As of After Effects 2025 and 2026 Beta, plugins are still unable to draw any custom on-screen UI at the native resolution of most Mac displays, in HiDPI aka Retina resolution. Steps to reproduce:- Install FxFactory 9 https://fxfactory.com/download/ - Launch FxFactory and install FxFactory Pro (trial version OK)- Launch After Effects and apply the Trackable PiP plugin found under the FxFactory Pro Video category:trackable-pip.jpg- Select the effect name in the inspector to display its custom on-screen UI:header.jpg- When the on-screen controls appear, notice how pixelated they appear: onscreen.jpg- This is especially obvious in the row of buttons displayed below the image. It is 2025... I’ve been experiencing an issue where my After Effects artboard freezes or stutters when I try to pan/drag around. This problem started after I formatted my PC to install a new SSD and liquid cooler. After reinstalling everything, the issue suddenly appeared.Adobe support connected remotely, and I also exchanged emails with AMD support. Adobe tried reinstalling the program, adjusting memory settings, and other fixes, but nothing worked. Today I even upgraded my RAM to 32GB, but the same issue persists.I was able to use After Effects perfectly before, so I have no idea why this is happening now.ChatGPT suggested the problem is caused by a known issue:Windows 11 + AMD GPU + After Effects = HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling) bug.Apparently disabling HAGS fixes the stuttering, but in the latest Windows update I no longer have the “Graphics settings” section in the system settings. As we all know, After Effects is in serious need of fixing. This is happening daily now, tools in my toolbar that I’ve installed either disappear or trigger this error: “Unable to execute script at line 0. After Effects error: Cannot run a script while a modal dialog is waiting for a response.” This never used to be an issue. I’m on version 25.5.0, but the software continues to be unreliable.What can I do to sort this out?

In Short: Limited ability to locate an instance of an asset in the project Since when: this has been going on for years in After Effects on Mac.Situation: Select any object in the Project panel, and next to the preview icon at the panel's top, click the dropdown menu to see a list of all the instances where the object is used throughout the project.The problem: this list is greyed out, you can't click any object on the list in order to see its instance in the target composotion.Workaround: attempting this and then switching to another application and immediately back to Efter Effects, makes the list clickable.Problem with workaround: this solution is temporary and needs to be repeated every time I click the menu. thanks!

After Effects simply will no longer render now.I set the queue and file paths, all of that works fine.  Hit Render -- Nothing happens.  Also this is the worst timing possible.  The rendering was working completely fine earlier today and then for no clear reason it stopped working. MacBook ProApple M4 Pro48 GBI closed and restarted, reset preferences, then I was able to view the comp.  Then it simply stopped working again.  I have a bunch of precomps I was going to pre-render all of them roughly 737x246 so there is no reason why this shouldn't work.  Rendering them out as Quicktime 4444 RGB+Alpha.What is going on with After Effects, I have never ran into more issues in my 20 years of using this software than the amount of brick walls that I have run into this year.  What am I paying this company for??  Higher cortisol levels, come on man..... Please assist.

HelloNot sure if this is new.I have a hundred layers using SampleImage to set scale from a map layer precomp.One of the layers had its expression disabled.I replaced the map layer by alt dragging  with a different precomp, and the expressions updated.They did not update on the layer with the disabled expression.This is also the case if thereference layer is renamedHas this always been the behaviour?Can I highly recommend it is changed?!Disabled expressions referencing a comp layer should still update when renaming or replacing the reference layer. Tris   

Then F9 key does not trigger easy ease, if you look in the shortcut panels, the shortcut is in grey. I have tried to change system setup, i followed other tutorials but nothing done. F9 is still unavailable. I'm on a mac book pro, Tahoe 26.1 (25B78), after effects 2025thanks

Hi ! I am developping an After Effects / Premiere pro plugin with the After Effects C++ SDK. My plugin effect evolves dynamically throughout the sequence duration. The entire point of this effect is to be able to animate the parameters. My issue On Premiere Pro, everything works well until the effect is applied to an Adjustement Layer and I try to animate the parameter. When I do so, the plugin will take the first value encountered at the first frame of the Adjustement Layer, and will use it for the entire sequence. I investigated a bit and realised that the issue was coming from the PF_OutFlag_NON_PARAM_VARY flag. I used this flag initially to make my effect work with still images, as recommanded in the documentation. Without this flag, everything works well, but for still images, the plugin would use the first value encountered by the image sequence for the whole sequence. To summarize :- With the flag, my plugin works for still images, but I can't anima

Hello,I am getting an error when enabling Advanced 3D in After Effects. I have spent the whole day trying to fix the issue and have tried all solutions I could find online, but nothing helped.My PC fully supports Advanced 3D:RTX 3080 / AMD Ryzen 7 5700XWhat I have done so far:1. Completely uninstalled all Adobe applications from my PC, including cleaning the registry, caches, and all leftover files.2. Replaced the NVIDIA Game Ready driver with the Studio driver.3. Tried all possible settings in After Effects, including a full reset of preferences.4. Attempted to run After Effects without any plugins or third-party scripts.Please help me resolve this issue. Problem: Shift + arrow keys to nudge footage is inconsistent in values depending on zoom. Zoomed in moves a fraction, whilst zoomed out moves 10pxSteps to reproduce:I was in a comp scaled 1080x1350.Inside the comp i have a pre-comp with continous rasterization scaled at 70%. the scaled comp has a resolution of 1920x1080.If i am zoomed in quite a bit like 400% it moves the composition layer by a fractionIf i am zoomed in at 50% it moves the comp layer 10px. making nudging with shift + arrow keys inconsistent.there's no further documentation stating that this is the intended way making this a potential bugAfter Effects 25.5.0mac os 26.0.1 (25A362)Apple M2 Max

When updating the contents of a dropdown menu via scripting (using .setPropertyParameters), the name of the effect gets reverted back to whatever name it had when it was created (which is usually 'Dropdown Menu Control').

Since updating apps last week, any Illustrator files imported to After Effects include duplicates of each layer that are blank 1x1px. As they also duplicate the layer names, this leads to layers "disappearing" later when reopening/editing files as they've re-linked layers to these "blank" layers.

Every time I start up After Effects I'm getting the 'disc cache full' pop-up box (see screenshot) - yet my cache is empty and my hard drive has space on it. Screenshots showing that my disc cache is set to 92GB and my hard drive has 220GB of free space.

When you use * or / operators to change a locked scale property, it only changes both dimensions if you type after the current value. It changes only the dimension you're editing if you type it in place of the value. so: [100*2,100] = [200,200]but: [*2,100] = [200,100] If this is an intentional feature, it's confusing because it only does this for * or / , not + or - . (ie. [+2,100] = [102,102])Common Use Case: When working in a resolution different from source artwork (eg. 4k vs 1080p) it can be useful to tab through properties to affect both position and scale of a layer, like selecting X Position and then typing  *2 [tab] *2 [tab] *2. When attempting this workflow, this bug causes the resulting scale property to be [200,100] vs the intended [200,200]. Recommended Fix: When locked, all mathematical operators should affect both dimensions of a scale property.

The latest version of After Effects freezes up my intel iMac. I have to switch off and restart the computer as everything - even the mouse - freezes. I've never had any issues at running AE on this machine before nor in the many, many years I've been using it. It's driving me crazy as I can't do any work with AE. I don't have any 3rd party plug-ins installed so that's not the issues. I don't have any issues with any other software.My iMac spec is 3.8Ghz 8-Core i7, with 128GB RAMI'd be grateful for any solution to this? 

I recently updated my Premiere & After Effects to 25.6. I would normally duplicate my footage in my sequence on the above layer, then right click and click "Replace to After Effects Composition." Normally, it would place the footage in the After Effects software, but now it doesn't show it at all. Is there a fix to this?Photos included.  

I am facing a serious issue with Adobe After Effects. As soon as I open my project, After Effects starts hanging and becomes completely unresponsive. Along with the software, my entire PC also starts hanging and I am unable to do any work. Please help me resolve this problem as soon as possible.

Hey everyone,Since this morning I’ve been encountering very unusual problems with my After Effects, Premiere Pro and parts of the Illustrator UI (haven’t tested any other apps).Whenever I select a panel it immediately looses focus and deselects itself. Unable to search or input values on layer properties within the current build of After Effects. Every time I try to select an input text bar (i.e. search bars, input value boxes, etc.) it immediately cancels out, not allowing to type. Search bars and input text bars work when panels are un-docked but within the workspace. I've tried:RestartingReseting PreferencesRe-installing After EffectsReseting WorkspacesUn-installing pluginsUnfortunately the problem still presists, has anyone found a fix for this?

issue with aftereffects UI displaying on a pc, 2024 works fine, installed 2025 and this is ewhat i see, the preview screen works fine, the rest of the UI is doing this, if you randomly click in the screen you can see that everything is there you just cant see it.   

I cannot activate any numeric fields by clicking on them (Position, Rotate, Opacity, Scale, etc.), to type in numbers — only scrubbing changes the numbers. This issue happens in all projects, in new comps, and even in a fresh user account on macOS.Prefs reset, workspace reset, Safe Mode (no plugins), and rolling back AE don’t fix the problem. When using After Effects I'm unable to use dropdown menus to change things like quality, size of my composition on screen, and other dropdown menus I have from scripts. The dropdowns are still there but when I click on them nothing happens. I do have third-party plugins/panels installed and I am on Windows 11 24H2 with a Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6600, and 24gb of RAM.

Meu After e meu Photoshop estão com esse bug, ao clicar com o mouse em algumas áreas, simplesmente não abre e fica bugando o clique. O bug acontece apenas nos aplicativos, no computador, navegador e outros problemas não acontece, estão normais. Tenho todos os drivers atualizados, tudo atualizado.
