Have a problem when open AE project with mp4 video - it is shown with incorrect size (1088 x 1920 instead of 1080 x 1920). Also it looks 4 times smaller than it has to be and the rest of it's area filled with strange lines (on the screenshot). It happens on laptop Asus ROG Strix G18 laptop. On another Device (PC) where this AE project was created it is shown fine. I always have to convert MP4 files to MOV and then everything is ok. Need help.

Hi how are things? I am having a very strange problem with After effects, I cannot enter my project and I get this error, I did not find current solutions, all the information is old and useless, please I need to fix my work

After switching to the newest version of AE the program was set to Chinese. I couldnt find any similiar issues online. here's what i tried: - Changing language in the code/config. It was set to english even tho the program was in chinese.- reinstaling, dind't help-  reinstaling on different drive, also nothing.I even tried installing After effects Beta, which was also in chinese, makes me think its not only AE issue. Help please!

Hey guys, I've got this problem where AE crashes randomly during renders, never during editing or launch just renders. I've had this problem since late AE 24 and have since upgraded to AE 25 and the error persists. I've gotten 2 error codes during this attached below.Ive tried reinstalling, removing caches, rendering in media encoder (still crashes), resetting preferences, changing render outputs, deleting a majority of layers, changing graphics drivers from Nvidia game to creative and back to game. Ive got no clue on how to fix thisOnly plugin i use is Geolayers for work.I have a small solution of rendering in MOV and stopping and restarting the renders at random points but this is obviously very inefficient with long renders and stops me from actually working as i can no longer render overnight or so on (it can also still crash during this and many render restarts are required). I'm attempting to run After Effects 25.1 on a Windows 10 virtual machine that I use Remote Desktop to connect to. Whenever I try to open After Effects I get the following errors:

I've been having a problem where the function that unpauses the video with the space bar stops working randomlyI saw that a lot of people have the same problem and that they fixed it by changing audio preferences, however, when I try to edit any preferences it crashes the program and the preference changes never saveClosing and restarting the program every 10 minutes or so to get the space bar to work just isn't gonna work if I want to get the job done. How can I fix this?

When I wake my macbook pro M3 from a sleep, I notice that After Effects often has crashed. Why is this? Premiere is fine. Photoshop is fine. All my other Adobe programs are ok.

Been having lots of issues with AE's frame.io integration for months. A) Upon trying to login on first launch, it usually errors out and I need to restart AE before it will finally let me login.  B)Creating and then renaming folders almost never works on first attempt. Contantly get:"Error. Failed to rename the item. Please try again."It's so unreliable that I usually have to resort to adding files and folders through the web browser instead of through the AE interface, which is not ideal for a fast workflow.Windows 11, AE 2025, all updated to recent versions.

I created a little animation for a spaceship flying to the earth. There are 2 spot lights and 1 ambient light for these GLB models. They look fine in the viewer, but when I export as Quicktime RGB + Alpha, the lights disappear. The first photo is the render, and the bottom photo is similar to what it should look like.   

I'm stumped by a problem that was brought to our attention by a user (and not sure if it's always been there or the result of a regression).It appears that when a third-party plugin such as ours is applied to a text layer, the coordinates of any point parameters are reported incorrectly. Rather than having the X and Y coordinates expressed relative to the layer, they appear to be reported relative to the frame. By reported, I mean: how these values appear inside the PF_ParamDef structure or as a result of calling PF_PointParamSuite->PF_GetFloatingPointValueFromPointDef(). Here’s an example that works as expected. I'm working on geolayers3 content in which I have to import 3D Objects like "airplane, cars etc ". I tried .glb .gltf .obj but whenever i import them this happens as showing in SS. Please anyone help me to solve this issue 😞 

command option shift G isnt scaling the picture to full frame. i can still see like a micro hair of alpha channel in the background. see attached screenshot. Mac os sequoia 15.1.1, after effects version 25.1.0 (build 68), its been doing this on a few templates now

i dont know what happend,yesterday every thing was working great and file was working smothly.today when i opened the file again this happend to every composition is seletced but in the tab below nothing is select and file is very slow now i cant find any thing about this 

If a mask is applied to a layer, and then scale keyframes are added to that layer, the ability to use the Selection Tool to click and drag the position of that layer within the Composition Preview Window breaks. Strangely, the effect of this bug is also dependent upon the position of the layer on the timeline. The bug's severity increases the farther to the right the layer is positioned in the timeline. So, for example, if the layer begins at the start of the timeline, the click-drag on the layer in the Composition Preview Window works as intended. The farther you move the layer to the right in the timeline, the smaller the active clickable area is in the Composition Preview Window, and instead of dragging the layer when you click on it, it drags the mask instead. I've attached a video showing the bug in action. Up to :33 seconds, you see the expected behavior. After :33, you can see that the Selection Tool can no longer drag the layer and instead drags the mask. AE 25.1

In AE 25.1 (and also 25) content of script UI panels often disappear and only AE restart helps to bring it back.This issue is new to AE 25 and forces me to not use it (AE25), because I use lot of handy scripts with their UI panels. I attached both states - When it is OK, and after finished render. Sometimes it dissapear sometimes not. This bug affects all script UI panels but not affect panels from extensions (like you can see on Kbar on the left)

Hello,I have a project with some RED footage to chromakey, I use the Redgiant VFX Suite (but the bug appears with Keylight too).After a few seconds the preview freezes and I can't do anything, and when I quit I have the spinning wheel for ever, until I force to quit.If I try to render, the render engine freezes on the first frame, and I have to force to quit.These problems appear with GPU Mercury (Metal) on, if I use Mercury software only, the bug doesn't appear, but the render times are slow. Thank you, AB System info    Application: After Effects v25.1.0.68    OS: macOS v15.1.1, RAM: 64,00 Go GB, CPUs (logical): 20

Is there something wrong with playback with new update, I can only play a few frames of animation before resetting at the start, it only go's up by 1 frame each time I replay it

I am having the below issue (among others). Whenever I save a project or save the settings, the window that pops up never goes away. When I try to quit AE it crashes. It's also way slower than the last 2024 version. It will also slow to the point of crashing during normal work.   I have tried resetting all preferences, disabling plugins, uninstalling + reinstalling, starting in safe mode. I am running AE 25.0.1 on a mac OS Sequoia 15.1 (24B83). I had no issues before the jump to AE 2025.   If anyone can help me that would be amazing.  

Hey! After Effects used to render amazing H264s, but lately in the last few versions of After Effects, h264/h265 renders coming out of AE with crazy glitchy square pixelation during movement. When I render Prores there's no issue, and I can use Handbrake to convert them to h264s that look fine, but for some reason native export has become completely broken. I've tried reinstalling AE, updating my mac, etc. Anyone know any fixes?

I'm writing to report a tiny (and somewhat amusing) quirk that I stumbled upon while working with the Essential Graphics panel.So, here's the scoop: it seems like the "Mask Feather" property has gone a bit shy and doesn't want to join the party in the Essential Graphics panel directly. When I try to add it, it's as if I'm throwing a party and it just refuses to RSVP! 😊The interesting part is that I found a detour to coax it in. By creating a Slider Control and linking it to the Mask Feather property with an expression, the property happily waltzes into the Essential Graphics panel, no questions asked. It's like it needs a little pep talk or a middleman to make an appearance!Now, I realize this is a very minor quirk in the grand scheme of things—and there are certainly more pressing issues—but I thought it might be worth a quick mention. This is maddening. This issue has been going on for years and all of the so-called "fixes" on the Internet and in these forums do not work. Disabling plugins doesn't work. Starting in safe-mode doesn't work. Resetting Preferences doesn't work. How can you have not fixed this issue by now?Us professionals RELY on using the camera tracker and using Mocha is a pain.After resetting preferenece, I get the notification of a long list of plugins that are not compatable with the M1 chip. However, I can't find ANY of those plugins to disable. So why are they on the list?I'm on a 2022 Mac Studio running OS 14.6.1 and the latest version of After Effects 24.6.2.Almost everyone who has posted about this issue has gotten feedback from Adobe and 99% of those people still have this issue.
