso copiarlo all'interno della posizione in cui deve stare, senza doverlo ricreare da zero!Vorrei inoltre sapere se tale formato è compatibile anche in caso di Audition utilizzabile su Mac, oppure se è vincolato al sistema operativo!Grazie e spero di essere stato chiaro!N.B.: Nel caso fosse necessario, posso tradurre tale messaggio in inglese!

Hey guys, I've been looking all around the internet and forums but apparently nobody has this issue, hope someone could help.I scan for VST or VST3 plugins and AA CS6 detects all of them except for TrackS 5; although the plugin names appear while scanning when the process finishes they don't appear on the list, not even with "not working" warning.I installed a previous version and works just fine (TrackS CS) Also tried installing on AA 3 and had the same result.Please someone help me!

Hello...This is a weird problem that just started happening today.I have been mixing a movie in 5.1 for over a month now and today when I opened Audition and started working, playback is only coming out in my Left + Right speakers. The meters show my mix in 5.1 as usual but what I hear has me 'flying blind' while mixing and editing.In Audition, I have tried re-setting the audio hardware and mapping to the normal 5.1 setup I have been using all along (WASAPI) and all of the routing looks right on screen. When I test the output of the soundcard and my amplifier with the Windows sound setup test app all of the speakers show up correctly in 5.1.I also tried re-booting the program, re-booting the PC. When I play my exported 5.1 file in VLC media player it plays correctly in 5.1.I did not perform an update, either.This problem is absolutely driving me insane and it 's beyond me what could possibly have happened.Any ideas?thnxDanny

Using CS6 V. 5.0.2, build 5 on a Mac Mini (Late 2014), 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3, 8 GB Ram.I bought two new plug-ins from Waves ... and when I went to scan for them, the Audio Plug-In Manager didn't do anything - it brought up the "scanning" window, but it just sat there. And now, I have NO plug-ins, whatsoever. Not even the basic ones that come with the program. I've reset the scanning folder options to "default," and unchecked the "rescan" option ... nada. It sits at 0% and eventually crashes. (All Waves Plugins are all working fine on Audacity, ironically enough.)

My dialogue panels are not showing up. I am on a MacBook pro, High Sierra. Example: For some reason when I click Effects --> Noise Reduction, nothing shows up. The usual window that pops up to allow for noise reduction is not visible. I have found if I click View --> Multitrack Editor, when the multitrack session dialogue box shows up, the Noise Reduction pane will also appear.When I am in the multitrack editor, I can click something like "match volume" and nothing appears. I am assuming it is doing whatever the other panels are doing. What is going on? How can I get these panels to show up like they should?

Searched forum..cldn find answer...how do i snap the marker back to the original spot playbak started instead of it stopping where i stopped playback..i know the snapping options is in the edit section..but what do i hit? Usually i just hit enabled when i need to line up clips correctly...but that doesnt do the snap to original startig point.

I am currently experiencing a big issue with Adobe CC (Audition) constantly crashing,this seems to happen as the system auto saves or not long after I manually save my multi track work,sometimes even at random times,even worse when the system is re stored it is not saving the last stored work,it goes back almost to the opening workflow.I have just installed the latest version of Adobe CC (Audition) on my brand new Mac which is running Mac Os High Sierra Version 10.13.14I have operated this software on my old Mac without any issues,can anybody please help me with this issue.Stephen

Hey what's going on y'all? I just bought a Behringer X Touch in hopes that I could control Adobe Audition with it. I have the Behringer X Touch plugged into the power outlet as well as the usb port. I literally don't know what to do at this point. I played around in the control surface section of the settings for a second to no avail. I tried to select a few things but I was unable to figure out how to get anything to work. So basically I need help. I looked through the forum and nobody seems to have explained this properly. Can anybody help out?

In scanning this forum I saw a similar crash at the same offset in ntdll.dll with the same 0xC0000005  error.  I'm running windows 7, sp 1 on a 64bit machine with  8 gb of ram. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I do find it interesting that two versions of Audition CC (2017 & 2018) and After Effects CC 2018 all have this problem.I have Audition CS5.5 running on the same PC without this error.  I need to move up to a more recent version so I can get WASAPI support. Hi,about a month ago Audition stopped playing files. You can load them, they show the wave form, but will not play.  At the same time the computer stopped playing audio. Again, they show up in whatever media player and this time appear to be playing - but there is no sound. Even in premier, the graphic says noise is being made, but there is no sound. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled the Tascam 122ii countless times, indeed, I even bought a new one, but nothing happens. For most audio playing it's almost as though the speakers just weren't plugged in (they are, of course), but the fact that Audition refuses to even appear to play files suggests something deeper. Any ideas?

We replaced a Z210 i7-2600 with a Z600 and dual Xeon processors.  The user is reporting that processing effects on single and multi track sessions are taking 2 times longer on the new machine.  Is this to be expected?   Is there something I am missing about Audition not taking advantage of the second processor?The Z600 is running windows 10 1709 with 24GB of ram and an SSD.Audition build is 11.1.0.184

I'm working on a project that requires adding a few hundred sound effects to a feature length doc.  I'm fairly new to Audition so am curious what the best workflow is as the one I'm trying to use seems cumbersome and I realize that could just be related to my inexperience with the software.From what I can tell, there are no bins in Audition.  That's not ideal, but I can organize at the Finder level (on a Mac) and drag and drop in from there.  My biggest issue is that there doesn't seem to be any good and fast way to mark an in and out on an audio file before adding it to the multitrack.  Is that accurate?  At the moment I've created a scratch track in my multitrack and am draggin each effect there, then trim it down, then drag it to the track its supposed to actually live on.  That's really slow.  I tried loading the file into the waveform editor, trimming it down there, and then adding it to the multitrack, but that seems to be destructive so if I de

Hello,I am a fairly new user to Audition and would really appreciate any help on this issue regarding the audio I recorded. For a recent wedding I recorded, once I imported my audio (captured through a microphone recorded to the GH4 audio jack) I hear this recurring audio beep that is constant through the audio track. Every 5 seconds or so, I hear this beep and it is very distracting.Besides using the auto-heal tool on each individual audio beep, what are some recommended tools I can use to automatically remove these many beeps? It would take far too long to manually auto-heal each audio glitch during the ceremony and many other clips recorded. I also tried to learn the sound model on each of these audio glitches, but it cannot fully remove it.Attached, you will find a picture of the waveform that I see in Audition.Thank you in advance for any help,Kyle

Hi All.Recently upgraded to CC. When I open a previously saved multitrack, alter it with new material and then save the multitrack in a different file (same hard drive) it's now saving another copy of all the files used in this multitrack again - within this new folder, rather than simply reference them from their original locations?At this rate, I'm going to run out of space with all the duplication of files in no time?Help?

Hi - haven't been here for a while, quick one.Over the last few weeks I've noticed my iMac has started loosing sync of the playback head to the audio playing depending on how zoomed in I am. So it'll look like it's playing a quiet section for example when it's actually playing something away from the playback head. I change zoom position and sometimes it then gets it right. Easiest explanation is this super quick video. It's a transition in a dance mix so quite obvious if you look at the playback head shifts.
