Short question. Is there a way to use the a variable to display the time spent and the time left in the module on a slide? I know that we can display it in the table of contents but I would like to have it on a slide if possible. I also know that it's basically just the length of the slides combined but that is not a problem. Thank you very much as always!

I have a main slide 3 menu buttons that link out to different slides. After they are done on one of the slides, they are to return automatically to the main slide to pick a new one. Thanks to Paul Wilson, I was able to disable audio on the main slide (on return). But I couldn't get the slide/button visit tracking conditional actions to work properly. Please provide steps to accomplish the following.When all 3 menu buttons on main have been clicked, show the next button.Note:I am not using the State View option. I am going from one menu slide and branching out to another slide and then returning to the menu slide.

Hello,  Does anyone know where i can find an updated guide to publish Captivate project as a mobile app? I have seen that Captivate currently uses PhoneGap, however it seems that PhoneGap is no longer an active service. I can't seem to find out how to get this all running, a part from Paul Wilson's video which seems outdated now.  Any thoughs on Mobile App publishing? Thanks guys. 

Hi everyone,excuse my english, I am french 🙂I got a job where i was asked to deliver a simple e-learning, based on a Menu and 10 videos ( 10 in FR and 10 in EN ).I usually only do animations with after effects but i was interested to rise to this challenge. I bought Captivate and did the work thanks to some help from here and tutorial on Youtube.But before sending it to the client, I would feel more secure to let check what I have done by a profi like you are here.So my question is : would someone be interested in this ?What I would like is that you correct anything you find wrong and tell me what my mistakes was, that I can improve for the future. It would be of course a paid job.I hope this is the right place for such request.  

Hey All, New Captivate user here. (I'm running Captivate 2019, v. 11.5.5.678) I have added in quiz questions and when previewing the question slides, I cannot see the difference before and after selecting an answer.  I have changed my theme colors hoping that was the issue but nothing changed.   This is before clicking anywhere on the question screen:This is while clicking on the blank to see a drop down: And this is after select an answer (any answer correct or incorrect): I an also seeing the same issue with radio buttons when I select true/false and multiple choice answers.

I'm not new to Captivate but haven't created any responsive projects until now. I'm unsure if this is the reason for my problems or not, but suspect it could be, for the text at least.  First, my audio quality is incredibly poor. I recorded and edited in Audition and then imported the narration on each slide. It sounds great in Audition, in the mp3 file itself, and used to sound good in preview. When published and previewed it is very poor quality - almost an echo, more robotic and tinny sounding. I have imported audio in this manner for all other projects with no issues. My Captivate is up to date.  Second, when I publish or preview, I'll have random text captions that will display at a different size than in the original project. If I have mutliple text captions per slide, one or two will display as much smaller than the others, and it's not always the same text each time I view it. I always view on desktop. Any ideas on how to improve audio quality or ensure

I am using the pre-installed Wired project in Captivate 2019.I am attempting to modify the states of text_person_01 on Click and Reveal 05 slide.  On the film strip I see what I expect but the workspace is blank. I can't figure out how to edit the text.   All assistance is appreciated. Thanks T 

Two days ago, I selected "master slide view" went in and changed the colour of a rectangle from orange to blue and it updated my master slide. Today I went to do the same thing and the colour picker has vanished, as seen in the attached image, (and yes I have the object selected) Where did the colour picker go? 

Hello, I've been trying to open a captivate file from my desktop folder. However I have this error. Another user was able to open the same captivate file after a few minutes. Both my profile and the user user profile has simliar permissions and account types.  

Hi all, I currently have Captivate 2019 11.0.1.266 and want to update to 11.5. but the Check for Updates link won't work (makes me look for an auphd file...probably something to do with the firewall).  Does anyone know, is there someplace I can go to download the update directly?    Thank you!

After checking many posts, I have tried closing and reopening Captivate and redirecting the audio file but can't seem to get my mouse click audio in software simulation to reappear. I can hear it by clicking the play button in the mouse properties panel but not in either preview>play slide nor published output. Captivate 2019 11.5.5.678

Hello,I was wondering if someone could help me identify why Captivate 2019 is running so slowly on my PC (Microsoft Surface Pro)? I've viewed several older threads that addressed this issue, and have take the steps they suggested, but I am still having the system lag quite a bit. Here are some relevant details to help troubleshoot. HiIs their a way to delete all the copies in Captivate. Everytime you copy a object captivate ads a _XX after.

Hi, I tried embedding a YT video to my Captivate presentation and after a few weeks, it stopped working. Already tried downloading and reuploading the video to YT myself and that didn't work either. Tried uploading the video to AWS too but there doesn't seem to be a player on there.  Any solutions/workarounds? I'm working on a budget.  

I would like to add functionality to the quiz and it would be helpful, for example, to know what button was pressed. Can the quiz buttons be called with Advanced Actions (are they named)? It seems that the quiz functionality is pretty locked down from modifying (probably for good reason).

I'm working on a responsive project in Captivate 9 and it needs to be 508 compliant. I'm trying to set the tab order for each of my slides, however when I go to do that there will sometimes be components listed without the name of the object, so I have no idea what object is in that spot. I'm using Captivate 2019, I'm a beginner. I am planning a bunch of short answer quizzes in my project. This module has two so I ran into the problem where the results slide totals both quizzes instead of having individual results for each quiz. I solved this with the first quiz (multiple choice) by having a popup shape on the last question that gives people options and that worked ok. When it gets to the last question on the second quiz (short answer), again I made a smart shape pop up after the person answers that gives them choices to start the module over, look at the answer key etc but I can't move the short answer field behind the pop up. There are a couple of elements that had this same issue where they were on top (the questions 1 of 1 and response area) but I just moved things around so it wouldn't conflict. Hi, From olders posts (5 to 8 years ago), I've read that it was not possible at the time to install Captivate onto an external hard drive. Does anyone know if this is possible now? The idea is that I install it on my portable SSD (that's 2TB) and run it from there instead of my laptop. My local drive is 237GB but only has 98GB free (It's my work laptop). I'm hoping that this would allow the program to run faster.

Hi, since 2019-release it is not possible to open a old .cptl file which have been created in year 2018. Is there any solution to convert the .cptl file into .cptx?Thanks!

Hello,  I have a problem when I publish my project, and when I'm previewing it too. My images show in the filmstip, but they don't show in the slide itself, and they don't show when I want to preview it. Any idea what's going on? Please see the images below as an example. Thank you This is the flimstrip. This is the slide.  

I want to create a master slide, but I don't have the Master Slide View option. I can't find the Master Slide View option. However, I can see the Reset Master Slide. Does anyone know how to get the Master Slide View option or how to activate it? Thank you. 

I am using Captivate 2019 on macOS Big Sur version 11.6, and i am getting the below error message when starting the application. I uninstalled and then reinstalled but I still get the same message. I have done everything i can think of to fix the issue but having no luck, can anyone help?
